I am amazed at how easy you made it for learning this tune. I like your teaching style-very calm and deliberate with emphasis on tone and time. Thank you for the instruction.

Thank you so much for your generosity in teaching this. Got it down (the tune anyway, not the finesse!), and am gonna play it for my wife when she comes home. She got the fiddle for me last Christmas (I'd never touched one before, but already play mandolin, banjo, guitar). So fun, love your videos, and super grateful for you have shared so much of yourself on here!

@@fiddl3hed I love this video. I just picked the fiddle up a few weeks ago. I am going through a udemy course on fiddle, but when I am done "practicing" I come here to "play". Do you offer online tutoring?
After I learned the notes for both parts, I realized I was playing each as quater notes. How do i go from simply knowing the quarter notes to playing it in the timing that you do so that it has that Irish 6/8 sound? (This is my first song on the fiddle).
This is GREAT!!! I’ve heard this tune my WHOLE LIFE but never knew the name of it...I’ve played it on the piano several thousand times at gigs...but this time, while watching your video, I have my classical guitar in hand (‘cause it’s late and the other 5 Family members are all sound asleep) AND, it’s fingertip-friendly, so unbeknownst to you, you just taught a guitar lesson!!! I know, I know, you should probably be paid for that, but for the time being, my heart-felt gratitude will have to suffice. Thank You Sensei‼️🎼🎸🎊🎻🎹🏆👌‼️

As an older gentleman and not long been learning viola I’m learning the first bit ok but I realised it’s going to take me some time , maybe a lot before I can play this one lol , I really want to learn it but crawling then walking before running is a process and takes time , that’s me haha , awesome video mate , great job 👍 liked and subscribed.
Following your instructions has helped me a lot. I had some questions but couldn't access your contact email on your website to ask about lessons at my adult beginner/intermediate level. Always wanted to learn Swallowtail jig. It's working...........Ray
Hi Jason hello from across the pond in the UK ..yes this was definately helpful, clear instruction and great to learn by. I must add though, that part of the attraction to your videos is to play the game - what parcel will there be on the floor over your left shoulder :) I guess it depends on the season, maybe Christmas presents in December?? Thanks for the fun parts too, makes it more interesting
Edorian- what a delightful thing to learn. Wow! It sounds like you are not accenting 2nd and fourth notes? Isn't Irish music supposed to be rather opposite of our English and Western tunes, whereas we accent the first and third notes? Just asking.
Hi Jason!! I love your method of building the parts!!! Your video is sooooo helpful! Question: it seems to me I am hearing a lovely vibrato when you play, however I am not seeing any movement in your fretting fingers. How do you do that? Thank you. Allan
did you add that fret note thing recently? could have sworn they weren't there two or three weeks ago when i first watched the intro? i might also say that they are a little confusing as they jump all over... i know what you are hitting but maybe another way? so far your video has been the most helpful learning this tune... i think i like the sound of it slow just as much as the fast paced version :^)
hi, In your video you say there are tabs below. But I dont see any? thanks for the videos, I had to quit violin lessons to save money so you are my salvation!

but im having some problems speeding up the parts, especially D C# D A G F#, every time i play those notes i cant help but hear the jurassic park theme, its the open A that especially throws me, and then i lose my irish feeling. please help
