    Our favorite breakfast eatery is in the Solarium. Our favorite coffe/lunch eatery is 270 Cafe. 270 VENUE is at the BACK of the ship. Best place to see the full effect of the 2 main shows is mid section of the balcony. Bands in the Music Hall is our favorite, sitting on the main floor next to the Casino. Schooner Bar is our favorite relax lounge. A quiet spot to snooze or read a book is to the far right of 270 upstairs.

    Hi Rob & Ali, thank you for taking your personal time out to do these informative videos. They’re fantastic. We’re heading on the quantum & hoping you might know if there is at least one location that serves French champagne? I’ve seen some drink menus with Chandon, yet curious to know if French onboard? X thanks again. Beck

      Hi Beck. The restaurant certainly does so I assume that you can get it in the other bars too. They have Perrier-Jouet, Brut, "Grand Brut" at US$96 and Dom Perignon, Brut at US$270. Hope this helps.

    Were so very excited :) we have changed our 3 night cruise to eden on ovation in November to a 5 night cruise on quantum to Airlie Beach in march next year :) we are much happier with the port (have watched your Airlie videos :)) and having the extra 2 nights onboard so as to experience much more of the ship :) very exciting :)

    • @robandalicruisetravel
      @robandalicruisetravel  Рік тому

      Hi Debbie and sorry for the delay in replying. Quantum and Ovation are sister ships although Ovation is a couple of years newer. They are the same class of ship which means that they are the same size and, for the most part, should be a similar layout. We haven't been on Ovation but from what we've seen it looks like everything is pretty much the same as on Quantum. Hope this helps.

    Thanks for the great videos. We are headed on this cruise shortly. We have heard some absolute horror stories about the tenders and how long they can take to get on and off the ship at each port. Can you shed any light on this? Are they as bad/slow as the online reviews say? We are taking a toddler (what we’re we thinking) so we would love to know your thoughts. Standing in a long lines is nearly impossible with him. 😩 any feedback on this, or tips would be amazing? Thank you 😊

    • @robandalicruisetravel
      @robandalicruisetravel  Рік тому +2

      Hi Sam. Sorry for the delay in replying, we've just been so busy. Hopefully this gets to you in time before your cruise. The short answer is that it's logistics. They can only have a certain number of tender boats off the ship as they need to keep enough back for emergencies. It the port does not have any big reef boats then the tenders are the only method of transport. They will hold 150 maximum as lifeboats but they don't fill them with that many for tenders. To get 4,500 people off a ship takes a lot of time. We were 4 hours in Port Vila getting off. So, the way to shorten the queue is firstly to book a shore tour from the ship. You will be guaranteed to get off first. If you can't do that then make sure that you are at the head of the queue when the tickets get distributed the day before. If you can't do that either get to the tender boat as soon as they start the open tenders in the morning (or preferably some time before). They will generally run a few tenders first thing for people without tickets who have private tours booked. Hope this helps.

    Oh I thought that sorrento was 24 hour. Is there a closing time?

  • @travelwithdebandnick
    @travelwithdebandnick Рік тому +1

    Do they tend to have the main nightly production shows in the theater where the Broadway type shows are on the exact same time as the shows in 270? Meaning that you would miss one show by going to the other?

    • @robandalicruisetravel
      @robandalicruisetravel  Рік тому +3

      Hi Debbie. The main nightly production shows are in the theatre but the special show (Starwater on Quantum and I think Pixels on Ovation) are in the 270 degree lounge. There is only 1 special show so check out the time and if there's a clash then go with the other time for the main production show. The main shows in the theatre you just turn up to but the special show you book through the App. Best to do this before you leave when planning other on-board activities. In reality you can probably just turn up for that too as no-one checks but if you book then you should be guaranteed a seat. Hope this helps but let us know if there's anything else you need to know. Oh and make sure you don't miss the special show as the use of the 270 degree lounge technology is amazing.

      @@robandalicruisetravel awesome thanks for your advice :) we don't go until November and are on the ovation of the seas, so no activities or shore excursions or anything able to be booked yet but if it can be done before boarding ill def do it as soon as they open bookings :) ive paid for a premium internet package with 3 devices, so my mum and fiance can use the net too :) i think i read on the website that we can start booking things the day our final payment is due which is 1st September :)

    • @robandalicruisetravel

      @@travelwithdebandnick Hi Deb. You're probably used to our apologies for delays by now but, hopefully, you'll understand that we will reply, even if it does take a little while. OK, can't remember exactly when the bookings opened up but when final payment is made sounds familiar. Definitely book up what you want to do as soon as you can though as they do fill up. We missed out on the iFly because we waited too long and if we hadn't booked North Star then we would have missed out on that too. I would say if you want to do either of those 2 book them a.s.a.p. and certainly don't rely on trying to get one of the complimentary ones once on board.
