Spoiler alert: If I remember right, Ilmo sent a letter or email telling the cult NOT to tamper with it though, so he wasn't in on it. He just wanted to keep people safe, but the cult was a bit out of control, members started doing shit on their own.

For a game that's so dark , I love how they are able to find that balance and timing for some comedy. Really breaks up the whole creepy vibe. Remedy is a master at game narrative.
I like to think this game is a tribute to survival horror games from the late 90s-early 00s. Back then survival horror games had cheesy light hearted moments to balance out the horror aspect.

The Upper Peninsula is notable for its large Finnish presence. However, the Upper Peninsula has a strong regional identity of its own, so I am unsure how well the wolverine symbolism would fit.)
I think that the name ”Ahma” is more straightforward. One of the most popular beer brands is called ”Karhu” which tranlates to ”Bear” so it might be another nod to Finland

You know the writing is amazing when the last commercial manages to be simultaneously incredibly sad yet also really funny.
