@@AdamsLab we never pay for reviews and never will, discussion and feedback is essential to making better products and we welcome feedback from all sides and perspectives!

@@REEKONTools - I get it's an inconvenient truth, but getting free product is payment and incentivizes people (influencers 🤮) to not speak honestly on the bad things about a product. If I 💩on your product, fair or not, you're probably not going to send me anymore free stuff. While a reviewer/influencer may not rely on the product directly (there not turning around and selling it for example), they do rely on being able to create content around the product(s) they receive for free. They need the product to make content, you want your product to be promoted, you have a symbiotic relationship. It's quid pro quo, it's you scratch our back, we'll scratch yours. That no longer works (for you) if the reviewer/influencer is saying bad things about your product. If it no longer works for you, it no longer works for the reviewer/influencer because you're no longer going to send them free product to make their content around. While the reviewer/influencer may have the best of intentions, this symbiotic relationship is ripe for creating perverse incentives. You don't have to directly influence the review via editorial approval or have it spelled out in the contract, because the understanding of what you do for the reviewer/influencer and what they do for you is baked into the *business relationship* you create when you exchange goods (your product) for services (the review).
I just bought one, and I’ve noticed other people also complain about the locking mechanism. My locking mechanism does not push in nearly as easily as yours and others I’ve seen in other videos. I can get it to retract, but not nearly as easily as yours. I’m a construction superintendent so my use for this is checking other people work, and verifying measurements. I think it works great for this, and saves me time on doing layout.
I can see how it would be handy in your use case. Perfect for that. I’ll note that REEKON commented and said that the function of the lock is by design. They basically said it’s too complicated to make a locking mechanism that actually locks 🤷♂️
Hey Adam, appreciate the review and feedback. The auto lock mechanism is intentionally designed like that and needs to be balanced between locking and not wearing out instantly (as grip and wear resistance are inversely correlated). Undoubtedly highlights the need to create a full lock version for some users based on preference and issues that will be addressed in our long roadmap of future products!
@@AdamsLab no need to apologize just wanted to explain that they are different mechanisms with different intentions. We are happy to hear your feedback and just wanted to help provide some behind to scenes as to the differences and acknowledging that it is intentionally different.
@@AdamsLabJust fyi there are in fact many tape measures that operate exactly like that. To that degree? I don’t know. But the mechanism is definitely a thing.
I disagree. Definitely worth it. Faster measurements, ability to keep measurements right on the display, as well as send them to your phone, laser line, finding center quickly. (Bought mine during kickstarter)
First of all fix your video so it's side to side the resolution is backwards. Also you say it's heavy but apparently you don't have a scale there to actually measure how heavy it is. This video seems like you spent about 60 seconds in prep time
The resolution is exactly what it’s supposed to be, for better or worse, I shot this as a vertical video. Also, the word you’re looking for is “horizontal.” Speaking of words and phrases, I suggest you lookup the definitions of “quick” and “off the cuff.” It might help explain some of the “deficiencies” you’ve pointed out.
Oh feel like it isn’t aimed at yourself when used with the rock app it does do a whole lot on the job site just my opinion I bought one along with the mitre saw attachment and they are amazing once you get your head around using them

Yeah, I suspect like most companies REEKON pays people for “reviews.”

Free product in exchange for a review = paid review. And I know for a fact that you’ve done that (at least in the past).

I mean, every other tape measure I’ve used locks properly 🤷♂️
@@AdamsLab an autolock is a very specific mechanism (push to activate) that differs from a push fixed lock (and has much different mechanics) to it
Ok? That may be, I still consider it a design flaw that the tape moves with the slightest touch/jostle. Sorry for being honest…

Thanks for the review you pointed out some good flaws regarding the gadget.
In Europe it costs over 250€, impossible to get it

pay it and
I've been waiting for a year... damn it
When it's 100$ or 150 I might buy it
If they fixed the tape lock $100 would be about right…
Speciality tools will never be worth it to diy or home owners cause you don’t do repeated things enough to offset the cost of the tool.

This thing is to expensive and a friend of mine says his was getting error messages 😮
Interesting, other than the issues I mentioned I haven’t had any errors.

“iT’S NoT MeAnT FoR YoU” doesn’t excuse the crappy lock.
What looks good to one person maybe doesn’t to another
The lack of a functioning lock is objectively bad. You don’t have to be a “pRoFeSsIoNaL” to realize that.
