      To give Claire the benefit of the doubt, she did actually see Jamie and Malva at the window, and she saw him drinking, as well as Malva touching him all tenderly.
      So she was allowed to have at least a second of doubt.
      But yeh overall, I knew Claire knew better, and knows Jamie would never do no such thing, he didn't even want to sleep with any other women while she was gone for 20 years, let alone now.

    It's interesting that Claire names Brianna, Roger and Jemmy as possible victims of her love for Jamie but leaves out Frank. I wish the show would someday touch on Claire's incredible level of selfishness.

    • @bowtoyoursensei554
      @bowtoyoursensei554 2 роки тому +21

      Respectfully, think about it for a moment though. Frank really isn't relevant to the *current* situation they're in. Frank was a victim her first accidental trip through the stones and decision to stay with Jamie, but he's not in any danger now. Her point is that Brianna, Roger and Jemmy are in harm's way *now* because of her choice to return to Jamie. She expressed a lot of guilt over Frank in Season 2 when she thought his existence was in jeopardy and she begged Jamie not to duel with BJR. She continues to wear Frank's ring as a reminder of her guilt, and that's no small thing, considering Jamie's feelings about it.
      Claire also knows better than to EVER bring up the subject of Frank if Jamie hasn't asked about him first. If she brought him up now, the conversation would have gone sideways. But again, I believe Frank isn't relevant to the current situation.

    • @ellawagemakers8882
      @ellawagemakers8882 2 роки тому +9

      So....... just because she didn't mention Frank, she's automatically selfish? Frank is long gone. He's no longer relevant to their situation. He didn't travel through the stones with any of them, and he certainly didn't influence the present situation. Why bring him up at this time?

    • @adapierson8231
      @adapierson8231 2 роки тому +4

      She’s talking about who is in the past because of her. You have to remember frank was dead before she came through the stones to go back to Jamie.

    • @vmatin1
      @vmatin1 2 роки тому +4

      Frank was constantly cheating on her, so he had a few selfish quirks himself.

    • @imapandaperson
      @imapandaperson Рік тому +1

      She really is selfish sometimes ... she was so dismissive of Frank's pain their whole marriage.
      And when Brianna found out that Frank wasn't her father, all Claire was concerned about was whether Brianna understood HER pain and she really shat all over Brianna's pain. Brianna's whole world had been rocked and she snapped with "admit you fucked someone else", and Claire's only response, instead of understanding Brianna's whole world had been turned upside down, was just to say "it was a hell of a lot more than fucking!"
      And then leaves her very brave eighteen year old alone in the world to go back in time on the slim chance she might find Jaimie, which, if Brianna hadn't followed her to the past, would have essentially been a death since Brianna wouldn't have ever seen her again. And she wasn't even an emotionally available mother in Brianna's childhood either.
      As brave as Claire can be, she was like a child trying to be a mother to a child. She doesn't think the emotional pain of other people is as important as hers.

      I agree. I thought Jamie would be much more distraught than was shown. I thought he might have had maybe some kind of monologue towards Claire as she was lying in bed or something. Maybe some kind of deep conversation with Brianna… it did seem a bit out of place how they presented his reaction to what was happening. Armchair critique here. I know it must be rough trying to stay true to the books yet adapt for TV. Either way I’ll still be watching.

      I just finished the episode and I thought the same exact thing. Few seasons ago I doubt I'd see that. I've been saying this whole season. They are off. I don't know they're rusty due to lockdownsdue to covid so 🤷 . But I was thinking same thing.
      This episode would of been a remarkable epside showing Jamie and Claire together. There was a group of people tending to her but Jamie just watched ... worried but it was so many people in the room. We only saw him hold her hand once alone and that was just a moment. He mourned and feared more of death coming with Murtaugh than Claire. His vulnerability as he showed to Murtaugh dying. "You canna leave me.". There was none of that or how Claire tended to Jamie when the snake bit him. There was intimacy. She was scared. Been saying this whole season 6. Minus the 8 seconds of eye to eye locks when they first made love this season, everything else of them together seems so casual and meh. When I saw the Jamie malva scene I was like 👀 wth. Poor directing, writing and producing here.
      Even seeing Briana cool her off and Jamie just watching. Jamie is tender why didn't he do it? Carrying her upstairs was tender but that's all ill give. why was Roger by her bed not Jamie? Why did we not see Jamie cry whether from hair or just seeing her with fever? Where is the Jamie that prays in Latin over her head while she sleeps? Jamie calming her crying after witch trials and held her "shhh rest now, its okay im here. No one will hurt you." As he calmed her with sweet words in gaelic. So this episode was beyond not his character. There's no depth. No depth when she asked what attracts him to her . Being faithful? Lousy cook? Seriously? Nothing. That was another fail. And missed opportunity showing thier intese deep love for eachother. The woman nearly dies and it seemed so casual to him. It's the director and hell the producers, Sam and Cait are producers, fault... so this was disappointing.
      The show has become "The Ridge" not Jamie and Claire anymore. And i think many of us see this. I know the cristies are in the books. But there were way too many opportunities to relfect of just seeing claire and jamie stritcly alone that was missed. And us seeing how strong they are together . I miss his poetic words to her. Not him trying to get in politics when your white dove nearly dies from a fever. I miss him praying for her. I miss his tears and vulnerability. I miss his deep gaze into her eyes. Zero nurturing. The show is about Jamie and Claire and they blew it here.
      Its becoming very Dr. QUINN medicine woman.
      Maybe s7 will be different but I don't know. We shall see!

    This show has been so disappointing in this series 6. Done watching it. It has ruined the love story of Claire & Jamie.

    Unpopular Opinion: Twice now Claire has said I shouldn’t be here because I don’t belong here when Jamie’s been with other women or in this case accused of it and I don’t like it. Like I’m sorry your life wasn’t perfect and still isn’t perfect. Shit happens. That’s what life is and I feel like Claire desires her life back in Boston more than their life together because for the most part it was one of structure with rarely any set backs. Something she never had as a child with an archaeologist uncle, a medic in WW2 or the wife of a Jacobite trying in vain to stop the uprising. She’s spiraling and she needs to admit that and not take it out on Jamie or bring Brianna, Roger and Jemmy into what’s going on with her and only her.

      That's not what she meant, she just means that she never wants to just realize one day it was all for nothing, because she literally sacrificed the future for Jamie, and so has her daughter and Roger, which she feels guilty about, because they are only there because Claire is.
      She doesn't mean she hates being there and thinks she made a mistake.
      It would be like if you loved someone and sacrificed everything to live in the Alaskan wilderness, daily dealing with the cold, bears, constantly having to hunt, gather wood, just for survival.
      Then one day you find out your spouse has been messing around with somebody else that lives in a cabin a few 100 yards away, you'd be devastated, even more so than if you didn't give up so much to be with them.

      She is not complaining, she is saying that, she is there because she loved Jamie, more than living in her own time.
      Brianna, Roger & Jemmy are there because of her.
      Its all been worth it because she knows that Jamie loves her just as much as she loves him.
      But….if he has been with Malva and is lying to her, then what has it all been for?
      She is asking him to tell her that she’s wrong and that he does love her the way she thinks he does.

      The more I listen to her speech in the stables All i hear was I gave up everything to come back to be here with you and you turn around and potentially spit on my sacrifice by sleeping with her. But sacrificing her life in Boston for a life with Jamie was a decision she made. Jamie owes her nothing for it because he didn’t expect or ask for her to do that. Brianna exist because of the love Claire and Jamie have that’s true, but that’s not why she’s there currently. She’s there because she couldn’t go about her life knowing her parents die in a fire without warning them first and just ended up getting stuck there because she became attached to the the people, place and overall lifestyle Roger is there because his family is his home. And because Jemmy’s a traveler I assume Roger is his father therefore he wouldn’t exist if Roger hadn’t went back in time. So like I said she shouldn’t bring Brianna, Roger or Jemmy into what’s going on with her and only her.

      @@awkwardwithapause26 Yeh, none the less..
      Claire is literally just days from her death bed, she's suffering major ptsd from the kidnapping and rpe..
      She was a nurse during ww2, and saw everything imaginable..
      Her daughter was rped during this time period, then later kidnapped by the same guy..
      This little chick moves onto her homestead, they help her family build a home, a church etc, then now she's standing in her living room telling her to her face that her husband put it to her while she was on her death bed, plus on top of that, while running a 102 fever, she actually saw Jamie and Malva just as Malva is describing how it supposedly happened.....
      Not to mention Malva's dad, after they've done so much for them, plus Claire did his surgery, has been accusing Claire of being a witch...
      I get what you're saying, but I think we can give Claire a bit of a break on this one.

    This is not ptsd but her regret for returning and blaming Jamie. Wailing like a child..it was different in the book. She was rational. In the show, she is regretting and making trying to pass some of her guilt to Jamie. Yes, i agree, Claire lacks emotional growth and cannot articulate how she feels. Similar book lines but totally different. She deceived him about the ether and now literally blaming him for her decisions.?? How conveniently self serving. Show Claire is not unconditional in her love. Book Claire never regretted returning... Season 6 was a convulated mess and the acting was like a soap opera and below expectation. Not award worthy at all..

    Stupid episode! They profess their love to each other & Claire immediately believes the girls story? What? Come on....you should have written a better episode than this!
