- Hi Everyone! Welcome! In today's video I will show you how to do a second fermentation of kombucha with strawberry basil flavor.
Welcome to our channel! We are Kira & Steve and this is our every day life! We are homestead dreaming, bread baking, kombucha brewing, chicken loving, husband and wife duo and parents of 3 littles.

I had no idea kombucha reacted to metal! Strawberry basil sounds so good! Also I see that eveydaykira shirt, very nice!
Thanks! I made it for the shindig with a screen printing kit and then my cat stepped on it before it was dry and I felt it was too messy to wear out. It's a nice "house shirt" now until I can try again hahaha. Also yea I dont know all the science behind it, yet, but i know you're not supposed to use metal with your kombucha. I think it may be the level of acidity in the booch? I'll find out and do a video

@@HomesteadDreaming let me know if you're out by hot springs some time come up I'd LOVE to buy a scoby from you (if you'd be intrested in selling one ever) can I get one in those ones you can buy at say walmart? Or do they not have a scoby in those?

I'm late to this kombucha train, I don't even know what it is, LOL!! those scobys freaked me out, LOL!! omg they explode!!
Hahahah it's fermented tea. It's loaded with natural probiotics which is great for your gut. Scoby's can be a little intimidating but they're not too bad. And yea, the bottles can "explode" if too much pressure builds up inside. Kinda like a soda when you shake it and then open it before it settles
Kombucha is it alcohol or vinegar??? I put a like for the kid calling you😀😀
Kombucha is actually fermented tea. It does have a very low alcohol content just like any other fermented product but it's no more than if you were to eat sauerkraut or kimchi. Thanks so much for the like, my kids are always calling for me hahah
