  • Today I activated a Parks On The Air park (POTA) K-6955, Sutton Lake State Game Land in North Carolina. I used my home-brew delta loop tuned for 20 meters. It is supposed to give an added 3.5 db of gain. What thought the video to find out how well it works, if at all.

I think that antenna will be perfect when going camping. And has for logging I use HAMRS on a iPad works great never had a problem with it crashing. Great video thank you for sharing it with us.

The antenna is pretty neat. And I use an iPad with HAMRS until I bought the Evolve III. I have had issues with it locking up mid activation with both now. Maybe I’m doing something wrong? Thanks for watching.

Yes it does. Even with it low to the ground it performs wonderfully. Thanks for watching.

Hamrs for logging. Only issue is it goes crazy if I try to use a bluetooth keyboard with my android tablet or phone. No files lost. KI5WWT

Try AP FOTO Delta loop ve3dal
less footprint than you have now but you won't lose you gain. The Delta loop antenna doesn't have to be high like a
    dipole antenna. For 20meters
7.5 ft - 10 ft off the ground. Too high you will increase lobes and lose your effective gain potential.good luck!

@@BlackabeardAlso I have a alpha Delta light duty tripod. I like it because, using ve3dal loop antenna, the 1 inch PVC
will fit in the tripod sleeve. Must use some weight to keep
tripod from turning over. Ve3dal ,his tripod has spikes on bottom of the legs.

@@jamesabc372 I would love to see some pictures of that. Sounds like it would be easy to get on the air with.
