a really good video to see how things are done from someone who has only used machines from the 60's and 70's until 2 years ago when we finished farming..
Great set up, and very cost effective, no other tractor and rake, driver, fuel, wages.. I think contractors will go down this route in the future, with ever rising costs.. Getting used to is like with anything new, A bit slower yeah, and the tractor filters, well, just clean them out frequently. Thanks for the video George👍
i made similar next year, between tractor and baler from pz novex 600, this year i weld front straw roller and bale handler, for catching 2 bales by loader
I live in Brittany and I find your beautiful video with very recent materials I do not understand everything you say my I want to say thank you for your videos
Really enjoyed that George! That slow mo was beautifully done, it was so crisp and clear! I can definitely see a place for that in a contractors line up, frees up a whole tractor and would possibly pass on some savings to the customer. Obviously wouldn’t be great for small awkward fields but I think it’s got its place in somebody’s line up. :)
Haha! Point taken George! Lol It’s not kicked off yet, still another 2 weeks maybe until we start. Its about 80% spring drilling and with it being organic it’s still pretty green, it’s still pretty green when we combine it to be honest lol Has your silly season kicked off good and proper now?
Cheers for the video George👍. I'd seen one at an ag show near me and I like the idea and as jonny1388 said, would benefit a contractor in time and fuel but I can see it making as many problems as it solves. Great idea but I look forward to a mk2 version
Between this and those desings where the rakes are attached to the baler (seen it with a Krone) I prefer the other one, since I ends the possibility of missing the swath, however this one can be used with a forage wagon or a different baler too.
Haha jeez moving that carriage around on them english paths for roads my heart rate went up, and Im not even there! An old friend of mine tried that concept some 10 years ago but he scratched that idea, I don't know exactly why but my guesses was that he didn't like that it didn't work out too well around headland. And usually around here, when you mow you don't take out a straight line, you just follow the straighest edge of the field. Obviously can't be done with them old right sided mowers but less and less farms use them.
This is a decent machine but most suited to big fields i rekon. IT Looks very well built. I wouldn't particularly enjoy driving with it mounted and turning off side lanes / at junctions. That said without actually sitting in the tractor its hard to judge from a video. Great video George, i can see these front rakes becoming popular.
Neat setup George, lots off concentration required. Guess once you have a couple off hundred acres under the belt you will be in autopilot. keep the videos coming. TaTa !
Certainly will save time and fuel costs. Like all things knowing what the problems are can be overcome with experience and using it. Nice set up and of course a decent size field system to try it out.
I would like to see that in action with grass dropped for silage see how it performs in that style of crop. these are bound to appear on the front of foragers some time in the future, great video pal enjoyed that thanks.
Commentary's fine George. Damn site better than before you learned to talk lol. All you need now is a chaser on the back, and you can rake, bale and stack in one go :)
MalcOfLincoln I would pay money to see George do that with a chaser on the back, I remember the instruction book came out at JWB on the last time.. Lol🤔😂
I have a front rake and been using it for a year now and it saves me a lot of time. It saves time and fuel because the hydraulic drive takes nearly no power and you can adjust the speed on the rake easy. Only problem is when you turn, the baler leave the corner but you can just take it when you turn on the head land. My rake is a Fransgård and i think it is better on the road because you can see where you are driving.
Would of liked to see the headlands being done. Would be interesting in the corners especially if the mower man got right in the corner. As was said in the vid you probably have do headlands just raking then bale after. Maybe forced steering on the rake would enable operators to steer rake hydraulically and steer tractor for the baler. Just a thought.
I think this is ok for a large farmer or so, but not for a contractor. If the rake has a problem, the baling stops. Or if first you have to bale a field of hay and then straw, you're stuck with the rake in front off you for the rest of the day.
Great vid I've got a nice 1/3 of an acre field traigle if you want to have a go and there's a telegraph polo in middle that's if you can get it down the narrow road lol
Most rakes work at mid range rpm, but the baler is probably designed for high end engine rpm. And you can't run the front and back ptos at different speeds, at least you can't on john deeres or new Hollands, I've never driven a fastrac.
I think it is a great set up, you see bigger tractors every year, everone talks about enviromental issues, too much diesel engines, to much exhaust etc. other say that the margins are very low in the agricultural sector, but i think this kind of things, is really the way to go, to make most of your tractors power and most of the time and fuel used.
it' s useless. In a few minutes it stop the airflow to the radiator. The rake is too little for that baler. If you curve, the baler can' t pick up the hay. You can' t do the corners of the field. You can't go on pubblic streets with that thing in front and the baler rear. You can waste less fuel if you use a 50hp tractor with a decent rake before baling.
How do you rate the new fastrac gorge? Alit of people say its not a proper one, because its not equal wheels, but it's seems like a greet tractor. Are they better than the 4000 series?
Simon is actually the next door neighbouring farm to us. Top bloke
Now this is awesome. One man one tractor doing two ppl and two tractors jobs. Best setup I’ve seen. I’m ab sold on the JBC and wanting one
a really good video to see how things are done from someone who has only used machines from the 60's and 70's until 2 years ago when we finished farming..
Doozy of a setup. Probably a blast turning through the streets.
Very impressive! 👏🏻
Love the video, also nice a quiet inside the cab
i need to try one of these..
That is the way to go George ,,those rotary rakes are brilliant
Excellent bit of kit it frees up a extra tractor if need be... Thanks for sharing George
Kevin Willis cheers Kev
That's a nice one man setup ,good video too.
What a great combination George, really nice video!
i made similar next year, between tractor and baler from pz novex 600, this year i weld front straw roller and bale handler, for catching 2 bales by loader
bettwen because Valtra isn all well steer or pivot, and clean coolers are one of the most important things for me... o and i don't have front PTO :v
Cheers Jan, I thought you might like it!
Very interesting video and top bit of kit. Can see the contract lads finding a use for it or maybe those with larger fields. Nice one!
That’s a very slick setup!
multi tasking at its best wonder great video
Bizarrely fascinating video! Thanks! :)
Superbe vidéo et très joli ensemble de travail!! 😊
Awesome video as always george 👍
Great vid George, as regards to the corners if you had a twin axle rear steer baler it would follow the tractor round corners .
Very impressive looking outfit. Some multi tasking there. Looks the bizz. Very good idea but I wonder just how practical. Nice one George.
I live in Brittany and I find your beautiful video with very recent materials I do not understand everything you say my I want to say thank you for your videos
Pierre osiris56 thank you Pierre
Really enjoyed that George!

Jonny 1388 hi jonny
Cheers Jonny it's got it's place as has a 45ft claas lesion, how's your harvest going mate?
Hi pieter sipma! :)
Haha! Point taken George! Lol

Awesome vid once again mate
Thats a great looking outfit g
Nice video. Good luck getting that lot past VOSA.
Now that is a hay making rig right there 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice bit of kit right there.
Great video and look at the front rake
Good video keep up good work 👍👍
Wow, what an outfit that makes!!
That Claas baler sounds like some sort of alien bipedal mech walking around. That alone makes it much better than Krone, :) .
Between this and those desings where the rakes are attached to the baler (seen it with a Krone) I prefer the other one, since I ends the possibility of missing the swath, however this one can be used with a forage wagon or a different baler too.
Hell of a setup George I sure would hate to meet you on our narrow roads.
Yeah, that's a good set up. Saves another bloke doing the rake, and your not waiting. Looks like good thick swafs too
I was thinking the same, huge amount of hay or whatever it is ?
Fair play George that must take some concentration to run, great vid mate 👍
Gazza cheers Gaz
Looks a great job next you will see one on a silage chopper.
Good looking piece of kit, I hope you've put yourself on double time, you are doing two jobs in one there.
John Long now there's an Idea!
Very good setup for a large rectangular fields but I would kind of leery using it on smaller irregular shaped fields.
Haha jeez moving that carriage around on them english paths for roads my heart rate went up, and Im not even there!

Paul F cheers Paul
Nice vid and interesting combination!! Greets Stefan
Neat setup George, lots off concentration required. Guess once you have a couple off hundred acres under the belt you will be in autopilot. keep the videos coming. TaTa !
Good bit of kit that rake
Nice set up George ,can we assume driver's getting two wages as he's doing two jobs💷💷💷👍😀
paul mellor chance would be a fine thing!
Certainly will save time and fuel costs. Like all things knowing what the problems are can be overcome with experience and using it. Nice set up and of course a decent size field system to try it out.

cibie01 cheers Mark, it was certainly interesting to operate
Looks quite an outfit. Just wants a reversible fan and all the fields to be as good as that.
Great vid George!
Ifan Roberts cheers Ifan
Nice video ,a steering axle on the baler would be handy on corners .
That's a fair machine!
Great engineering, farmer came up with this idea.
Commentary's fine George. Damn site better than before you learned to talk lol. All you need now is a chaser on the back, and you can rake, bale and stack in one go :)
MalcOfLincoln that would just do your swede in. Lol
LOL well as you're multitasking, might as well do the lot (grin)
MalcOfLincoln I would pay money to see George do that with a chaser on the back, I remember the instruction book came out at JWB on the last time.. Lol🤔😂
He a top guy, and a great operator
Cheers Malc
Top vid George very nice 👍
Greg Bailey cheers Greg
That's brilliant worthy of Barnes Wallis!
Geoge meu nome e Celso sou aqui do Brasil e gosto muito de seus videos , gosto de ver como vocês são proficionais em que vocês fazem , parabéns.
Nice bit of slow mo there George. Very smart bit of kit mate.
Ben Bright cheers Ben
Good machine. You can get rowers that go on back of tractor in between tractor and Baler. Reckon that would be better for going round the corners.
Stephen Chaplin yes you are probably right Stephen
I can see efficiency of a rake baler combo. But wouldn't the hay dry out better if raked and then baled later?
Hi nice video good work
How did you rake the headlands and not bale them?
I have a front rake and been using it for a year now and it saves me a lot of time. It saves time and fuel because the hydraulic drive takes nearly no power and you can adjust the speed on the rake easy. Only problem is when you turn, the baler leave the corner but you can just take it when you turn on the head land. My rake is a Fransgård and i think it is better on the road because you can see where you are driving.
Jørgen Jensen sounds good, I'll have to check them out
And they say men can’t multi task....
I would not fancy going off down the narrow roads with this bad boy sticking out the front
Just a thought.
brilliant video George , you explain everything nice and clearly , what a great job you have , are you on an old airfield ?
Great video mate
Pigmanian cheers mate
I think this is ok for a large farmer or so, but not for a contractor. If the rake has a problem, the baling stops. Or if first you have to bale a field of hay and then straw, you're stuck with the rake in front off you for the rest of the day.
That’s a grand job
Time to get a reversible fan fitted
Awesome slow motion footage
ibkg ta👍
Love it, great vid mate. Oh shit, I already commented on this 4 years ago. Haha 😂😊❤
In Spain we use rear baler attached rake.
Great vid I've got a nice 1/3 of an acre field traigle if you want to have a go and there's a telegraph polo in middle that's if you can get it down the narrow road lol
Antony farming that's the trouble Antony!
FASTRAC's are great, they also look the part.
Onelonelyfarmer is gonna have to step up his game George. Your letting Wes slip. Lol
Is this faster overall than the old way ? Thanks.
Good work
Thanks for idea,i try this in FS19 )))
Thats what you call multitasking
Reversible fan on the tractor might help?
How did you take the rows that aren't baler on the headlands?
That is handy as pockets on a shirt!
Hi George I'm interested in the front rake what make & model is it ? & what price ? Cheers
Are you driving it on a lower speed ?
How much does the finished bale normally weight?
Hi George. Love the vids. Keep up the great work. Question, Does the Fastrac have a front PTO? Wouldn't that be easier to power a rake?
Most rakes work at mid range rpm, but the baler is probably designed for high end engine rpm. And you can't run the front and back ptos at different speeds, at least you can't on john deeres or new Hollands, I've never driven a fastrac.
I would prefer a large rake and a different machine personally
Wow a five foot tall crop of hay George
I think it is a great set up, you see bigger tractors every year, everone talks about enviromental issues, too much diesel engines, to much exhaust etc. other say that the margins are very low in the agricultural sector, but i think this kind of things, is really the way to go, to make most of your tractors power and most of the time and fuel used.

You can waste less fuel if you use a 50hp tractor with a decent rake before baling.
Very cool set up.
Love to go through a 10ft gate with that setup
How wide is the asphalt road?
I love JCB fastrac
OLF would be proud of those windrows :)
For some reason my da said that was ropey looking ... looks perfectly stable
How much for this tractor, Sir?
serious bit kit George ok for somebody your experience give it my boy scouts would last 2 hours!!!!!!!!!!
How do you rate the new fastrac gorge? Alit of people say its not a proper one, because its not equal wheels, but it's seems like a greet tractor. Are they better than the 4000 series?
how do you think it would work with silage and comb baler? would u have enough oil for both? great video as always
aidan flynn cheers Aidan, I would of thought it would be fine, the rake takes very little oil to power it
