You're misremembering a bit. R-Truth was the first member to join right after Edge formed it. We just couldnt see him because of the really dim lighting in the Edge promos, but he's there. He was supposed to be there at ringside during Edge vs AJ Styles, but he stayed in the back and Priest came out. Then they just forgot about Truth for a while

Fantasy booking scenario:
* Royal Rumble: Cody and Punk is staring each other in the ring, crowd counting down for the #30 entrant. Lights go out, an audio will play saying "The greatest the devil has ever pulled was making the world know he never existed". Then Dig Deep starts to play, MJF is #30. Cut to the ring where Punk and Cody is confused. After a few minutes, MJF eliminates Cody. Drew eliminates MJF, then Punk eliminates Drew to win.
* Elimination Chamber: Elimination Chamber match to determine who will face Roman at WM40, The Rock, LA Knight, AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Bronson Reed, Cody Rhodes. Final 3 is The Rock, Bronson Reed, Cody Rhodes. MJF cost Cody the match, he gets eliminated by Reed
* WM40 is set, Cody v MJF. MJF wins via shenanigans. This will start an upward trajectory of MJF and will start the slow insanity of Cody.
* Cody goes on a losing streak, and starts to loose it but eventually gets back-up
* MJF is on a win streak
* Bash At Berlin (since by this time, Roman has surpass Hogan's championship reign): build Cody v Roman II. During the build, Roman and MJF had a conversation, forming a temporary alliance that if Roman retains, he'll get the next shot...Things to note during this:
* Roman's empire is now gone, Jey, Jimmy, and Solo are not with him anymore, and he fired Paul
* MJF is a devil and playing Roman
* Build the match between Cody and Roman like if Roman wins, Cody won't be able to get a shot at the championship while Roman is champion
* At the Bash at Berlin PLE: Roman wins with the help of MJF
* Next PLE: maybe Payback or something, Roman v MJF. Since Roman is now alone and very vulnerable, MJF took advantage of it and win
* During this time period, MJF is teasing Cody since Cody is unable to go to SD because Regal (yes, Aldis v Roman has happened during my fantasy booking and Regal is now the SD GM) banned him to SD, and Regal don't want to trade for him since he's causing chaos
* Survivor Series: there's a stare-down between MJF and Cody (tease for Cody winning the RR match)
* Royal Rumble 2025: Cody losses because of MJF
* During the build to Elimination Chamber, Regal grown tired of MJF, he then brings up their past in AEW, he then dares to trade for Cody
* Go home for Elimination Chamber, a spot opened up because someone from the chamber competitors gets beaten by the faction his feuding with. Regal then reveals the last spot is now for Cody since he traded for Cody
* Elimination Chamber: MJF tried to cost Cody the match but Cody was able to evade and Cody wins
* WM41: MJF v Cody for the WWE Championship...Cody wins
End of story

I loved their segment. I just hope Drew re-signs with WWE and have a long term feud with CM Punk(probably winning the Heavyweight Champion from him). IMO their feud kinda gives me the Adam Page vs CM Punk vibes back in AEW.

This is my ideal booking atm with Drew winning the title. I love Punk and Seth but Drew needs it more than any of them and the biggest reason for Punk to be there is he finally gets his main event at mania! Also Punk is so over he doesn’t need a title for him to stay popular.

It's funny how both Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre were both in 3MB and portrayed as joke midcard jobbers, they both went away and came back with impressive jacked physiques and got put into the main event spot and made a WWE Champion 😆 now they're itching at getting back into that spot again but it'll definitely be Drew who has a much better chance of achieving that
