As a US immigration lawyer, I congratulate you on your initiative and success. Wonderful!!
Thank you!
Hello Dari, congratulations 🎉, please let me know i want to meet you in person when you come to New York
Congratulations! 🙂 ... Belgrade looks lovely. Now I wanna visit it as well.
It does look lovely. Sadly, indoor smoking is a big no go for me. I get nose bleeds and asthma attacks from second hand smoke. :(
The indomitable Dari Step!
Thanks! Congrats, Dari. I think you will like NYC.
Thanks a lot 🙏🏼
@@DariStep You are very welcome ♥
lovely Serbia
So pleased for you Dari...
Dari, Congrats on your passport. Belgrade looks pretty.amazing it's cold there when it's so hot here in Florida. Good luck at St. Johns.
Thank you! ✨
🎉🎉🎉 Congratulations! Welcome to the States, Dari. I used to live in Manhattan. I miss living there a lot, when I am not enjoying my life on the coast in California. I usually go back to NYC for 2 or 3 months per year.
Nice, I own a jet and I travel to NYC every 2-3 weeks...right
I don't know what is the cost of even renting the apartment in Manhattan but I know real estate agents with 20+ years of experience who can not afford to live there but in Brooklyn.... bye
Life is not milk and honey , just to add.
@@maksimm.8502 I lived in a etc sf apartment on the 15th floor with a window looking out into the air shaft. $1,700 a month 10 years ago. The building was bought by a developer and want $3,000 a month for new lease, My apartment wasn’t rent controlled. There was no way I could stay on the money I made as an artist. I was doing okay for an artist but there was no way to remain. I moved to New Haven. Wasn’t very happy there, moved to California, and my work sells. I still miss NYC, but not the winter. Hurricane Sandy was a trip. I still haven’t experienced an earth quake other than some tremors. No reason to be mean.
Congratulations Dari!🎉🎊🍾🎉🎈
You've got a misunderstanding about how US visas work. It's merely an entry document. Once you're in the US, it's meaningless. As a student, it's your I-20 and your I-94 (US equivalent of a migration card) that matters. Your I-94 will cover the dates of your course of study, you can stay for as long as your I-94 is valid and you're still studying (the university will report you if you don't show up to study and your I-94 will be cancelled.) The counterfoil in your passport is completely irrelevant. Once you get to the US, you need to go to the SSA ASAP and apply for an SSN. For that you'll need your I-20, I-94, passport and a letter from the university that you will be engaged in on-campus employment. The SSA will confirm your identity and DOB from your passport, but they don't care about the visa. Canadians don't need visas, so the system was designed so that you don't use it after entry. Usually I advise people in NYC to go to Montreal to get a new F-1 visa so they can travel abroad and re-enter the US, but you'd need a Canadian visa to do that.
You sure do know a lot about the process!!
Dari will certainly want to travel abroad! Not least, I'm sure, to visit her family next summer. Being able to stay in the US is all very well, but who on earth (other than most Americans) want's to never leave the US? When I lived in Moscow for three years I left and re-entered FIFTEEN times. And I wasn't trying. I had to actually count them when I was later in the US on an H-1B and wanted to visit friends and ex-colleagues for 10 days at New Year 2020 and to get a tourist visa I had to detail every previous entry into Russia.
While I'm on the subject, you'll need to file an I-765 to get your EAD, but the university has presumably explained how to do that.
It's*very important* to comply with U. S. A. immigration laws and regulations.
My parental family had split up multiple times in four cities and three national jurisdictions. My Mom got so fed up with our split-ups that she prohibited my Dad from veering off in his own way illegally overstaying in the U. S. A.
He obeyed. My Mom didn't like the experience of sneaking with a kid in tow across national jurisdictions and ended up as ambiguously and probably stateless illegal immigrant (Hong Kong, its different sections and territory, are complex in its jurisdictions).
I only remember that upon arriving in JFK International Airport, after we had gone through the entry checking of then-called INS (Immigration and Naturalization Service, now the CBP -- Customs and Border Patrol), I somehow got a small white card with my alien registration number printed upon it.
@@solconcordia4315 What you're describing is an I-94. If you immigrate as a permanent resident, CBP will stamp the passport with an I-551 stamp, but if you're stateless they stamp the I-94 and take your photo and staple it to the form. Not sure how they do it since I-94s became electronic. But anyway, an I-94 is typically used for non-immigrants, although you might adjust status later on.
Amazing you kept this wonderful news a secret from May till August
Good luck on your USA studies and adventures
Thank you!!!
Congratulations! Dari. Wish you all the best. You will make friends here & people welcomes you with open arms. You are a very friendly person.
Congratulations!!
Happy to see the warm acceptance from your followers in the comment section below. Would that each and every American appreciate you as much. I suspect you will encounter some small-minded zealots in America that do not share the enthusiasm towards you that is expressed here. Your joy is palpable. You have beauty and intelligence, wishing you great success in achieving your goals. Live long and prosper.
I am going to miss your accent.
Stay safe. New York is a tough city. I personally have not been.
I am in Colorado and go to Los Angeles and Las Vegas often.
I’ll check out Colorado one day 😃
YOU GO GIRL!!!!!😃👍
Congratulations, Dari!
You'll have spring break in March or April (usually a week), perhaps you can find a cheap flight to Canada or Mexico if you need to be outside of the USA at that time. You are going into such an exciting time of life- you've worked really hard for this I'm sure it will all work out for you.
Hopefully 🤞🏼
Congratulations and very good luck with ua stuides.
...and sometimes they skip a page when stamping, and some checkpoints stamp you in,- but not out - as my daughter's family has experienced in Mexico and Guatemala...
You can possibly go to the Canadian border (not to far from NYC)to renew your visa...
No, it will be impossible legally unfortunately. Mexico or Barbados will work tho.
Interesting, Definitely different from my family’s journey to America which may or may not involve almost suffocating on the back of a truck heading towards Texas
Congratulations MS. Dari. Welcome to the USA. So happy for you.
Nice video, Dari! I wish you all the best! You are hard working and smart- your future is bright! ✨
Congratulations ..👍…. As a New Yorker it will be a culture shock for you and a little difficult at first .. but they’re is not doubt you will fight through it and be successful.. GOOD LUCK..
Ahaha not at all) no cultural shocks at all 😹 feeling like at home!
I have never heard of anybody not getting a US visa once admission is confirmed regardless of which country you are from.
I heard)))
@dari Step hope all goes to plan! Take care hope to meet you someday! God Bless and Take Care!
Congratulations on securing a US visa! Come to Canada to renew your visa! It is closer than going to Mexico or Europe

Congrats again on getting your Visa Dari and for getting accepted for studying in the USA. I wish you happiness and success!
Thank you so much!!
Im a russian american trying to get my Russian Or Serbian paperwork myself
As a past F1 visa holder, I can tell you that you can remain in the US after the expiration date as long as you have a valid I-20. Assuming that you have an F1 visa, your I-20 determines your eligibility for staying in the USA. However, you do have to renew your visa in order to reenter the US after the expiration date. I am not an immigration expert. You should consult with the international student service at your school. Congratulations, and I wish you the best with your studies.
Nice presentation
You are very beautiful
Getting into the US sadly is just easier if you are willing to break the law than to do it legally.
Your Journey goes on Dari...... I hope you enjoy the USA.... :-)) xxx
Enjoy your new path ...
You so much deserve this!! 😊 Im happy for you 🎉
Thank you so much!!
I wonder if you could renew your visa early, at a time more convenient to you, and maybe that would change the time of year you need to renew each year. How about calling them and discussing your alternatives?
That's a great suggestion. It's better to resolve potential problems early.
this remind me when im applying student visa to uk and have to go for interview...
You made it HOURS inside a smoking cafe? God Bless you. I couldn't do that. I am allergic to nicotine so I would have gotten very sick.
Happy for you, congratulations ! Dreams do come true, we just have to follow them with persistance :)
Another way is to just go trough Mexico and then cross Rio Grande. You don't need visa in that case
Thank God you got through 🙏..
Follow your dreams honey...
Go for it.... Outstanding...
Look up Brighton beach , plenty of Russians and Ukrainians there, you might find a cheaper place...short commute to Manhattan....but be careful on subway... don't travel with money...protect yourself.
🫶🏼💕
Happy for you getting your Visa. As a US citizen, it has taken over a year to get my wife of 17 years back into the US. (We lived in the US for 3 years before moving to her home country of Finland). So, the US immigration process can be hard even for US citizens. Hope you have many successes and adventures in your studies.
I married a Brit last Sep. She still can't move here.
@@zedwpd It is horrible. Hang in there. I think by the end of the month my wife should get an interview date.
We are so happy for you Dari! You will do well and all the best from 🇺🇸. Welcome!
Well done! I hope you enjoy your studies at John Hopkins.
Belgrade being full of smokers sounds like it would give me a migraine. That makes me rather sad I might be unwell so perhaps I will skip it...
Congrats Dari! I would suggest you work on speaking English with an American accent (like Sophia Clare) before you get there. It's not that difficult and trust me it would make things a lot easier for you when you're there. God bless!
Well Sophia Clare is a Native American ))) and I’m not
I like to eat good and tasty foods. I still like Chinese foods. Flushing, Queens has bustling new Chinatown which is in the same borough as St. John's University.
Manhattan's Chinatown probably has the *cheapest* foods which I like (yes, Chinese!)
@keithtoy- You need to travel around America more & visit some states with wider diversity. There are so many accents, and it doesn’t matter.
Kind of ironic your fallback plan could have been to study in a country Russians have no difficulty traveling to and studying, working and doing business there. That said, I’m glad the news on your USA visa was positive and if you’re not already here you’re on your way. Again, welcome to the USA! 😊
Thanks!
🇺🇲Dari 😎🫶I like that nice little jet you have.♥️Love NY♥️
It seems they (US) put the VISA on a specific page ( like page 23 ) probably so they can find it easier.
Also, you probably want to go to Niagra Falls for your visa. It’s half New York and half Canada. Just don’t slip over the edge.
Just some English advice: You did not “break” your knee. You injured (or hurt) your knee. Breaking means a bone is in more than one piece.
Doesn't the sponsoring university file for the student to obtain visa to study at the university?? 😦😦😦😦😦😦
Dear Dari this is your entry visa to get inside the USA. You have to gain additional info from a foreign office for students in USA to get your temporary residence permit. You don't need to go back to Europe to renew your Visa. Visa is just for entry.
Poor girl.USA of your dreams is already becoming a nightmare but every has a right to make mistakes.
It largely depends upon how one fits in and one's mindset, whether a "horror movie" can be entertaining or scary.
Before my wife immigrated, the US always placed the visa in the back of the passport. She had three visas in her Turkish passport before becoming an American.
You speak with a unique voice. Interesting…..
I’m sure your UA-cam videos have significantly helped your ability to get an American scholarship and probably a visa too. We know who you are and where you stand on things. As far as your American viewers are concerned you are more than welcome here.
Was it easy to change Rubles to Dinars?
I didn’t have rubles to change :)
Congratulations, I am happy about this success
Glad to hear that everything worked out for you with your scholarship and visa. I hope you will have a good and successful time in America.
🇨🇦👍👋✌️👌🏾
Crying in the rain!
We believe in you, Dasha. Always have from the start. It is so nice to see your dreams come true. You are proof that east and west can come together and find harmony. I hope your channel continues to grow and grow to become more than what you envisioned from the start.
Thank you so much!!
The grass isn't always greener on the other side. good luck though.
Sometimes it IS!
Maybe it's because I live in Nebraska.
I live in Boulder, Colorado for 8 years, I suggest going there. Weather and scenery are awesome, and people are really friendly.
Hello Daria interesting to see your video. Can you tell me what you do for a living and how are you raising money to go to study in USA?
Shared everything in this video - ua-cam.com/video/2G3iUTMuAOM/v-deo.htmlsi=hS4iXLkecUg8TN5G
Never forget that NY City is one of the most dangerous places in the world to live.
Good experience for you!!❤
I really don't think it will be difficult to get a visa to come to the U.S. as a student. I live in New Jersey and I must tell that there are millions of people from Russia living on the East coast of our country. You will also be welcomed, even though a majority of people here in the U.S. do not care for the War in Ukraine, and the fact that our nation is pro-Ukraine. That war has nothing to do with the good honest young people from Russia. I have seen your videos in the past and find you to be a brilliant and creative young woman. You deserve a chance to expand your education here in the U.S.
Btw, you're going to love NYC! The food and culture of that wonderful city is unlimited, I hope you finally get your chance to come here soon.
Both playing parts pro nothing but fear & chaos & much lying
Congratulations!
Shrimp IS plural. Shrimps does not exist in english. Only in some southern and urban dialects will you hear multiple shrimp described as "shrimps". So you know.
You paid $29 dollars that is very good, I would think that Greece and Spain would be cheaper than that.
Last page? They don't expect you back.
Congrats!! We're all happy for you.
Will you be meeting up with your friend Zachery??
So much effort for probably nothing... don't you see that world is changing... anyway I hope you will reach your goals...god be with you my Russian sister, wish you all the best in future.
Congrats on getting the scholarship, and the visa! I hope you have a great time in the USA :) I live near Philadelphia, about 2 hours from where you'll be in NYC. I look forward to seeing your videos about your experiences in the USA, and hope you travel around some here when not in classes.
Why would you ever want to come to America? Jobs are hard to come by. Crime is out of control. The rents are unaffordable.
So they still have indoor smoking in Serbia? Wow, it has been decades since they banned that here in the US. It must have been awful having to hold your breath for so long.
I want to go to Belgrade....but Belgrade itself needs a visa...can someone explain to me how to get it
Happy for you, Dasha. Congratulations! Wishing you continued success in all your future endeavors.
I live in Belgrade and i rly dont know where you saw Ukaranian flags
We dont do that in here but ok xD
Amazing that you had to do so much work to get a Visa, while our southern border is wide open.
Sorry not been in touch Dari but I have been in hospital and my IPad was at home I have been catching up and I have been enjoying every minute of this!!!❤️❤️❤️ Nothing but huge love and respect Dari really glad to see things come together for you love David Porterxx ❤️❤️👄👄💖💖
If I was a US immigration officer I would take one look at you and say, "Yep, you can come to the USA." You wouldn't even have to sit down.
You need to be very aware of the crime in the cities in the USA. The USA is top ten in the world in crime and most crimes are not reported so really we are probably #1. 90% of the crime in the US takes place in the cities. In rural areas there is little to no crime. You should be safe on campus but be careful at night. When you are off campus the risk dramatically goes up. Queens has a high crime rate. As for the subway in New York City, you just never know, pretty much anything can happen.
Sorry about your rough start. Congratulations on your Visa! You wont have smoking inside when you get to the USA.
Thanks!!
Good luck
Ahh, the missing video that explains it all! I was wondering how many weeks you were back to Russia, from France, because I assumed it would take a long time to get a US VISA in Russia (Now explained)! So dangerous to get a US Visa, hope your knee is better! By now, your probably in New York and getting moved in. Welcome. Hope your 2k/month place is bigger than my closet! Nice to see your nails match your dress! 👍👍 Looking forward to your first video experience in the US! We already know there will be plenty of smiling! 😀😀😁😁
Ahahha thanks)))
13:22 You have to get used to scenes like this, even much worse, if you want to live in any of the big cities in America. Of course, there are very beautiful, clean parts, but honestly, I like Serbia more than America and Western Europe. I have my reasons why, the homeless are not the primary reason but something else. In America, people have a very bad sense of beauty, a sense of beautiful clothing, a sense of what is kitsch and what is not in clothing, in construction, when it comes to the interior of restaurants, shops,... Also, how food looks and tastes in USA. This is MY OWN SUBJECTIVE opinion. Let me go back to 13:22. Unlike most of the neighboring countries of the former Yugoslavia, we in Serbia did not kill our gypsies during World War II, so there are now about 400,000 of them in Serbia. Between 5 and 8% of the total population, officialy 2.6%. It is difficult to determine, because there are a large number of mixed marriages. The situation is similar across whole Eastern Europe, except Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. In Romania, Gypsies make up about 10 to 15% of the population, in Bulgaria the same. Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia, about 5%. ABOUT GRAY BUILDINGS in Belgrade. Yep, BEOGRAD it means WHITE CITY. BEO=WHITE, GRAD=CITY. But, Belgrade is mostly gray. In latest time mutch more gray because of bunch bunch bunch bunch glas s buildings in new part of the city. It is second half of the city, from the other side of the Danube and Sava river. So, buildings builded in SOCIAL REALISM style + glass buildings makes athe city looks very gray. But also, city is full full of greenery, forests makes probably 35% of surface of the city. Also, inside that GRAY buildings are the mostly super nice, super fancy, super clean bars, cafess, restaurants,... Belgrade is probably leader in Europe by number of cafess and restaurants per square km. They are on every corner of the city.
AT THE END. IF SOMEONE DO NOT LIKES GRAY BUILDINGS he or she can visit NOVI SAD, SUBOTICA, SOMBOR, u will be suprised with bunch bunch bunch of super old, super well maintained, super nice colored buildings from austrian period, builded mostly by rich serbian of that time.
Hi Dari I have been living in New York for almost 35 years lol. welcome to New Jersey and New York. Let me know if you need any airport pick up to your destination once you arrived in New York City. by the way, I’m flying to Kazakhstan then Turkey on September 7 from New York for vacation then returning back on September 25th :). hopefully one day looking forward to meet you in person :)
I'm sure everything will work out in America.
Congratulations and good luck for your study.
:( those poor animals kills me.
Шта ћеш у Србији кад ти се иде у САД.😂
So happy for you and your success! "Today is the first day of the rest of your life!"
I follow a very popular band from Russia (Leonid & Friends). They are extremely popular in America and do a long tour twice a year. For their visas they always go to the American embassy in Armenia - and never had any problems! Anyway, I am so happy for you and ALL of America anxiously awaits your arrival!! 😆😆
Congratulations!!
I can hear the excitement in your voice. Lots of stress with that Visa approval too, but you handled it all like a pro. I think the excitement is building. 👏
Big time congrats
12:43 ha ha ha ha, this is just advertising for some private university. This is famous building in Belgrade, from time of former Yugoslavia.
Lol 😂
@@DariStep We do not have one building where is concecntrated whole university, actually, university buildings are spread across whole city. Thats mostly well preserved old buildings from 19. centtury builded by rich Serbs of that time or buildings builded in style of yugoslavian modernism, also mostly very well preserved and maintained. Sorry about awful english.
There are now 600,000+ homeless in the US living on the streets 💔
Not bad for a country of 340 million.
