  • In this episode, I’m sharing six important rosemary plant benefits including a recipe for rosemary tapenade, which is a great way to address chronic inflammation (in a delicious way!). I love rosemary not only for how it smells, but also because this plant truly blurs the line between what is food and medicine. In other words, this is a potent medicinal hiding in your kitchen cabinet!
When might you reach for rosemary?
► To boost your memory, reduce anxiety and depression, and improve sleep quality.
► As a support for the heart and circulatory system, which is susceptible to oxidative stress. (Watch the whole episode to find out which herb British herbalist Jeremy Ross recommends pairing with rosemary for heart health…and when)
► To enhance your digestion, whether your digestion tends to be slow or cold or whether you’re eating a “heavy” meal
These are just a few of the occasions when rosemary can be your ally… But there are more, so tune in to the entire episode for all the details on the many medicinal benefits of the rosemary plant!
    After listening in, you’ll know:
► The best way to get your daily dose of antioxidants
► Which worked better for pain with menstruation: rosemary or NSAIDs
► What dosage of rosemary resulted in a significant beneficial effect on cognitive function in an elderly population in one short-term study
► Who needs to show caution in working with rosemary
    ► and much more

I've loved Rosemary for a very long time. It smells divine and is a yummy herb to drink, as an essential oil in recipes, for the scalp, to cook with etc. ❤ I love growing it and for dried I sometimes buy from Mountain Rose Herbs.

Rosemary is one of my favorite herbs. I absolutely love the smell. I live in the North East and have about five rosemary plants but they have never bloomed or looked as beautiful as the photos you showed. I’ll keep enjoying it anyhow. I love rosemary and lemon. I love it cold with a touch of honey. It’s a refreshing rosemary lemonade 😊Thank you for your great videos. I also love your books.

Rosemary can survive in a lot of climates but they thrive in heat and dryness. My rosemary plants never look as stellar as they do in mediterranean climates, but I love them all the same! Thanks for sharing!

What a great informational video. You're very pleasant in your presentation as well, and I'm so glad to showed up in my suggested videos! That sweater is what caught my eye though! It's gorgeous. I crochet (even as I watch this) and I'm guessing yours is knit...or something beyond my skill level. It looks lovely on you!
My dad has Dementia... It is my belief that rosemary sure can't hurt on so many levels.
I grind rosemary up in a coffee grinder and mix it with olive oil of whipped butter. It's such an amazing herb!

I have used Rosemary as a soak for sprained ankles in the past and hand pain (arthritis or injury) more recently. I use a pan large enough to soak in, a good amount of water, herb, with stems, bring to boil, then use as soak. I find I can heat it up 3 or 4 times. Luckily I have a friend who has a very large bush!
Improves pain and swelling. The water turns a beautiful shade of red, I think it could probably be used to stain papers, if you are interested!

Our pygmy goats love to use our rosemary shrub trees to scrub their heads. They invariably break off small limbs, so in the sprigs go to dry & use. My better half makes an amazing rosemary roast chicken. Rosemary is definitely one of our favorites.

If so, are there varieties that are better ?

    • @HerbsWithRosalee
      @HerbsWithRosalee  8 місяців тому +1

There are slightly different varieties available. If you are choosing rosemary to grow I would go by scent and by the USDA hardiness zone. If you are simply wondering about what to buy dried, always choose the freshest and most aromatic.

I actually bought a Rosemary plant from Bonnie plants, i would rather have found a good actual organic plant but I had not found any near me so I bought it and planted it thinking I'll find a better plant or good seeds later.
After watching your video i thought maybe i should pull it up and get rid of it.
      What would you do ?
