Thank you for posting this, I also missed this and glad I got to see it. Sometimes when im riding and feel strong and pick up the pace I usually hear "riding like a man possessed" in my head, from the many years Paul would say that. RIP Paul🤙
Spuds- That's pretty funny, because the Paul Sherwen phrase I often hear in my head when I'm riding is "completely and utterly exhausted". ;-) Thanks for posting this. I didn't know he had passed until Phil played this tribute. I started watching the Tour in 1999. It's just never going to be the same watching TDF without him. It's just not. I think one of my favorite memories is Phil saying something about that day's stage not being very exciting, so for variety he asked Paul to describe that day's stage in Swahili.
I met Paul during the 1990 race, we were coming back from the Grand Prix at Paul Ricard and had to take a detour and we came across the Tour De France. I have been hooked ever since, I really enjoyed the excellent commentary Paul & Phil provided and missed them when ITV4 began using Ned still excellent but I was so used to Paul & Phil. So knowledgeable easy listening. God bless Paul Sherwen, sorry I never got to see you race but by chance became a massive fan !
RIP Paul Sherwin, I think of you often when I watch a cycling race, and miss your voice there.
