I was just there filming in March, 2024. Honduras is rising, rapidly, albeit in fits and starts, but the general trend is gentrifying for the better. I used to do youtube videos promoting the best of Central America, seems there is interest for hour-long travel documentaries, so I've left my day job of high school edutaining in USA and going to try filming. You have a beautiful country of Honduras. Crown jewels are Utila, Roatan, Copan, Mosquito Coast and San Felipe Castle, but the number one crown jewels are the people, authentic, embracing and real.
You'll have an incredible time. Safe, pleasant, affordable. If you rent a vehicle, make sure it is a SUV that sits high off the ground. Roads are being expanded everywhere and occasional potholes aren't a good mix.
congrats..how many countries have you tackled and at what age did you begin?! Thanks for taking us on the ride...us older folks who haven't had the opp to do as y'all get to do now!
easy bus connection from San Pedro Sula…local bus to La Entrada, then a bus to Copan Ruinas…total cost about $5.Or if you come from Guatemala, easy bus from Chiquimula to the Florido border, then 15 minute bus to Copan. Lots of budget hotels in Copan. I am addicted to Copan…been there 8 times…and going back again soon. Make sure to visit the macaw sanctuary…a bit expensive but worth every penny.
@@wim1101wimmy aunt and I ended up renting a car and we drove to Copan from the San Pedro Sula Airport. It was a fun drive. We spent the night at a hotel in Copan. Copan is nice.
@@Prodigious1One I agree. Several nice hotels, the bird sanctuary, Copan Ruins and Luna Jaguar Spa. This region of Honduras is good for 4 nights/3 days at the very least.
I was enjoying your video until you said that there's nothing much to do in Copan, except for the ruins. I agree that ruins are indeed possibly the best of all Maya ruins. But your research on Copan is severely lacking; amateurish. If you would have asked anyone, they would have told you about McCaw Mountain Bird Sanctuary, or the Butterfly Museum, or the Coffee and Chocolate House, or the fabulous Hot Springs, or Flavia's Hacienda San Luca, or any of several day trips you can take on horseback up to coffee fincas, or the zip line. There's lots to do in Copan. Won't bother with your food video. You likely botched that, too.
@@augustomoreno1968and Chichen Itza has a theme park besides it? What does Machu Pichu have besides mountains and Alpacas? It's a world heritage site dude it's not supposed to be exilirating lmfao
and lest we forget, up the road about 45 minutes....Luna Jaguar Spa. I was in the region March 2024, filming an hour-long travel documentary on the best of Central America: Caribbean Interior of Honduras and Guatemala. Now searching out a distributor in the American film market. Great people and this film was made with locally sourced camera crew out of San Pedro Sula. I want to do more of these films as the crew is amazing and ready to showcase to the world the beauty of the Honduran people, country and culture. Salud!
Thanks for showing my lil town ❤️ it’s been 8 years since I left it 🥲

Hi, great video! Did you take the Hedman Alas bus from San Pedro Sula to Copan Ruinas? I'm trying to figure out how to get there.
Nope - I just took one of the local buses
@@195Under30 OK, how much did that cost? Did you spend one or two nights in Copan Ruinas?
