Final update: this little reel is the little engine that could ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e . It performed flawlessly and was easy to adjust drag in the moment while I was battling a 35lb bat ray behemoth. Mind you, this reel is spooled with only 25 lb braid and 25 mono topshot. It's paired with the kastking telescopic heavy power rod and the two work well together. This has now earned my respect and confidence when traveling and fishing. If you have ever hooked into large rays and sharks, you know they pull extremely hard and can run forever! This thing clamped down on the fish and was easy to adjust during the fight. It has a nice decently fast retrieve as well. Twice the fish went on mad runs and I was able to gain back line quickly to avoid spooling.
I grew up in south FL on the lake, best bass fishing ever. Hands down. I live in the mountains now and I miss it so much, love the vids. Keep em coming!

I live in Clearwater FL just moved from TN and I'm not loving this state at all :/ so I'm gonna try to get into some fishing and see what this is all about sounds like there's some fun to be had out fishing idk the difference from saltwater and freshwater fishing I have guys my whole life catch bass and catfish lol but I'm thinking no one comes to Florida to fish anything like that but I guess if ur at lake O like they are then maybe it's a different story but idk of any lakes like that round me

Cover fishing cracks me up. Last year I pulled in a pile of junk on a senko. It was a 14 ouncer with a 12 oz hydrilla wig. I didn't even know I had a fish. Thought I was pulling weeds.

If there's any bait u should use at okechobee it's either live golden shiners or a white or silver spinnerbaits 1/4 oz.
