Interesting video about the bridge Scottie. Thanks for posting it. Seen some interesting documentaries about it as well. In my years of shipping, I never sailed in or out of Oakland terminal I am sorry to say. I would have liked to get a look at it. Also, the Bay area looks a lot more interesting than Long Beach Harbor and its surrounding area.
My brother in law barely got off the bridge when the earthquake hit. He said he watch it collapse as he had about a 100 feet to be off with his semi. I remember it seemed like forever to hear that he made it off and was alive. We actually seen our semi in the news footage sitting at the edge of the bridge. He still drives semi.
@@scottied67 Scottie,I drove from 90 to 01 and am thinking about getting my CDL back and going otr,how do company's react to this new electronic logs don't that make it hard to deliver on time? Is it possible to make 50-60,000 a yr after a couple yrs experience or it that more talk from the carriers? I know I'll have to go to school agin because I have been out of it so long if it's ok with you Scottie I'm going to start asking you questions from time and also about company's also ok thx Scottie have a good night.
I was stationed there with the military, I just took the BART and ferry lol, never drove my car across any of those things :) Anyone ever said you sound like Bill Murray from Caddy Shack?
Snoqualmie Pass is closed..... they might route me down to Portland and across to eastern Washington that way to go get this swap... more than doubles my empty miles from 156 to 380 miles.....
I remember back in 1989 in Baytown, TX they had to build a bridge over the bay & do away with the tunnel under the bay. When ever the tide went out the ships would bump the under water tunnel & make it start leaking.

Gotta love that Bay Area traffic.

I remember crossing the old Bay Bridge back in the early 70's with my parents and the price to cross was .......25 cents.
I remember that in the 80's $0.25 and watched it go up over the years.
Where are you headed now
