I would like to give a big “Woo-hoo”for this video!!! The video was so easy to see each step and the mechanic was very knowledgeable without sounding too technical. My Ranger is a 2001 and I was about to give up finding a tutorial. Me and hubby are VERY pleased! Thank you for taking the time to share your expertise! 🔧⚙️🪛🧰🙌🏻

great, and complete video. You covered all the necessary steps, especially cleaning and lubricating, including cleaning the hub so the drum runs true. I have to do my 89 f150, which is probably very similar. I'm actually looking forward to it now

Where is the part about hooking up the e brake cable. That part probably had some f words in it so they didn’t include it. Made me have to do it twice because you left that part out. But you magically had it all hooked up without mentioning it.

What are you talking about ?
Actually I know what you are talking about.
I'm in the middle of doing my rear brakes right now.
And getting that f#$king e brake cable back on is f#$king impossible.
      By yourself.
I know if I had another pair of hands, I could get it.
      But no like a dork.
I thought, I'll just watch a video or two, and I'll get it.
      Now 25 videos later.
Not one of them ( so called) mechanics in those videos actually showed how they reinstalled that f#$king cable.
Now I come across this brilliant mechanic.
And he never takes the cable off of the bottom of the arm.
      Brilliant.
He just took the keeper off the pin and the pin out of the top of the brake shoe to be able to remove the shoe.
Then he leaves the arm hanging there on the cable.
      Brilliant.
I've spent 12 hours ( off and on ) trying to get that f#$king e brake cable on by myself.
      And still haven't got it.
I said f#$k it. Till I can get someone over to give me a hand.
But I know what to do on the other hub.
And you know what the screwed up part of this is.
I had already done these brakes, once before.
      And never had any problems.
      WTF.
      Anyway.

Needle nose vise grips (locking pliers) are great for drum brake jobs. Eye protection is essential for this job.
