Hello Peter, dugu, I’m so impressed, I used to live in Kenya 🇰🇪 when I was a teenager. I’m a car enthusiast,,,, and now I’m regretting selling my old carburettor car, my new project is already EFI, but very impressed with your kits 👊🏾💪🏽
Nice job peter. these days it works better we need it i. Pakistan aswell... 2ndly i suggest you to bring car ac compressor and water pump on electric which reduce the load on engine wil increase performance and fuel economy aswell
Hi Peter, I have an W124 230E 89, M102 wtith Ktronic and then another 230 CE M102 from 82, also with Ktronic. The engines are identical excerpt for the single control chain in the older engine. Could you give me an estimate fuel saving for this engine? I am looking at whether I am permitted to upgrade either or both without loosing my oldtimer reg. Thank you in advance.
Hello Peter. I would like to know if you can post the improved specs for the Mercedes Benz W123 such as the original mpg compared to the EFI specs and mpg? Thanks
Hello man, thank you for asking. Now, I've done two W123s, one with M115 engine(2L) and the other one with M110 engine (2.8L). The M115 had terrible hard starts and fouling plugs every now and then. I don't have the actual figures it was doing with the carburetor but it was clear it was consuming a lot as the plughs were always black. After conversion, fuel economy stood at 10.5 kms per liter town drive and highway could reach 12.8kms per liter. Driving style matters but I'm a bit heavy footed. For the M110, it came on flatbed as it had a failed K-jetronic system. After the conversion to EFI, It could reach 8 kms per liter town drive. I didn't run it long enough to know highway figures but could be around 9-11 kms per liter. Power increase is significant and you get to enjoy the freedom to define your driving style via drive modes.
@@PeterMbiria1 Which brings me to another question; regarding the driving modes- how much does it change the driving characteristics by affecting the suspension like it would on a modern Mercedes Benz? I realize it these are 44 year old cars.
Each drive mode responds different, Eco+, Economy, Comfort and Sport has less fuel to adequate fuel respectively. Ignition angle also is different for each drive mode, Eco+ has more ignition advance angle since it is a bit lean and Sport has less ignition advance angles as it is slightly rich. Fuel economy varies on engine capacity, drive mode and driving style. It doesn't mean while in Sport, it will terribly consume fuel,, Not really.
Hello Peter. I have a w123 230e M1029... engine. I had an aftermarket EFI system with a standard Dictator Engine Management System installed on it. The ignition system runs on an electronic points distributor, with a coil unit supplying voltage to all four spark plugs, via the distributor cap and rotor arm within. The fuel supply setup is similar to yours, consisting of a fuel rail and a non adjustable fuel pressure regulator. My interest is on the coil per spark plug setup that you have on you engine management i.e. each spark plug has an independent coil. Which are (coil and spark plug) independently wired and are thus accurately managed by the calibrated cpu. Meaning the engine runs smooth. It is my wish to upgrade to your setup. Is the product for sale? 👌👌

Hi There! Great project indeed! In simple terms, it's a software app running on a tiny computer like an Arduino or Raspberry Pi that controls how the engine behaves. This includes controlling timing of spark, fuel transfer, measuring amount of air intake, checking temperatures, sensing the crank and cam positions of the engine as it rotates, etc. The little app tracks all these values or parameters to improve its performance in many conditions like speed, fuel economy, or even increasing the torque on the wheels pulling a trailer load. Similar open source projects are Speeduino and LibreEMS! Very fun!
