- Hi 🩷 This month I wanted to do something a bit different (been doing a lot of botanical themes lately!) and I took some inspiration from Spanish/Portuguese azulejo tiles but did a simplified version and with a spring color palette! It was really fun and relaxing to draw these repetitive patterns and I hope you enjoy watching me create them too 🩷

azulejos are called that way for the blue design, that's why it has "azul" in its name. azul means blue! i'm brazilian and we have all sorts of them here, specially in cities where Portugal was first settled. my grandma's house had beautiful azulejo tiles on the walls and her neighbors had them both inside and outside of their house's walls. is kind of a nostalgic thing for me, now that i live so far from where i was born, so this theme spoke to me in a really close to home way ❤️
