Question; I finished the academy as an RCA, did the LLV training and I know I'm certified on that, but we ( my class ) are confused if we're also certified with the Metris. Since all we did was hop on it and play with the controls, but we're being told that was it.
took my driving test and i passed! personally i thought i bombed but im too much of a perfectionist. i was just struggling memorizing the course itself
I'm a city carrier and DSI (Driving Safety Instructor). Im a certified instructor for Texas also. Only had one failure in 8 years,as an instructor. Dude, could not back up without a back-up camera.
Are you really not allowed to tell your students if they passed or not, when he said I can’t tell you that I’ll send the info to your station, my heart sunk
@@kcgiovannetti8276 I work p/t for USPS delivering Amazon on Sundays. I had to go through right hand drive training as well. I didn't pass the first time, and my DSI told me the reason(didn't do well on alternate backing). Second time was with a different instructor, passed the obstacle course, and the road test, and was told that right away.
Well, you’re really not gonna like the LLV vans for the USPS, they date back to the late 80s and there’s no back up camera. They are also very uncomfortable to get in and out of and are usually filthy.
I'm currently on the offer phase ext list. It makes me feel so anxious but at the same time, I'm staying patient and utilizing my time preparing for what's next. Initially I chose the PSE Mail processing clerk position. But ultimately, I went for CCA. Being that I'm an introvert, this position suits me best and I'm just excited about the whole process. Like most newbies that have a driver license, I'm nervous, but I know I got this because I've been driving for a number of years. The classroom course for me was just noting the stuff I didnt know about and studying that. Then checking the internet for source material.
I’m so nervous because my state doesn’t require parallel parking so I never learned. And backing up without the camera I never tried 😭 I do use my mirrors but I also take advantage of the backup camera to be sure.
It’s easy to parallel park the LLV. You’re sitting on the right and can see the curb easily. The instructor broke it down step by step on how to park it. Easy peasy.
I’m taking mine at 12pm today this about to be a breeze coming out of Amazon driving a step van d.o.t vehicle dual wheel but still nervous not going to lie 😂
Been watching all your videos coming in from Fort Worth Texas , I applied for my job RCA on 10/27/2021 made a 92% on my assessment test , received my motor vehicle history check next day 10/28/2021 still waiting for some more emails
I appreciate you watching. It's yall day ones that have my videos getting more view. But you gone be good in the DFW if you're trying to work. They say they have the biggest plants up in Dallas. That's where all the packages go through. They are going to need you during the holidays
Question I just got my license I have experience in driving but some Karen told me I need 2 years of driving to be mail carrier. Don’t they train you though? Or do I haft to wait 2 years of me driving?
I got class A CDL license, left fedex express, worked for WM for 4.5 years (TOTALLY terrible non union gig) for CCA post office position. Im nervous but i know i can do it.
A guy in the class failed his test. He couldn’t back in without hitting the cones. The guy has a CDL A. Probably one of those over the road guys that never backed in.
I got hired as an RCA and I’m requested to use my own car so do they test to see if you can drive your own car on the right side because my car is kinda difficult to drive on the right side of my own car ?
What would be considered a fail? What happens if you don't do so well with parallel parking or the test as a whole? I haven't parallel parked since i passed my drivers test 2 yrs ago and im extremely nervous.
That’s not going to be an issue brother. Don’t let self limiting beliefs stop you. It’s not hard at all. You’ll learn. And you hardly ever have to parallel park.
Not the LLVs. They have a knob for cold air, but it’s just for show. Only the heater works, and theirs a fan. If you get lucky enough to be able to drive a METRIS, you’ll have ac and a radio.
I only drove the 2 Ton on the street. It couldn’t have been longer than 25 minutes. The LLV training was just in there course. That was like 5 minutes.
I applied for cca position I got a 98 on my test i got an offer last year as a rca but didn’t want to drive my own vehicle but I have one accident on my mvr I was not determined to be at fault or at fault but I was wondering since this position will have you driving actual mail trucks would that one accident be weighted different
When you test in the LLV (mail truck) you’ll be in front of the people you’re in academy with. That’s done in their parking lot. When you train in the 2 ton truck, you drive with one instructor individually.
There was 3 of us in the yard. 3 CCAs and 3 instructors. It’s one on one training but the instructors would switch it up. It was cool getting a different perspective from each instructor.
About 2 years. Unless you’re at a station with open routes. Mine is full, but I’m close to a town where ppl go career in a few months. A lot of ppl quit up there
Day 1 is orientation. 2 is defensive driving class. 3 is road test. 4 is shadow day. 5-8 is carrier academy. 9-11 is on the job training. Day 12 you’re out on your own, on the streets.
I failed mine today, and I was so disappointed. It is impossible to pass if you haven’t driven an LLV before. The feel of the steering wheel is totally different, plus you're driving on the right side. I wasn’t even given a chance to familiarize myself with how the vehicle feels. My instructor doesn’t really care if I pass or not; once I’m in, he told me to drive to the driving course and do parallel parking and reverse parking. He knows I can handle it; if not, he would schedule me for another test.I’m hoping I get next time. They are very strict; there’s no way you can pass it without LLV experience.

These types of vans equipment hello from Montrose Colorado USA we could use new vans and semitrucks here.june 2023.
