- AC/DC performing live at Tushino-Airfield, Moscow, Russia (USSR) on September 28th, 1991 during the '91 Monsters Of Rock Festival (The Razor's Edge Tour).
These clips were release on For Those About To Rock DVD, from 1992, original undubbed audio from Plug Me In.
In 1991 Boris Yeltsin invited AC/DC (and remaining bands on the Monster of Rock) to headline a free concert for young russians who blocked a communist coup. The crowd reached a staggering number of 1,6 million people.

Well, almost. The tracks were touched up in post. There are some flubs on the soundboard version. Still great, though.

These are the untouched versions. On the dubs, Brian has a distinctively different voice than he does during the live shows. Same with the drums and the guitar tones
Brian's vocals aren't as powerful/clear here as on studio recording.

It's remarkable how similar this concert is to the one AC/DC played at Donington in 1992, so close it's hard to tell the difference between the two!

Great show and incredible history. But along these heroic shots of Yeltsin and nationalist flags the truth must be noted: In the first 10 years after the fall of the USSR, the average life-span in Russia decreased by 10 years. In short, the fall of Communism in Russia was an economic and human catastrophe. Worse than most of history's wars and cataclysms.
I was there and It was a transition - not a catastrophe. Hyperbole is way overused sometimes.
Well yeah when an economy hits rock bottom and also has do tho the market switch there will obviously be hard times ahead, but you can only rise from that for better or worse so to speak. Poland is a great example of that
As much of a catastrophe as the 10 million who died in gulag? Or the millions of Ukrainians intentionally starved to death while their abundant grain was taken by Stalin to support Moscow and Leningrad and Stalingrad? Or the countless soldiers who returned from “The Great Patriotic War” and were sent to gulag to prevent them from talking about the standard of living enjoyed in free nations? Or children encouraged to betray their parents to the NKVD like young Pavlik Morozov? I weep for this great nation and continually ask “What on earth happened to Russia?” What keeps happening? What is the glitch that prevents Russian and Russians from leaving dictatorship behind?
All the countries on this planet could be friends if not for imperialistic ambitions period. Great concert, great music, such a shame that Russia fell back into its old ways... For the Putler bots, the last western invasions in Afghanistan and Iraq, which started nearly two decades ago, were to topple the authoritarian/despotic regimes and hand power to the people. Not invade and steal land.
