Chris Slade's control of the rhythm is absolutely incredible, and it's so fast. I tried playing the drums to this song, this version, but I could only manage for a short time. I couldn't keep up like he does for an extended period. This song truly showcases his outstanding performance. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love that section where only the rhythm is left. It was like their unofficial "Hey just so you know, we're the best rhythm section ever." That part gets me so pumped for some reason. Like the calm before a storm.
I saw them in Montreal a few weeks before this was filmed. The newspaper next day wrote that band's rhythm section was 'crunching and grinding like a diseased, diesel-fuelled heart'. Yep, that's why we love it
Just WOW! Slade keeping that pace the entire time is incredible. And during the time Angus was goin from main stage to the crowd it sounds like Malcolm has the distortion set as low as possible or maybe even no distortion, but when its turned to 11 it sounds so good!!
I love how Cliff plays little fills and licks around the chords too. And when he's not, he's pounding that bass line during the vocal section. So awesome💪🏻🙌🏻 Love seeing him in the background bobbing his head to Chris's nonstop beat!
At about 4:30 Angus noticed that something is wrong with his Guitar. At 4:57 Malcolm looks around, takes two steps back and tries to shout something to Chris. Probably that something is wrong. At about 5:00 Chris was like: "Wtf, where is he?"Chris had to endure more minutes of hitting the drums at that tempo to save the performance. At 6:00 Angus appears with the Red Guitar, which was not sounded so good, so the solo was short. Chris still hits the drums like crazy. At 9:05 the black Giuitar was finnaly fixed and Angus gives a sign. Actually because of Guitar issues, they improvised and they improvised like a pros. And no one even noticed.
no not really. at 4:30 angus is done with this solo which was spot on every note and nothing wrong with the guitar. he disappears backstage getting into is oxygen tent having a quick sip of coffee and then get on the elevator platform and do his thing. it takes him less than 90 sec to get off the stage on the elevator platform which is not that long anyways when u think about it. at this point they routinely switch guitars to use the time to tune up the black one. unfortunately when he bounces his body into the elevator platform at 6:37 he damages the wireless or a cable thus the sound keeps cutting out, so this part on the elvator is cut short and he goes backstage to pick up the black SG again. takes him about 2 minutes to get back on stage, might have made a quick run to the toilet there ;) this whole thing is the same routine throughout every concert except the part where the wireless got fucked up on the elevator platform. there is actually something going wrong but you missed it :) at 2:36 and in some other moments you can hear something that sounds like backstage radio communication through the main PA speakers, malcolm notices it.
I partly agree, but.. If you look other video of the same song, like: Live at River Plate; Angus never switch a guitar. Also he never disappears in backstage, and there is no routinely guitar switch for tune up? The whole song and solo is played without interruptions or guitar switching. So, my opinion is, that this performance was not so routined. I agree about radio communication. I didn't noticed before. Very interesting, tnx for that :
I appreciate your opinion. All i can say is that i play guitar and i can tell you that the solo is perfectly spot on and he went out on it just as he had intended to do, there is nothing off about it at all. At 4:20 it goes into the final part of the dramaturgy and at 4:30 its done and he holds on to the last note and lets it ring for a couple seconds before sliding his hand over the fretboard making the sliding noise and finally turning down the volume pot on the axe and running backstage. Check out premier guitar acdc on youtube, they go visit their tech at a show backstage and he explains angus guitar, equipment and how the show works. Apparently Angus does few guitar changes usually he finds one main axe that he likes very much and keeps only one or two at maximum as backup if he needs a tune up, he goes between songs to his tech at the side of the stage and asks him if he is still in tune very much, its hard at the deafening volume on stage to hear it perfectly himself. At the river plate show he did not have to leave the stage to get on the elevator platform in the first place because its connected to the stage, and apparently he felt he was in tune allright and there was no opportunity and no need to switch guitars, so he simply pulled through. At donington he had to get backstage and under or around the stage and into the audience place to get on the elevator that is quite a walk. I am pretty sure it was planned beforehand to change guitars at this point just for the sake of putting the black one on a tuner and getting it to perfect pitch as this was a taped show and they tried to get it perfect, and at this point its a good opportunity to do that. I meant to say at every concert where there is this stage setup with the elevator platform singled out he has to go backstage and disappear to get to it. Too bad angus slammed the wireless on the platform and this solo did not work and he had to cut it off early. Check this out, he goes backstage here as well, to do something else.. ;) ua-cam.com/video/DVD5B0wUjfQ/v-deo.html
max bauer, tnx for fair debate. At the end, all it matters is a good perfomance, and good music no metter what. Wish you all the best, and cheers mate!! Long live Rock and Roll!! :)

Without a doubt THE best band live, absolute quality....i hope they do another tour as I've seen mettalica, iron maiden, Aerosmith, Bon jovi and apart from certain elements of metallica and iron maiden this band blows them out of the park...absolutely A1👍
all grooving together wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!
Chris Slade is a machine!
Some critic, I can't remember who, said the same thing about Phil Rudd. Too bad Phil couldn't stay clean.
Yes! Chris is a better drummer of the history of the AC/DC
Never stop
@@F_The_JackOficial_FTJ Nah nobody knows for sure lol
@@charleswalter2902 Neither could Chris! What you witness here is a concert in doubletime driven by a drummer on cocaine!
Pure Rock And Roll.....ohhhhh I have goosebumps. ACDC Forever
In my opinion this is the greatest version of this song out there. AC/DC was really at the top of their game during this concert
I like the first tempo, it’s like punk rock AC/DC
U. Are so right. And now please keep listening we have more turns for u today to hear just please keep listening we love all ur responses ❤️ 💙 for the music we share from are souls thanks 😊 fantastic fan and. You ate completely spot on ....the rythym section in this song just takes it to another level
Check out live at the Apollo
It's too fast, thanks to Slade, and Brian's voice was already almost gone by this time.
Malcolm young is absolutely SMASHING IT
Brian really hit that high note the sound of angus’s shredding Malcom’s tang and crunch cliffs pounding bass and Chris Slade’s drums.
Like the calm before a storm.
yup, I could listen to that section for hours. It just goes into your blood and whole body.
Chris said previously the solo and his cymbal solo went for much longer but they edited shorter. What a mistake that was
I always liked that too, how come something so simple is what we like the most 🤔?
I saw them in Montreal a few weeks before this was filmed. The newspaper next day wrote that band's rhythm section was 'crunching and grinding like a diseased, diesel-fuelled heart'. Yep, that's why we love it
Karesuando 46,3°
How does Chris, the drummer, do that? 2/4 rate for nearly 20 minutes, all with a smile on his face. Awesome!
He just hits those damn drums as fast as he needs to for as long as he needs to :P
Dude it's easier if you use Phil Rudd's technique actually but as a drummer, I'm surprised too.
Edvin Janols but still. Chris is an amzing drummer
Roadkill The Fox Yes
Chris Slade is a freaking BEAST but then again so is Phil Rudd
Fantastic, what a huge charisma Chris has
Just WOW! Slade keeping that pace the entire time is incredible. And during the time Angus was goin from main stage to the crowd it sounds like Malcolm has the distortion set as low as possible or maybe even no distortion, but when its turned to 11 it sounds so good!!
Chris slade is AMAZING at keeping a drum beat REALLY fast .
He’s my idol
I love how Cliff plays little fills and licks around the chords too. And when he's not, he's pounding that bass line during the vocal section. So awesome💪🏻🙌🏻
Love seeing him in the background bobbing his head to Chris's nonstop beat!
I can just listen to Chris, Cliff & Malcolm play the same beat over & over!!
And this is why I picked up the guitar and never looked back. What an inspiration this band is to me. LEGENDS!
Excellant. Been a fan since 76.im 77 now . One of the best rock and roll bands EVER!!!!❤
And no one even noticed.
no not really. at 4:30 angus is done with this solo which was spot on every note and nothing wrong with the guitar.
he disappears backstage getting into is oxygen tent having a quick sip of coffee and then get on the elevator platform and do his thing.
it takes him less than 90 sec to get off the stage on the elevator platform which is not that long anyways when u think about it.
at this point they routinely switch guitars to use the time to tune up the black one.
unfortunately when he bounces his body into the elevator platform at 6:37 he damages the wireless or a cable thus the sound keeps cutting out, so this part on the elvator is cut short and he goes backstage to pick up the black SG again.
takes him about 2 minutes to get back on stage, might have made a quick run to the toilet there ;)
this whole thing is the same routine throughout every concert except the part where the wireless got fucked up on the elevator platform.
there is actually something going wrong but you missed it :)
at 2:36 and in some other moments you can hear something that sounds like backstage radio communication through the main PA speakers, malcolm notices it.
Check this out, he goes backstage here as well, to do something else.. ;)

max bauer, tnx for fair debate. At the end, all it matters is a good perfomance, and good music no metter what. Wish you all the best, and cheers mate!! Long live Rock and Roll!! :)
cheers mate you too! thats the way! if you wanna rockn roll :D
Today I cried for Malcolm, thanks mate, you are truly missed my brother. AC/DC, long live the KINGS.
Величайшее исполнение в истории РОКА- аплодисменты...
Fantastic Chris Slade!!!
I recall reading Dave Gilmour saying that Chris Slade was the best live drummer in the world. Well, I've never seen better!
It's been said before but CHRIS SLADE is absolutely killing it here. My arms would fall off after 5 minutes...
As a drummer myself for almost 20 years, what Chris Slade did here is legendary. Like absolutely insane from how clean he kept that going and for so long. I’ve seen this video hundreds of times and it still blows my mind. He was the best addition to that band at the time, after I heard him on the records and these live shows. Was never huge fan of Phil Rudd
Phil was more in the pocket type of drummer which mal liked. Chris is more technical still prefer Phil personally
@@josephbuckley5961 я тоже предпочитаю игру Филла, спасибо тебе дружище!
Chris Slade took the boys by surprise with that faster than shit pace. Noticed Mal and Cliff had to bust ass to keep 👆
@@jhorse4147 You have no idea. Tempo is set by Angus
Couldn't have said it better myself. Total awe of this guy. Shits over any Rudd's performances. Groove my arse.
Мы умрем, но эти ролики останутся в веках......
Rock out to this everyday, Chris is a beast of a drummer. AC/DC....FOREVER!!!

Nah it ain't even hard. You kids are just out of shape lol
Very lol
ikr thats what i was jsut thinking
Hes the best. I wish he had the drums Sonor Phil played with. They had thump
@@bowens9211 I’m a drummer and playing 8th notes on the hi-hat at that speed for over 10 minutes is RIDICULOUSLY hard! You need to have insane endurance to be able to play like that.
Chris, you are the best drummer that AC/DC has EVER HAD!!!!❤
Absolut
yep
totally
Not according to most AC/DC fans
Rock will always be friggin awesome!!
Been rocking for 58 years and it keeps the blood pumping till this day..
Chris Slade is one of my favourite musicians of all time, his performance at Donington was one of the reasons I got into drumming. One of the best fellow Welsh musicians to ever grace the land! He Casts a gargantuan shadow over twats like Phil Campbell from Motorhead! Everyone should be like Chris. :)
Why the hate for Phil Campbell though? Genuinely asking
Phil Campbell was a cracking drummer why bad mouth him?
Мало кто сравнится может с AC/DC! ЛЕГЕНДЫ НА ВЕКА!💥💣🙏
ANGUS the king,AC/DC the best!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
AC⚡DC come to Italy please!!! 🎸🤟
