God that guy on the right of the thumbnail is hot, and that Ballah guy is insane being a pro at 700 hours (actually was around 400), excited to see what he can do in Splitgate 2!
Curious what your input on gyro controllers are as well. Personally I'd love to see more of the removal of aim assist and lean into encouraging people to use gyro in SG2.
The Linus Tech Tips video I referenced is actually about just that! I think it has a lot of potential. But it creates its own problem if it's just plopped into the game: it would be completely broken. 1047 has mentioned that they are receptive to the idea of implementing gyro aim as a feature, but if they do then they ABSOLUTELY MUST do something about aim assist, because gyro aim plus aim assist would clown on everything else. The easiest option would be that controller players have to choose between gyro aim and aim assist. However, if the option to use joystick aim and keep aim assist remains then it will definitely be stronger than gyro aim because it's already stronger than mouse aiming (unless it's nerfed of course), so it would be a nice option but wouldn't affect the competitive scene. Additionally, Xbox controllers still don't support gyro aiming, so Splitgate 2 would still have to support joystick aiming with aim assist if it wants to market to those who play with Xbox controllers (including the overwhelming majority of Xbox players). Even if all controllers supported gyro aiming and aim assist was weakened or removed to incentivize it, I still doubt that would achieve what 1047 is hoping for with input balance at a high level because even if gyro aiming was as strong unassisted as mouse aiming (which I doubt), KBM would still have an advantage with portaling.
Competitive games need to be mouse and k only. Controller is for your casual noob. It’s why the entire Valorant community hates on anyone who plays it on console. You’re playing a watered down fake version of the actual game.
I agree that keyboard and mouse is way more fun and that fps esports would be more fun and exciting without controller players (at least ones that use aim assist, which is all is them; if they didn't use aim assist it's likely that not a single one could compete). However, 1047 Games clearly want controller to have its own place in competitive play, so I try to steer the discussion toward potential balance improvements that could make the game more fun and fair without compromising 1047's goals.
Yeahs exactly I dont see any M&k player complaining fighting games favours controler Likewise fps and strategy games favours M&K só what?adapt and move on
aim assist needs to be weaker than it is in the first game I have played games on kbm all my life and I am top 500 on xdefiant with it but in splitgate I pretty much doubled my acc after like 2 weeks of controller
yeah man, splitgate kbm pros tend to reach the same level on controller in about a week, versus the other way around, where it can sometimes take 2 years lol
What do you guys think about aim assist in competitive shooters, and in Splitgate specifically?
It worked in halo so yes also you have to account for full arm movement with mouse and keyboard

Self glazing goes hard 🔥🔥🔥
Interesting topic gyro could be a solution however it isn't on every controller. Unexpected Ballah cooking session 😭💀
Gyro is actually an awesome experience once you get use to it

Realistically MnK n controller should simply be split into two different games, like valorant as you mentioned.

I make game centered music that's free to use. I'll make some instrumentals for commentaries too. Ill get started asap
