The greatest band ever! Period. I’m 53 yo and still remember the 70’s as kid listening to EWF. I’ve never stop listening to them thru my life and won’t. Great piece thanks
I was in Sweden at a Sales Conference in 1991, and everyone was just drinking in the Evening with no music happening-I went and grabbed the EWF CD I had brought with me, popped it in the player and the place went WILD! The Swedes were dancing like crazy and the mood was as festive and fun as I had ever seen-great memory for me!
I've seen countless live concerts, many from legendary bands and artists like Paul McCartney, Rush, Chicago, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Journey, Kansas, Styx, Boston, Cheap Trick, Elton John, Judas Priest, Def Leppard, Metallica and the list goes on and on and on and on. But the band that still stands way above all of the rest as the most amazing live band experience will always be Earth Wind and Fire. I started listening to this band since I was a kid in the 70's and I still love them to this day. Never get tired of listening to their music. What an amazing band. And what a true musical genius the late Maurice White was. And don't get me started on Phillip Bayley. What an incredible singer and performer. I just feel fortunate to have experienced that amazing band live twice. One with Maurice and one a couple years ago without him. And yeah... he will always be terribly missed, but kudos to the band for keeping his spirit alive. The band still sounds incredible.
Earth, Wind, & Fire - absolutely sensational. Have you heard Philip Bailey's epic vocals on "I'll Write A Song For You" off their "All n' All" 1977 Album?!!! They maybe be the best R&B band along with those Detroit Spinners (with Philipe Wynne) and/or even Ronald Isley and the great Isley Brothers but overall, no one compares or even comes close to The Mighty Led Zeppelin, greatest band ever!
I'm grateful that I came up at a time as a young teenager listening to EWF. We simply need that kind of creativity and musicianship today. As a musician I miss that energy and commitment to a great song.
I somehow, at 51 years old, saw them for the very first time last year here in NYC at the Beacon... and OMFG, what a show. One of the best shows I've ever seen, and my wife's all-time fav concert. And HOW ON EARTH can Philip STILL HIT THOSE NOTES at 70?! Insane.

“That’s the Way of the World” will always be my National Anthem! Thanks Professor for such an eloquently stated narrative of the genius and mastery of Maurice White...........RIP, May your Star shine eternally.
Love that song, but I just like this wonderful tribute to EWF period. I literally grew up listening to them, and they're one of the best and most diverse and souful/funky bands ever. My fave songs by them are all the ones the Professor of Rock highlighted, as well as Side By Side, You Can't Hide Love, Serpentine Fire, Thinking of You, Keep Your Head To The Sky, Boogie Wonderland, Fantasy--one of their greatest songs right there---and Feel The Fire, one of their real early songs--and the beautiful Evil, with the sound od that ovely kalimba playing all throughout it. The equally wonderful Devotion is probably the first song I ever heard by them, period.
Oh, yeah, and their 1978 remake of the Beatles' Got To Get You Into My Life is even better than the original, which is saying a lot considering how good the original song was. EWF livened it the hell up and made it sound even happier and much better.
@@roncoleman7813 thank you so much 🙏 I can remember til this day when this Album "All n' All" was just released, 92.5 our radio station here in San Diego play the album on live broadcast side 1 and then side 2, and till this day after many years I have not heard any radio station or this radio station do it again.
Be Ever Wonderful is a song that takes to another level of peace. As well as See the Light. Spiritually praising the one Above. Thanks Maurice for everything. God Bless Brother 🎶🙏❤️🤙😎
EWF, one of the greatest bands in American music history, everyone in the world knows as least one EWF song. Amazing band and Maurice White's, Phillip Bailey and Verdeen White. Gosh, just mesmerizing.
Earth Wind & Fire was the first band to get my attention, mind, and heart as a child. They were the foundation for my love for music. I'll always thank my parents for that. The only time we went to a concert as a family was to see them in concert.
It's a sobering moment when you, in your fifties, have to be taught the lyrics to "September" by a teenage daughter. You realize then that you wasted a very important part of your life - the time you could have listened to "September" a few more times and got the lyrics right :-)
The brighter side is E,W&F music is so good your daughter of a new generation is listening close enough to the music to learn the lyrics. That just goes to show how good and inspiring E,W&F was/is.
Can’t Hide Love is easily my #1 as well. Be sure and check out both Wayman Tisdale’s (RIP) instrumental version from 2001 and this newer remix of the original: ua-cam.com/video/xqOwPpCyiYk/v-deo.html
Maurice himself said that That's the way of the world is their Anthem, the song changed everything for them made them Superstars their collaboration with Charles Stepney, no 1 nuff said
They are amazing and I have been a fan since the 70’s. I’ve been lucky to see them close to 30 times in my life. I just can’t get enough of this fantastic band!
My favorite Earth Wind and Fire song is Sun Goddess, originally recorded with the great Ramsay Lewis in (I think) 1974. The original recording is incredible. However I love the live version from the album Gratitude from 1975. The saxophone solo on the live version blows me away every time and the Rhodes piano solo is sublime and beautiful. Truly one of the greatest bands in history.
I love Earth Wind and Fire! ❤ I've been a fan since the 80s! When I was little I first heard them with the song Let's Groove!!!! That was the jam for me back then! It was my Nina Sandy who really introduced me to EWFs music from the 70s! She saw them in concert in the 70s. She said the concert was AMAZING! After she played their music from the 70s for me, I was never the same!!!! All through my high school years I was all about the soul, funk, R & B, and disco music from the 70s! I have a lot of favorite EWF songs and they have changed as I've gotten older. BUT!!!!! hands down my favorite EWF song will always be SERPENTINE FIRE!!!! ❤❤❤❤ AWWWWW MAN!!!! Hands down my favorite EWF song. Serpentine Fire has it all for me! You got those famous EWF horns, the cowbells, and a funk groove! Vocal wise, you have Maurice with that soul and funk voice and him giving that OWWW! every so often. If that wasnt enough then Phillip Bailey with his amazing high falsetto voice! With this song you get it all! You get all the EWF goods! I have to end this comment with a RIP Maurice White! An amazing and extremely talented man. You are very much missed and loved! ❤❤
Earth, Wind and Fire is one of the greatest groups if all times, great roller skating songs and the best boogie music ever, loved Maurice RIP great one, gone but never forgotten 💙 💔 ❤ 😢 🙏
Earth, Wind & Fire. What fantastic music they produced man. It is almost impossible to listen to "Boogie Wonderland" or "Let's Groove" "That's the Way of the World" etc. and not want to dance. My parents were big EW & Fire fans so I grew up with them. Timeless, classic music that always makes you feel good.
I have been to many concerts in my life, but THE best concerts I've ever been to were EWF. The band is electrifying. The love that comes forth from these players is palpable. The talent is unbelievable.
What a great segment. I've been an EWF fan since the late 70s. I got to see them in concert twice, once in Cologne, Germany in the early 80s and again in Salt Lake City in the 90s. Great memories, especially of hearing Phillip Bailey sing Devotion and hit those notes that could call dogs from miles around! And who could forget Verdine's joyously energetic performance on bass. Some other favorite songs are Fantasy, In the Stone and I'll Write a Song for You. Like September, any of those songs could pull me out of a bad mood. Thanks for doing this. Nice to see EWF appreciated!
Earth Wind & Fire taught me the Afrocentric aspects and pride, of being a young Black man in the early 1970's. I saw them many times in the US and on Okinawa Japan when I was stationed there, and managed to get his autograph and briefly speak to him, as he was coming back on Kadena AFB from Gate 2 street! There's the positive and pro-social aspects and the religious messages in their music. I love all the group members current and former, and may God bless the group and the vision of EWF! Ron Higgins Sr Kingston, NY
Indeed I discovered afrocentricism through their albums covers in 70s. Everyone in my neighbourhood was trying to decipher the meaning of all the symbols on their albums. They were the first ones to mention Egyptology culture from a black perspective.😇🙌🏾
@@mondingo67 When I first noticed the imagery for Marvel's most recent Black Panther craze, my first mental references were EWF album covers. Due credit to EWF for pointing the way to Wakanda :)
I grew up with various bands in the Woodstock era and progressed to the soul and funk era. Earth, Wind and Fire is the only band that first caught my attention with the unique name for a band. Then it was the funk era and the music, harmony, dance choreography, lyrics, etc; from EWF is without doubt, stood out from the rest.
I have only seen EWF once and that was on their SPIRIT tour after Charles Stepney passed away. After they announced that Stepney had died and the album was dedicated to his memory, I remember a single light shining down on Philip Bailey as he sang the albums title song SPIRIT. I was just a kid but I remember that image so vividly and the song had such an impact that I've carried the memory until this day (I'm 57 now).
A recent overview of Charles Stephney's own solo stuff and work called Step by Step was just released by his daughters last month---he was quite a visionary music producer--and a working jazz musician himself---who produced the music of acts like the Rotary Connection, Minnie Ripterton's classic début album Come To My Garden, and Deniece Williams' debut Niecy---which Maurice White also co-produced. There's an article on the site of the British paper The Guardian that's an overview of his work.
@@alondathomas293 yeah, Charles Stepney has really been very important for ewf. I consider "That's the way of the world" their most impressive album. I can still sing along all the songs. And yes, it is good that the Professor mentioned"reasons". So good!!
Earth Wind and Fire is the greatest band ever and there songs are out standing no one can come close to Phillip Bailey with that high pitch voice of his and the great Maurice White was a genius that brought so many different sounds to dance and cry to I know he is looking down on the rest and smiling that they are carrying on his legacy RIP RIP Maurice White 😇😇
No way for me to limit this to top 5. Not even top 10 captures all of my favorites: 10. Imagination 9. Devotion 8. Be Ever Wonderful 7. I'll Write a Song for You 6. Fall In Love with Me 5. Love's Holiday 4. Fantasy 3. Can't Hide Love 2. Wait 1. You (an underrated song that moves me to tears)
Great list. I’m not familiar with Fall In Love With Me but I absolutely love every other song on this list. I haven’t seen many other people point out the wonderfulness of Imagination and Be Ever Wonderful for example.
Earth Wind @ Fire 🔥 Their is no way to say what should be said about this Group ! They Certainly Deserved the Kennedy Honor 🎖🥇I just have wished Maurice Could have been with them that night . RIP !!!! Maurice 🥁 I have sat for hours and listened to their music 🎼70s @ 80s Another job well done PROFESSOR 🕵️♀️🏆
EWF was from another dimension, and I believe what most musicians aspire to be. They embodied the excitement, the showmanship, the passion, and the beauty of their craft. Their music seemed to lift you to a higher place. A place where music was reversed in our distant past, and brought joy and love to all who were fortunate enough to be a part of it. They will always be on the playlist of my life. Turn up their tunes and "Let's Groove Tonight" everyone ❣️
My favorite R&B, soul, funk bands in the 70's hands down! Dancing to Boogie Wonderland at the disco!! But September is a song that definitely elevates me immediately! Especially when I'm driving....yep that's me singing and dancing in my seat next to you at the stop light!
My son and I fell in love with Boogie Wonderland, as we would watch Madagascar a million times. We'd stand up and boogie whenever the opening Zoo scene begins. LOL
U should have gotten to be around to remember them when they started the band ! Thank the Good Lord I was apart of seeing them reach the STARS ✨ at the beginning! Iam getting Old ! 👀
I grew up listening to EWF!! My dad LOVED their sound!! There were certain albums that we would end up listening to EVERY SUNDAY MORNING!! Blood Sweat and Tears, Stevie Wonder, Chicago and EWF... Thank you Daddy for a FULL and COMPLETE music education... WAY TO GO, PROF!! Yet another EXCELLENT episode!! I’m joining your Patrion!!
As a music journalist and EWF expert, I must say Bravo to you. This is so well done, and you did it was such enthusiasm, research and reverence. Thanks for using your platform to educate folks on, IMO, the greatest band of the 20th century.
My very first concert at 7 was EWF. Can't begin to tell you how, to this very day, this group changed my life because of the universal theme of love and togetherness that brings us closer. Didn't think about race or anything heavy at that time, just the joy of an EWF song was uplifting, soothing and put you in a good place. Thank you for this because these artists from the 70's/80's were very much a big part of why I fell in love with music back then and they need to be recognized and given that same love and joy they gave us. God Bless!!!
Wow, you have some GREAT folks taking a 7-year-old to a EWF concert. Like you, my first EWF concert was around 1974 at the University of Dayton Area. A life-changing event.
EW & F is the biggest musical influence in my early childhood and growing up. They were the reason why I loved to sing with my older brother when used to run errands for our mom. Singing to EW & F on an 8 track tape. Precious.
Miss Maurice White very much! 😢 While ‘Got to Get You into My Life’ is a Beatles song, EFW total owns it with their cover of it. They will always be one of my favorite bands!! ❤️
Kari J.: Hell yeah----EWF's version of Got To Get You Into My Life is even better than the original, and I rarely say that about any Beatles song. It's much more happier, livelier and more fun, too.
I had the honor of seeing Earth Wind and Fire live in NOLA last year at the Jazz fest. When we got home, I tried to listen to some of their records. They were SO GOOD that I couldn’t listen to the recordings. Phillip Bailey...No words. Greatest band of all time.
Man, I remember when these all (5) were released. I've always been a huge fan and really miss Maurice. It's amazing how well Philip stepped up after Maurice took ill and sang both his & Maurice's parts flawlessly. They HAVE to be experienced live, even if on tape!
I'm 38 and over time this group has become my favorite musical group. Just missed a chance to see them in Reading, PA five years ago and am still kicking myself for that! Love EWF! Funny enough, my favorite song of theirs, "Fall In Love With Me", was released in my birth year ('82).
astonfunk to be honest you better off seeing them from old videos cause if you didn't see Earth wind and fire in the mid 70s and early 80s you ain't SEEN Earth wind & fire... sorry
My favorite group of all times . They were just so great. What a national treasure. No group in the world can compare to them. They had everything, exceptional vocals , songs, musicians, style, stage presence.
It pleases me to hear how you so eloquently breakdown the genius that is Earth, Wind & Fire. I have always rated them to be the greatest band of All Time! Their brilliance is impeccable. I am glad I found your channel, I look forward to learning more of the great musical talents that I love so much. Great job!
Who else could have put such a well- oiled music machine together other than the genius of Maurice White! I love, love, love EWF. Every song has a special place in my heart. My favs are September, Can't Hide Love, Let's Groove, After the Love Has Gone & on & on!! Too many to list!💕
Top 5 EWF: 1) I'LL WRITE A SONG FOR YOU 2) BOOGIE WONDERLAND 3) REASONS 4) FANTASY 5) GETAWAY. 1) The dynamic vocal by Phillip Bailey! It's one song that I can honestly say transports me to another place/time in my mind when I listen to it. 2) High energy from start to finish. The Emotions vocals add the perfect feminine touch. Also, it reminds me of the kiddie disco dances I went to back in the day!lol 3) The first slow R & B jam where I learned all of the words. When I was a kid you were cool if you could sing along to the record. 4) I love the music and vocal arrangements. I think it's one of their best songs and I never get tired of hearing it. 5) Great vocal from Maurice White! The bands playing is tight and again high energy throughout. Always on my traveling playlist.
"Loves Holiday" is such a Great Tune. Maurice White at his Best. The give and take toward the end with Johnny Graham's melodic solo is pure bliss. My favorite Earth Wind and Fire song of all time. Was influenced by them to become a musician during the All and All Tour. Amazing Band.
My all time favourite group..with.Mauricio.Philip.Verdine..Al..Larry..Ralph..Andrew..Fred..Johnny..& THE PHENIX.HORNS..YOUR choice of the fav songs are right on!..I lover Serpentine Fire..Fantasy..Loves Holiday..and one of the Funkiest groove"Getaway"...I have all the EWF collection..Timeless group with timeless and Classic songs..4 ever EWF✊
Can't Hide Love is my top pick-so smooth, perfect blend of voice and horns, that bass! Excellent tension/release in the outro, can play it over and over and over
Up to this day, just hearing the first three drum hits of "In the stone" makes me drop anything and just enjoy the masterful funk dripping off of that track..
My top 5 EWF songs: 5, Let’s Groove; 4, After The Love Is Gone; 3, Serpentine Fire; 2, September; 1, Keep Your Head To The Sky... shoutout to Fantasy and Can’t Let Go as well
The incredible fact about EWF Is how many people from 9 to 90 know their music AND that has been the case since the 70s...Their music should be part of the Great American Songbook.
Love your passion for music! EWF is in a class by themselves. Such a unique sound. Love so many of their songs...Reasons is a classic, seductive song with amazing lyrics executed with that amazing falsetto!
I watched the Kennedy center Honors and when I heard Cynthia Evvio sing reasons, my first thought was "damn you know you are good when your falsetto has to be sung by a woman and even she has to strain to keep those notes in control.
I think Let's Groove is a favourite. Cookouts and family gatherings, University homecomings everything... I can feel the love in your descriptions and stories of this band. What I love is their positivity, there songs will last forever, to me anyway.
Earth Wind & Fire was one of the greatest band and sound to come out the 70s. Maurice was pure Genius in writing, producing and vocals, then throw in Philip Baily, WHOLY COW! ! I grew up with this Band, and have almost every song downloaded. You are pretty much right on with your top 5, you easily could list a top 25. The Ballads from EWF were classic. Loves Holiday, You and I ,Be every Wonderful, Wait and Love goes on, just to mention a few. Even Maurice White solo debut in 1986 with I need you is amazing .Speaking of solo , I was at your Kenny Loggins interview in St George Ut last year, it was truly a great time. Also speaking of pure Genius it has been done and documented so many times, but you should do a segment on Brian Wilson ( of the Beach Boys) Professor of Rock is Synonymous with this legend of POP.
Professor, you summed up everything and more, regarding the GENIUS of EWF and the group I never tire of listening to after 47 years. Saw them in 1976 at the San Diego Sports Arena and what a show it was!! As far as albums, Gratitude is the one for me, and the song Sunshine has always been one that can instantly put me in a GOOD place. Thank You for such a heartfelt, genuine Ode to a group that continues to bring joy to ALL.
So many hits over so many years/decades. If I had to pick one that stuck with me theost it would have to be Fantasy. Especially their live performance of it at the Nobel Prize ceremonies. Outstanding!
I love their interludes 1. In the marketplace 2.departure 3. kalimba tree and their jazz dance instrumentals 1. Power 2.Africano 3.Rock that! 4.Running 5.Zanzibar

MY BLESSED BROTHER! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. EARTH, WIND & FIRE IS NOT ONLY MY FAVORITE GROUP OF ALL TIME --- THEY ARE THE GREATEST GROUP TO EVER DO IT MUSICALLY. "THAT"S THE WAY OF THE WORLD, " IS MY (ALL TIME) FAVORITE SONG, P E R I O D. BUT, THEIR SONG "BURNING BUSH, " ON THE SPIRIT ALBUM IS TOTALLY CLASSIC. AND THE WORLD NEED TO PUT THIS SONG INTO THEIR HEARTS - AND RELEASE / EXPRESS THE LOVE.
For me Fantasy is the absolute #1 EWF song. Great arrangement, perfect lyrics. Epic. A truly uplifting song! A favorite of mine since I first heard it in 1977. I was just a 5 year old kid at that time. This just shows how powerful music can be as I couldn't really comprehend the lyrics at that time of course.
Saw them in concert. They brought out a pyramid surrounded by masked mayan looking dudes surrounding it. One by one, each band member got inside the pyramid. It was raised up and with a bang it collapsed. The masked men took there masks off and it was the band! 😎

I’m from St. Louis. Sold restaurant supplies to Funny Bone and saw Cedie Kyle there every week. He was janitor and opener. He begged me to come to open night all the time. I was so obsorbed with 3 toddlers and a business I never found the time. He would make me laugh every week though.
Maurice White not only brought to us great INSPIRATIONAL music but he brought to the Afrikan world and the wider world Afrikan Kemetic Culture.... Maurice went to Kemet (Egypt) and told the world about (OUR-STORY/OUR HISTORY and our Culture)...REST IN POWER MY BROTHA....
Remember the days when it didn't matter what color you were? If you made great music, we listened to it, we bought it, we enjoyed it. My older sisters listened to the hits of EWF in their heyday around the time I was about 8 to 12. That music sticks with me to this day. There's no denying the greatness of "September". Honorable mentions: "Fantasy" and "Sing A Song". Such awesome songs. Thanks Adam. Since watching this video, I've had "After the Love Has Gone" stuck in my head all day. :)
A scene from WKRP in Cincinnati is burned in my mind. "After the Love is Gone" plays as Bailey Quarters walks the darkened hall of the station hoping Johnny Fever will show up for a date.
Dann, Bailey had a last name- "Quarters." Didn't know she had a thing for Johnny Fever. I thought she'd go for Andy or Herb. Yeah Jennifer and Bailey had a Ginger and Maryann rivalry happening. Mr. Carlson was cool except he was a mama's boy. "That's The Way of the World" is when EWF stepped out into the world stage of profundity. It's their song that you really paid attention to the lyrics. Cause it's deep, "What's Going On" deep. The words that got me the most were "plant your flowers, and they grow"......a simple but brilliant metaphor of all metaphors. A message of hope and, godamnit, perseverance.
From a pure musicianship standpoint, EWF may be the best ever. But Maurice was incredibly talented at knowing when to change styles. Their music just makes you want to dance. Love this band and your Channel!
1. In The Stone 2. That's The Way Of The World 3. You Are A Winner 4. The Changing Times 5. Devotion all young children should be introduced to EWF as their songs teach positivity, love and unity....
Head to the sky, where has all the flower gone, make it with you, All about love, Devotion, Be ever wonderful. And those aren’t the more recognized Hits
The pic of the horn section is not The Phenix Horns, but that of The Seawind Horns (A.ka The Jerry Hey Horns). Having said that, those guys also played in the extended horn section of many EWF- recordings.
5)Can't hide love 4) Gotta get you into my life 3)Reasons 2) Loves Holiday. 1) Keep your head to the sky. I want to name so many others, Their body of work is so outstanding I can't contain the joy of thinking of all their music!😁🤜🤛🔥
It’s been said that Maurice White played on The Mary Wells song “ My Guy”! He was definitely a great Drummer and awesome Singer and Producer too! Long live EWF ! ✌🏾🌎

What a superb segment, Adam... Once again, you did it. EWF are my musical heroes since the early 90s, when my old man gave me as a present the album "All n´ All," while visiting New York City. I cannot completely describe with words what happened to my brain the first time I played the entire CD. What I do remember is that it was pure inter-dimensional musical transportation, from first to last track. I cannot thank my old man enough for having introduced EWF´s music to me when I was just a 16-year-old teenager... Thanks for your awesome work, Adam. You´re the man!
"September" takes me back to eighth grade, because that started in September of 1978. Gives me good feelings of a significant time in my life, when I noticed that daily living was shifting to more work and responsibility, but also that good things were coming to me at the same time some unfortunate aspects of life were ending. The song gives me a transformative feeling and a positive outlook toward the future 🙂

Omg!!!! So lovely and funky
One of my many favorites too
Gotta say That's The Way Of The World 🌎 is my favorite song of all time
Kenneth Ward yeah 1a and 1b!
“September” is truly a positive energy infusion. Love this band! They helped formed my inner core as a small child. So appreciative. 🌏 🌬 🔥

Thanks Professor for such an eloquently stated
narrative of the genius and mastery of Maurice White...........RIP, May your Star shine eternally.
‘’Love’s Holiday’’ is a terrific song. Maurice’s vocals are so powerful. Love that song.
One of my favorites by them
One of my favorites too.
My favorite EWF album is All n' All why because there is "NOT" one song in this album you can dislike, from being to end 👍👌👋👋👋👋👋
YOU are telling the TRUTH...the WHOLE truth!!! Runnin'/Brazilian Rhyme...EPIC!!!
Every Albums is a Hit.
Same with me. I also share the same birthday as Verdine so of course I had to play Bass. lol
They are uncomparable, unsurpassed, they are forever among the greatest band on earth...
It's a sobering moment when you, in your fifties, have to be taught the lyrics to "September" by a teenage daughter. You realize then that you wasted a very important part of your life - the time you could have listened to "September" a few more times and got the lyrics right :-)
Us 50 yr olds didnt have the internet to look up the exact lyrics!!!!
The brighter side is E,W&F music is so good your daughter of a new generation is listening close enough to the music to learn the lyrics. That just goes to show how good and inspiring E,W&F was/is.
@@Twonne1 Yes, indeed - it does affirm that you've raised your kid up right.
Yeah, "Ba-De-Yah" is the _actual_ lyric.

5. Shining Star
4. September
3. Evil
2. That's the Way of the World
1. Can't Hide Love
Can't argue this list esp your number 1 pick
Can’t Hide Love is easily my #1 as well. Be sure and check out both Wayman Tisdale’s (RIP) instrumental version from 2001 and this newer remix of the original: ua-cam.com/video/xqOwPpCyiYk/v-deo.html
Maurice himself said that That's the way of the world is their Anthem, the song changed everything for them made them Superstars their collaboration with Charles Stepney, no 1 nuff said
What about Loves Holiday? Keep your head to the sky? Devotion? After the love is gone? Sun goddess? Masquerade? Need I say more!
Amen to that list
They are amazing and I have been a fan since the 70’s. I’ve been lucky to see them close to 30 times in my life. I just can’t get enough of this fantastic band!
I grew up hearing Earth, Wind & Fire on the radio. Their songs are easily recognizable and make you want to boogie. September is a fantastic song.
Man it’s hard for me too cuz I can wake up to any of their songs in my head which gives me a theme for the day
Earth, Wind and Fire is one of the greatest groups if all times, great roller skating songs and the best boogie music ever, loved Maurice RIP great one, gone but never forgotten 💙 💔 ❤ 😢 🙏
One the greatest Bands of all time true Legends. As good as it gets. EWF ! 🎶🎸👌🙏
That’s awesome thanks for sharing!
One of the greatest things ever inspirational
@@innercirclemusic1 Lol! 😁 You're right about that!
I agree Phillip Bailey is a great falsetto tied with Ronald Isley.
No way for me to limit this to top 5. Not even top 10 captures all of my favorites:
10. Imagination
9. Devotion
8. Be Ever Wonderful
7. I'll Write a Song for You
6. Fall In Love with Me
5. Love's Holiday
4. Fantasy
3. Can't Hide Love

1. You (an underrated song that moves me to tears)
Jacqueline Lucas 100% agree about the underrated ballad ‘You’. Would add ‘Pride’ from Faces and ‘Something Special’ from Powerlight
Great list. I’m not familiar with Fall In Love With Me but I absolutely love every other song on this list. I haven’t seen many other people point out the wonderfulness of Imagination and Be Ever Wonderful for example.

I need at least 20.
That's a strong list! I would add All About Love to my list.
Revered !!!
My favorite R&B, soul, funk bands in the 70's hands down! Dancing to Boogie Wonderland at the disco!! But September is a song that definitely elevates me immediately! Especially when I'm driving....yep that's me singing and dancing in my seat next to you at the stop light!
Can't forget the always fun and uplifting, Singasong!
My son and I fell in love with Boogie Wonderland, as we would watch Madagascar a million times. We'd stand up and boogie whenever the opening Zoo scene begins. LOL
One of best groups in the entire world that’s made such a huge impact on the music industry and true music lovers internationally!
I love Earth Wind and Fire...it actually started for me back in 1992, playing "September", my freshman year of high school, in marching band
U should have gotten to be around to remember them when they started the band ! Thank the Good Lord I was apart of seeing them reach the STARS ✨ at the beginning! Iam getting Old ! 👀
Earth Wind And Fire, is the cornerstone to any marching band
Love every song that they recorded thanks ewf
Beast!
Oops!!! I said EFW....... I meant EWF. What kind of fan am I??? 😳🙄🤪
I totally agree with you!
Kari J.:
Hell yeah----EWF's version of Got To Get You Into My Life is even better than the original, and I rarely say that about any Beatles song.
Sun Godess. An all-time favorites summer song. I know Ramsey Lewis had it on his album but still...
YESSSS! Love the live version. Really feel this one.
Yess that song reminds me of my divinity!!!!
Also, it reminds me of the kiddie disco dances I went to back in the day!lol
3) The first slow R & B jam where I learned all of the words.
I completely agree with you on their number ONE song Curtis! I'll Write A Song For You! Definitely so underrated!

Most definitely their best album! How about "I'll Write A Song For You!" Musical perfection!

"Fantasy" is my favorite E,W & F song !!!!
Nothing I can say will do these guys justice. They affected my life deeply and their songs were just fantastic.
Saw them in concert. They brought out a pyramid surrounded by masked mayan looking dudes surrounding it. One by one, each band member got inside the pyramid. It was raised up and with a bang it collapsed. The masked men took there masks off and it was the band! 😎

Very informative. So much talent. My birthday is in September, so of course I’ve always loved EWF. 🌎🌬🔥❤️
Yeah I remember that episode 🙂
Was wondering if anybody else remembered that scene....never heard of EWF before that, but I was hooked from that point forward
