This show is the probably the only place that makes the guests feel comfortable, just like a regular conversation
Every freaking talk show does that! Stop gloryfying this one and trying to shame the rest... This is nothing more but a worn out comment you copied from another clip.
To add to this, I feel like this is one of the few talk shows where a host actually lets their guests play out their story. And since there's not much of an audience, the conversation must feel more personal.
Craig Ferguson did more than that on his show a few years back. He was making conversations about literally anything with his guests 😂😂
Yeah, interviews feel awkward for the person that's being interviewed. It's like you said, this is more like a regular conversation so it's not awkward.
@@papagrounds thank you. I hate these cringe copy and paste comments. And it's not even a regular conversation, these are all pre-rehearsed stories.
Graham Norton once said that Tom Cruise is one of the best celebrities he has had on his program. After the show Tom says thankyou to all the staff backstage apparently and remembers their names when thanking them.
There's an old New Jersey saying: It doesn't cost anything extra to be nice.
All the money, fame, everything still has that sort of humility..... THE LAST REAL MOVIESTAR FOR A REASON
You're kidding me, that is F****** AWESOME....didn't think I could admire Tom more
@@hijodelaisla275OK love the sentiment. And are the folks from Jersey actually nice?
I could listen to Tom tell stories all day, no joke
He sounds like a very good story teller.
Handsome man very personable and articulate. Great storyteller too!
Same here.
you mean, the story about wearing a coat when it's cold... so easily impressed one feels.
I wish Tom was on social media :(
"I've always had a great work ethic". I believe that's 100% true. Everyone seems to love working with him.
Fun fact:
Tom is the 1st actor in history to star in 5 consecutive films that grossed $100 million in the US: A Few Good Men (1992), The Firm (1993), Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994), Mission: Impossible (1996) and Jerry Maguire (1996).
Shame they're all 20 years ago though
@@joneslive586
Do you perhaps have an example of another actor with his longevity and bankability ?
And another fun fact..He gave his biggest hit so far just 3 years back with Mission Impossible Fallout. Talk about someone who is as if not more bankable now as he was close to 4 decades back.
Fun Fact : Tom Cruise is 9 months Older than Graham Norton .
@@Diapontios yes Will Smith. I think he is still the record holder with 6 or 7 movie. Okay nowdays he is just soso at the box office. Could say Dwayne Johnson too.
No American talk show would ever put John Bishop on at the same time as Tom Cruise and give them both the reins at the same pace, and seeing Tom Cruise try and bring John Bishop into the conversation by relating their jobs shows how much The Graham Norton Show advantages from that risk
What on earth are you talking about?! Lol
@@BodyOpt what don't you understand
Dead right. I love the fact he had the two of them on together.
no american talkshow would dare have someone who beat tom cruise in something and rub his face in it haha
@@ZoltanTajti they'd have them play some stupid game and let Tom Cruise win it so they were even
Tom really is the definition of being at the top and staying grounded at the same time. Quite grateful and welcoming. Amazing!
Tushar Sharma, oh yes, grounded...in top echelon of Scientology...amazing what a good actor can make a person believe
Not so much grounded as 'big picture' but I get what u mean
If you have not been directly affected by Scientology in a bad way then what you know is probable hearsay. There are so many out there
who are so jealous of his success they’ll put him down whenever they get a chance.
@@gloriao.falkson4282 Scientology was created to bleed money out of victims
He's just comfortable being on top bit of an adrenaline junkie too though I think.
Tom Cruise's personal life has nothing to do with the fact that he is a great actor and totally loyal to the fans. He wants the best from himself and from the others involved in his films.
Tom looks amazing and very comfortable, i don't know why he doesn't have an Oscar yet 'cause the man is a LEGEND and still is the KING OF HOLLYWOOD !!!
Due to his longevity and bankability, an often overlooked aspect of Tom cruise is his range. People might be quick to judge him from his recent MI movies, but Tom has had a plethora of great performances in widely different roles. And mind you, it doesn't need to be a character driven movie to showcase one's range, he is able to display that even in commercial blockbusters. His dramatic portrayal in Magnolia, Few good men, Rainman, etc., comedic role in Tropic Thunder, Anti-hero in Collateral, Romantic role in Jerry Maguire, War movies like Born on 4th of July and Valkyrie, fantasy movies like Interview with Vampire, he has done enough to showcase his range. But action and sci-fi are his trope and after all these years trying to prove people how good an actor he is, perhaps he now deserves to work on what he enjoys the most
Just have to add my bit. Eyes Wide Shut after all this time is quite possibly my favourite of his.
Magnolia and Vanilla Sky are pretty good
I agree
Yeah American Made, The Edge of Tomorrow, Knight & Day, Collateral, & The Last Samauri are all underrated.
Would love to see him & Leo (& maybe Bradley Cooper) in something together..... actually Cruise might be good in an Inception sequel (he can do that sort of Sci fi/Action/mind games well....he was good in Minority Report). No matter the movie have Cruise actually play a bad guy.... I think he could be extremely menacing if they pulled it off right (if they did it wrong though he could come off really tacky).
The Last Samurai is sheer grace & poetry in motion. Loved TC in that underrated gem.
The Graham Norton Show always has a fantastic array of guests!
True story back in the 70’s when Tom Cruise was a high school wrestler in New Jersey my teammate injured him in a match so he couldn’t continue wrestling for the rest of the season. So instead he went out for drama club the rest is history lol!
Whaaaaat? OMG thank you for your comment. I loved it. This only proves we can all be resourceful instead of viewing ourselves as victims for the rest of our lives. It turned out better for Tom Cruise and we can all learn from that even if we're not all celebrities we can be happy and be our own "success" under our own terms of what it may mean. This story sounds crazy but Tom Cruise just may have made his life his own Mission Impossible
Haha thanks for sharing!
When one door closes another one opens.
That's crazy. We may have your teammate to thank for the amazing Tom Cruise movies we have today 😉
Your teammate deserves OSCAR!!!
Tom Cruise is a sweet, generous, ultimately professional man. Eloquent and a gentleman always and every time.
Fun Fact : *_Tom Cruise is 9 months Older than Graham Norton_*
*_Both of them are 58 Years Old_*
What!? That's incredible!
@@AlexisWaldhagen-Nordstrom Mate you need to see a doctor if thats's what you put on yourself.
Hairstyle and coloring make all the difference. I'm sure if Tom let his natural hair color grow out along with a beard, you'd see that gap in appearance narrow. But Tom's got the thick, dark (artificially colored) hair with a more youthful cut, and he's clean shaven, so he appears younger.
if I would do a full shave now I immediatly be younger for 2-3 years, and Im 21 now.
@@AlexisWaldhagen-Nordstrom "Braces to hold up facial tissue" yeah I don't think such a thing exists. No need to exaggerate. also
Tom Cruise is just such an entertaining interviewee, there’s so few of them. Tom Hanks is another, I miss the old school anecdotal interviews, it’s so much chit chat these days
Tom Hanks gets really real when he tells the story of his own father, as a little boy, seeing Tom's Grandpa Hanks get shot to death.
This is, by far, the best guest show in the world.
That's what you want, easy conversation, I feel Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds are also similarly easy going, just as happy to chat and tell stories.
Tom Cruise is underrated as an actor. Have at the look at directors he has worked with. It is an impressive list. De Palma, Kubrick, Stone, Spielberg, Coppola, Scorsese, Pollack, Mann, Crowe and both Scott brothers.
Don’t forget tony Scott & Doug liman
@@Locadel2003 I forgot to mention Doug Liman and John Woo. I did refer to the Scott brothers, ie Ridley and Tony.
i dont think he's underrated. otherwise he wouldnt be one of the highest paid actors in the business.
he just gets a lot of hate because of his faith. and he also ran his mouth a few times in the past about other people. but he's learned to keep his mouth shut since then, and a lot of people who worked with him have said that he is very sociable.

Paul Newman will always be remembered as a legend.
Tom Cruise in a suit just hits different
Tom Cruise is a legend! You can clearly see his passion for acting shine through when he tells his stories.
Legend in his own lunch time. He is more plastic and fake than the furniture on the set. Don't believe in all that marketed "Great Guy" nonsense. He is always acting even when he is not.
@@snap-n-shoot wtf you're everywhere don't you have something better to do 🤡
Tom Cruise is still amazing. Glad he's on Graham Norton.
Newman was the same age as Cruise is now in the Color of Money. He played an old man. Cruise plays Maverick.
That's right he "played" an old man, you should look of pictures of him, his face was young until 80, he just did not colour his hair and had no plastic surgery
The Cruise...I admire anyone with a work ethic. Be the best that you can in what you do. Whether you are piloting a rocket to the Moon or sweeping a road. He has achieved immense things by applying himself and investing in himself, whilst being respectful to others and being grounded. That takes a good and sound character to do that. He is an extraordinary man.
I watched this last night and still can't believe how well Tom looks..... Holly cow!!!!!
When people say bad things about him it says more about them than him.
The flipping man is tv/ film royalty
Is he not well? That's too bad. I've always liked him.
What do you mean TC is not Well? Do you mean that he is sick ?
I know they knock him, but he is very people oriented and an outstanding actor. He should have got an Oscar by now
His "loony" religion holds him back.... But ain't all religions loony.
He's been nominated for Best Actor twice (Born on the Fourth of July and Jerry Maguire) but had the bad luck to be competing against Daniel Day Lewis in My Left Foot and Geoffrey Rush in Shine. He was nominated for Supporting Actor once (Magnolia) but lost to Michael Caine (Cider House Rules). I haven't seen those last two so there's no telling what the Academy were thinking that year; it should've gone to Haley Joel Osment for The Sixth Sense. But anyway, I agree that he is very entertaining to watch.
May be he will get an honourary Oscar soon.
@@1982bored It negatively interfered with his relationships and career in some ways, but it also boosted his self-confidence and -esteem, enabling him to be the legend he is today.

@@user-cs1ep6jj2o I know he's not an actor but, I see your Tom Cruise and I raise you a Buzz Aldren! That's a proper star!

Love the dialogue between Brick and Big Daddy. Absolutely my favorite parts of the movie.
Watch some Graham Norton every night. No pills for depression, just great interviews, especially this one and generous positive energy. I'm still depressed, but I don't know it~
You know I miss seeing Tom in movies that are not full of action . People today think of him as just action movie star . He is much more than that.
Yes put action star Tom gets paid $$$
I think that he didn't want to prove anymore how good was him...he did so many movies and he didn't get the Oscar even when he really deserved it. Maybe he just want to have fun now, without proving anything to anyone, but I think that when he'll get older he will play again serious roles
Yeah, it was cool he did so many different types of films back in the early days.
I Read somewhere that when he hits 60 he quits the action movies that's why he is so keen to make as much of these movies while het still can
Very true. Maybe when he reaches 60
Tom Cruise is much more than a movie star. He is a role model, a leader, and someone with a profound work ethic. Beside his dedication, his interaction with fans just shows how much class he has as a human.
I only rewatched 'The Color of Money' again a few months ago and thought of how many great actors Cruise has worked with over the years. Paul Newman is a God!
The first movie i saw him in was the Outsiders. I had no idea who he was. Now when he became a huge star , I watched it again. You could see he had something
Man i would love to have a conversation over dinner with this guy....and not because he's a famous actor but to listen to his knowledge about everything....Smart man...
about wearing warm clothes and not overeating sweets, don't yo mama teach that?!
Glad to see tom again!
You know what? I'm glad he gets enough love to keep doing what he does. Y'all hate on this man way too much and I will die on this hill.
Genuine person, great actor, dedicated entertainer. Just a polite and humble guy.
I can't think of one other actor that has been at the top for this long.

Norton barely spoke during this, its refreshing to see a host let the guests speak
*_TRUE FACT: I myself am a filmmaker, I voraciously respect what Tom Cruise has done as a filmmaker and within himself._*
His determination to 'get it right' ... as well as an example to we fellow humans on this fragile rock that one can get through even the toughest of times is mondo teaching.
Bravo-Bravo, to the dear amigo I have yet to meet and have some good chuckles with about this business of show and certainly life itself.
D.A.
Give this legend an Oscar already!
Tom Cruise is an old-style Movie Star. He could stand next to Cary Grant, Spencer Tracy, Humphry Bogart, John Wayne or James Stewart. True, grand Movie Star.
Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, and Yes,
Tom Cruise might be crazy all day, but that man is beautiful, a fantastic actor, and still does most of his own stunts. Respect.
Hollywood does not like Scientology. That’s why he has no Oscar yet.
Maybe one day they would grant him a life award as they did for the TALENTED Ennio Morricone.
What a shame. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
I'm not sure I understand the significance of an actor doing his own stunts, aside from making it easier to film because you don't have to hide the face. I suppose that's enough.
Missed you so much Tom... I love you❤
The chocolate cake is that one tiny scene from Outsiders, and I feel like I have to go back and rewatch color of money now to see him freezing. I've lived in Chicago my whole life!
Tom what a great storyteller
Ok. Now I understand why actors take very small bites of their food in eating scenes. So they don’t overeat from having to do all the reshoots 😂
With one exception: Brad Pitt... especially in the Ocean's movies.
Keep an eye out for how often you actually see them swallow the food before the camera cuts away as well 😉
Except Adam Baldwin in Firefly. lmao They had to refill his plate about 5 times while shooting the dinner scene in the first episode.
A lot of times they just move the food around, its always funny to watch just how much they avoid actually eating the food
Sometimes their is someone going round with a bag and the actors spit the food out.
I dont know, but all the Graham - Tom episodes are lit🔥
