- Modding your Xbox 360 opens up the whole back catalogue of games for you to play. All you need is a DVD or ISO backup file and you’re good to go. In this video I’ll walk you through the full process of installing any game you want. Single disk games, multiple disk games and Live Arcade games. We’ll also be looking at the two main formats you can use to save games onto your Xbox, raw extracted files and GoD containers.

Don’t stop doing what your doing, I bought my console 9 months ago and didn’t do anything with it because there was no clear tutorials, I finally decided to crack on with it and after some hard searching I stumbled across this master piece! Absolute legend hopefully I can get the full Xbox 360 collection

Although I intend to mod a slim 360 following your previous guide, I already have another one I bought pre-modded. I only vaguely remember setting up Aurora and installing all the games, so this is a useful refresher.

What an excellent guide, I wished I'd utilised the 360MPGui better in the past, I mainly used it to convert to GOD, I didn't consider using the 'extract ISO' feature. This would have saved me a lot of time for multi disc games for DLC. Please keep doing what your doing, your videos are clear, helpful and very much appreciated!

Can you show how you update the Apps, or do they self update. As I have an old Katy xb360 that has not been touched in many years. Thank you.
I think you need to manually update them. I'll have to check and will probably cover it in a later video.
Hi, I wanted to ask what website i should use to install games from. I could only find a link that goes to Mega. I can only install 2GB per six hours. Thank you in advance: ) I really appreciate the effort you put in your videos!
You need to have a look for yourself as I can't point you places. Use search terms like xbox games or vimms lair :)
Bob, installing those GoD files, and having slices of files, won't this cause a latency, (slight delay between data files) problem?
I see what you mean, but I think this is one of the standard Xbox formats rather than it being part of the modding. I haven't seen any issues with games so far.
@BytesNBits Thanks for a great video, it was really helpful! Now I'm stuck with the installation of a specific game: "Monkey Island - Special Edition Collection". I got the ISO file for it which is about 7 GB in size but using any ISO extractor I only get a game folder that is about 2 GB large... Besides that, if I copy the game files to the Xbox 360 (plain game folder or GOD format) the game shows up but when I try to run it it's a limited demo version only. Obviously I'm doing something wrong but I can't figure out how to correctly install it. Any advice would be helpful!
I'd try downloading an iso from a different source. The iso file can sometimes be padded to the full dvd storage space so although it's 7GB download there's only 2GB of actual data which is what you seem to be getting.
Thanks for your help. In fact, I've tried downloading the ISO from three different sites, but it's exactly the same file. I think it's a peculiar game that requires a different installation process, but I can't figure out how to make it work. If you ever happen to try it out, let me know :)
the 360 mpgui link you listed sets off my antivirus and says it is an occamy trojan. is this a false positive because that is not something i want to have on my computer.
Thank you....I am trying to load a game from disc to my hdd1, as per the tutorial, HOWEVER, it is not a 360 game, but an original older xbox game. When I got to the point of 7:37 on your video, it tells me we need to create a path for Aurora to find the game. Where you point us to go into the game folder and find the "default.xex" file, it is not there. I had previously entered data onto my HDD1 so that I can play such older games, and can confirm that this does work. As such, should I have tried to paste the game I am trying to copy to HDD1 into a different location, so that the "default.xex file would appear, or has something gone wrong for me? Your assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.
You need some extra setting up to be able to play original XBox games. I haven't yet made that video, but there are others in UA-cam. It's on my ever expanding ToDo list!

Once you've got the mod installed and working they should work the same. Make sure you install XEXmenu and Dashlaunch. These should allow you to format any hard drive. I only really used Aurora as it seems to do everything I need it to.
Is it possible to update game art without being connected to the internet? My system can't connect to the internet.
I suspect it is but I've not tried it. You'll probably have to download the files on your PC and use some app to name and file them correctly for import onto the Xbox.
Yes you can do that by using Aurora asset editor
Could I bypass the copy to flash drive then copy to HDD process by connecting my HDD directly to my pc and extracting the ISO's directly to the hard drive?
I'm not sure. The XBox does some funny stuff on the hard drive to lock it to the specific XBox and I don't know if RGH blocks this. I don;t know for sure but there might be a risk of overwriting some important info. Please have a look around for someone who knows.
360MPGui corrupts some games. Is there any good alternative software?
In the video I install a second app (I forget it's name) that can do it all for you.
How do you keep your GoD files organized if they don't have the games name attached on your computer?
I tend to keep my games archived as iso files and only convert to GoD when adding to the console.
Is it possible to download ISO files to Android and then transfer it from phone to USB via OTG cable and then transfer file from USB to Xbox 360?
You need an app that will extract the contents of the ISO file. If you can find one for Android then you're good to go.
Download your ISO file on your phone then use a pc with 7z to extract. See if your phone has a "more" option, you can extract if you have enough storage space.
ANY game? What about this leaked Dethgame i got? It's the Metalocalypse game from AdultSwim which was never concluded.
It was leaked a single file, format unknown. The file plays successfully in Xenia.

Have a play with the tools in the video to see if you can convert it to a suitable format so that it will install on the system.

i’ve tried copying and pasting them in my games folder but it always gets alsmot done pasting them in the folder and then says error what could be this issue?
It might be the main game folder name. If the name is too long or contains special characters it can cause issues. Try renaming it to under 40 characters and remove the special characters.
OK I have a question, I tried the same method with ds2 sotfs and the content file thing isn't the same number as the disc one
Disc one is 645...
While disc two is FFOD2000
I'm not sure why they come up differently. Have you tried them on the XBox?
@@BytesNBits yeah it's the same, apparently you have to put the content folder inside the first folder of disc one and label it as 00000002

No. I'm running both on Windows 11.
I want to connect my RGH to the internet but not Xbox LIVE. is it safe? I don't want to get banned. I only wanna connect to the internet to download cover art and the GOD format script.
Check out my RGH installation video. After the hack I set it up and block Microsoft Live access. Once that setting is turned on you can connect to the Internet and use it safely.
Brother if i have fat32 usb and iwant to install 7 gb games it saying file is to large how can i solve that problem?
If you're using Wii Backup Manager it should split the file for you into two chunks. If you're on a Mac you'll need an app like Witgui.
when i do the ios2god convert, i have a 64gb usb im using and its saying i dont have enough room for the install and then cancelling itself? any idea why
The install process ends up making a couple of copies of the game so it does use some space. I tend to build the GOD package on my PC hard drive and just copy over the end result.
I believe that means it’s not formatted right , from what I’ve been told your USB needs to be FAT32 formatted

I'm not sure why it's reporting as full. If you remove another game will it let it install? You might then be able to put the removed game back on.

You need to include the applications folder in your Aurora paths setttings.

Every time I add a new game it doesn’t show up until I turn my Xbox off and then back on after a few minutes. What would be causing this? Someone modded it for me and it took them 2 months to send it back to me
The system does need to run a scan for the new games. There's usually an option in the menus for that, or a system reset will work.
This is the best and most complete tutorial but sir you missed Indie Games. Cant you reupload the vidoe with that.

@@BytesNBits I appreciate it... had my 360 Slim RGH3 and got most things down but still unsure about a few other things and DLC is one. I wish Vita, and PS3/PS4 was as cut and dry.... I have some to mod but those are confusing im comparison to the 360
@neccros007 I've never modded a vita but I do know it's actually pretty simple. There a channel and his name is Z-something Chuck. (Idk the first name but he has lots of good vita modding tutorials)
Great tutorial but on my xbox 360 cod bo3 doesn't work it asks me to be signed in xbox live and accept update pls help.
I'm not sure what to do if it insists on being signed in to Xbox Live. Are you using the right version of the game. Some have a single player mode and a multiplayer online mode. With the hack in place the online version is sort of out of bounds. I think there are ways around it with stealth servers etc. but not one I would recommend.

So overall there is no difference between GOD and /Games unless you are copying/modding... Which do you prefer?
Yes both install the game and allow you to apply title updates. I prefer GoD as it packages everything up very neatly and I don't really use file mods.
@@BytesNBits My thought was /GAMES was better then it was easier to delete games but you can do that through Aurora... I was doing it through the SDK or FTP
For me GoD iso file only worked when in hdd1/games and not in content/0000000000000000 map😮
That's odd. Make sure you've got the folder name correct and have set it as a path in Aurora. Check my main RGH3 mod video.

You need to have a modded Xbox running something like Aurora. If you've hacked the 360e then yes.

No. You need the hack to unlock the ability to play downloaded games.

Is this in the image browser? Just follow the steps in the video. Make sure you're using the same apps as me. You shouldn't need to select an iso file outside of the apps. When you load an iso into the browser app it may show you the contents of the dvd image. Don't worry about that. Just follow the video to extract the files. Hope this helps.
The game that I have is metal Gear Solid v phantom pain 2 dvd but it doesn't have iso it has default .xex what should I do could I just paste it onto xbox?@@BytesNBits

@@dylanschaffer8311 I think 128gb will work. Just make sure to backup ur data from usb before using rufus, beside data you have nothing to lose, you can always reformat it again to ur old format (ntfs exfat etc)

Yes, sort of. You can use a stealth server which some people love. I personally don't use them. But have a look online for a tutorial. It's not something I intend to cover.

Yes. You just need to add the USB drive to the searched paths in Aurora.
