An idea I came up with for comforters or duvets - is to fold and roll them and stuff them in a cotton king size pillow case! Looks super tidy on a shelf!

I love doing laundry, especially folding. I find it a meditative task. I often get family and friends ask me to fold their linens and clothes! I learned at a young age from my Mum, and then it was reinforced by working in retail at 15. Thank you, Melissa, for sharing your techniques!
My biggest folding challenge is and always will be fitted sheets. Especially my king sized monsters. It always turns into a wrestling match and I lose every time, despite having watched how-too videos a million times.

I started using this technique after your old videos. It has changed my life. I no longer loose tops in the bottom of my drawer. I can see every top I have. When it is time to pack for a trip it is so easy because everything is already perfectly folded.
Maybe you have a revolutionary method for folding fitted sheets? I manage but it is a struggle...whenever I put a fitted sheet on the bed I have issues trying to figure out the top/bottom from the longer sides. It's not rocket science but I think your ideas are helpful and I am eager to simplify my life! You are such a delight, Melissa!

Couldn't get things out since they were folded too thin and tall, oh well. And the square really is a powermove! Great one with the onsie. Might trie if that will work on my adult size ones - only it has legs. And a hood. Kinda challenging piece. Still easier than fitted sheets - those just refuse to both square and get somewhat even in flatness at the same time 😅

Excellent tips! Really appeals to my inner tidy-obsessed nature. First step for me would be to close the dogs and cats out of the room before folding. They like to "help." I'll also skip buttoning husband's shirts. He would NOT be happy about unbuttoning every shirt before he gets dressed LOL.
I fold everything! However my husband folds the towels in a different configuration so our linen closet looks crazy. I fold so the towels are long and thinner, he folds in a square so they take up more room! Actually they are squished because they don’t fit the shelf. I take them out and refold to fit (without him seeing me)😀 Just keeping the peace!
so that's how it's done!! have some long sleeve pj shirts that are those bulky shirts and i kind of do a combination of folding/rolling. now that i know how it's done, i will have to try folding them that way. the biggest challenge for me, the fitted sheets and i keep those in the bag my quilt came in. along with the pillow covers.
There is many videos on that it works best when you have a good size space and patience which I lack when I'm surrounded by others in a laundromat lol. But when its folded neatly it feels so good seeing it.
@@wonderwoman5158 also if you line up all the seams and edges too. Ironed sheets are easier then un-ironed, but once you get used to it any will be ok. Also you can then do it on a smaller surface. I can fold on an ironing board size surface, as i clean houses and wash/iron linen for my job.
If you sew, do patchwork, knit or craft, those duvet bags (and sheet set bags etc) are great for storing fabrics, projects, yarns. I never throw them away. They are so useful.

@@MissVasques I have a dishwasher and duster on a pole but I like to wash glassware by hand and my house is not as clean as it used to be. Scrubbing on my hands and knees is now a distant memory. I was, however, chuffed that I managed to use a power washer to clean my patio recently. My husband set it up for me and he does all the washing, cooking and ironing. I'm lucky to have him but I wish I could do more.
TFS. King size fitted sheets are my nemesis. I’ve watched countless videos on folding fitted sheets but I’ve yet to see anyone demonstrate the process with king size sheets. We just got an adjustable bed and that is a new challenge. It takes two people just to make the bed. Please help.

My big challenge is the fitted sheet and grouping the set together to look nice. I have a shelf for King (1) and Queen(2) sheet sets so I can grab and go make the beds. Rethinking the closet to hold blankets also for change of seasons which we have here in Kansas.

I would love to see your technique for folding fitted sheets. I've folded enough of them over the years that I've learned to compromise with my sense of folding perfection and tell myself that fitted sheets just don't square up as nicely as flat sheets do. King size fitted sheets. Perhaps it's the size bc I'm able to easily fold queen & twin size fitted sheets w/o wrinkles but for some reason all my king size fitted sheets are crinkled. I agree completely w/you on comforters. I'll be donating the two comforter sets from mil's house. They're beautiful. Hwr, they're made of heavy brocade material & the weight causes us severe pain due to neuropathy (dh: diabetic/me: multi-autoimmune diseases). Plus, it costs $100+ to have them cleaned! I'm plenty happy w/the duvet cover set & insert on our bed & they're machine washable. Even got lucky couple wks ago when found a king size electric blanket on Groupon almost half-price! Melissa: I removed all my husband's clothes from the armoire not long after running across the video of Chad going through his clothes. I sorted everything into keep, donate, & toss piles before folding as you've shown in your videos then placing them back into the armoire only in specific drawers w/everything in the upright filing style. Upon discovery, my husband made his way from one end of our house (our bedroom) clear to the total opposite side of the house (the laundry room) to find me just to ask what in the world possessed me to file away his underwear! I swear, the puzzled/befuddled sound of his voice made me chuckle. Even our daughter, who was playing a video game in the living room, started giggling. Hubby isn't one to like change. Hwr, he's actually admitted to liking the way I've set everything up for him. Now if I could only get him to fold his own laundry. I appreciate if u give tips on organizing shelves, my closet is all about shelves with limited hanging space. The issue is when getting something from the pile inside u have to get out the pile in front till u reach the item u need, and also the back stuff are out of site and gets forgotten.. Each shelf has 4 piles; 2 at the back and 2 in front.

When I was young I had a friend who lived in the same street and who didn't have a washing machine. So she did my dishes and I did her laundry. Later I had a roommate and I did all the laundry because it was my washing machine and I didn't want him to ruin it (at least that's what I said 😉) and he did the dishes. Now that I'm married we have a dishwasher. But I do the laundry and my husband cleans the bathroom.
Big bath towels and beach towels. I don't have a closet for them so we put towels in a small dresser right outside the bathroom. Would love to know how to fold towels so they fit nicely and don't take up so much space. Also fitted sheets☺️
Am I the only person in the world that likes to do laundry? I love to fold and put things away all nice and tidy. I use a lot of Marie Kondo's folding techniques. No longer to I have a drawer stuffed full of random undies, socks, shirts. Granted, I am only doing laundry for 2 but, it's my only favorite chore.

I love all your videos, folding is my nemesis period. I can't fold quickly and I have no help though I'm disabled. At this moment I'm staring at 3 loads of clothes, most the need to be rewashed because the hubs just throws his clean stuff on the floor vs putting away.

I know you might have a great house, but ours is badly insulated and mold grows everywhere near the windows, not everywhere we can prevent it from happening - like the bookshelf we have now almost in the middle of the living room 'till the summer comes, because it sterted getting the wet and the mold from the wall :-( please, please, any tips on how to prevent it (besides renovation which is not going to happen, it's not our appartment). I tried bleach mixed with water to get rod of it, and it worked pretty well but not enough.. anything ?
How do you keep clothes from falling when you file them in a drawer instead of putting one on top of the other? This is where I always struggle the most.
Abdulhalim Mudag if you fold them correctly, they should be able to stand up on their own, so when you remove one, it shouldn’t affect the other things. Good luck.
The thing I hate folding is fitted sheets. To get around this, I have a spare set of sheets carefully folded in the linen closet for if needed, but normally just take the sheets off the bed, wash and dry them, and put them straight back on the bed. No folding necessary! 😅
FYI A duvet is the cover encasing a quilt or a comforter. So calling your bed cover a duvet, then putting a cover on it, voila... you’re using a cover cover! From N.H. Patricia 👵🏻 🤗

Am I the only person in the world that likes to do laundry? I love to fold and put things away all nice and tidy. I use a lot of Marie Kondo's folding techniques. No longer to I have a drawer stuffed full of random undies, socks, shirts. Granted, I am only doing laundry for 2 but, it's my only favorite chore.

I love all your videos, folding is my nemesis period. I can't fold quickly and I have no help though I'm disabled. At this moment I'm staring at 3 loads of clothes, most the need to be rewashed because the hubs just throws his clean stuff on the floor vs putting away.

please!! I know you might have a great house, but ours is badly insulated and mold grows everywhere near the windows,
not everywhere we can prevent it from happening - like the bookshelf we have now almost in the middle of the living room 'till the summer comes, because it sterted getting the wet and the mold from the wall :-( please, please, any tips on how to prevent it (besides renovation which is not going to happen, it's not our appartment).
I tried bleach mixed with water to get rod of it, and it worked pretty well but not enough.. anything ?

How do you keep clothes from falling when you file them in a drawer instead of putting one on top of the other? This is where I always struggle the most.
Abdulhalim Mudag if you fold them correctly, they should be able to stand up on their own, so when you remove one, it shouldn’t affect the other things. Good luck.
Fold them again. What she's doing is basically the Konmari. So in a way it's a thick V that's pointed up.

The thing I hate folding is fitted sheets. To get around this, I have a spare set of sheets carefully folded in the linen closet for if needed, but normally just take the sheets off the bed, wash and dry them, and put them straight back on the bed. No folding necessary! 😅
FYI A duvet is the cover encasing a quilt or a comforter. So calling your bed cover a duvet, then putting a cover on it, voila... you’re using a cover cover! From N.H. Patricia 👵🏻 🤗
