I'm so glad you posted the patterns! Just a question, what's the best way to scale this up to fit a larger person?
3 ways I would do it,
Easiest: get it printed on larger sheets of paper.
Or print it regular size and measure/scale up while tracing onto larger paper.
Or use editing software and scale it up on the computer separate pieces to multiple sheets of paper if needed) before printing it.
@@AlysonTabbitha Thanks! Just thought I'd clarify, but I meant more in terms of body measurement. Is there a sizing chart you use or something, or is guess and check just the best option? Sorry to keep bugging you.
@@petersears8703 Honestly, I'd just try printing out different sizes and seeing which work best.
First... ASTONISHING Stillsuit!!! I was questioning the same thing... But Alyson posted her own size (height) 5'10, since I am nearly the same height but ... uh.. let's say not in shape like her 😀 I will go with the patterns and simply make them "slightly" (yeah yeah ... I mean "a whole lot") wider then... and like she said, there is a lot of wiggle room.
Now.. I have a challenge, I got 2 weeks left and want to make this for my uncle's party ^^ I was searching and looking the web - but simply was not willing to pay like 850 bucks for a full costume.
I think, I don't need larger paper, I will try to use the patterns directly on my laser machine and cut the parts out, so there is enough room to scale
@@kaitelemann9429 there us this enlarging website called rastorbastor, and it prints out images into multiple pages to make them larger - im currently working on my own stillsuit and needless to say it works perfectly. :) I am 5'0 and used up around 27 pages total for it.
Wow! I watched Dune 2 yesterday in an XD theater, and I’m amazed at how well you’ve recreated Jessica’s stillsuit and look. Kudos! And one final appreciative comment: your exuberant smile and sparkling personality made watching the video very pleasurable. For a quarter of a century, I made reproduction armor for SCA use, and most of what you did should also be doable using leather rather than foam sheets and the same techniques & tools/glues, FYI.
You just straight up a Photoshop your face with makeup. You continue to impress me every single time. When the video started I assumed it would have been so much more complicated and then the crafting starts and I'm like IT'S FOAMIES!? WHAT!?
YES IT"S FOAMIES xD
Omg just figuring out those patterns alone would've taken me easily over 1 week LOL. Alyson, you are amazing at your craft and you seem like the happiest person on earth, your positive energy is so contagious!
Even if I don’t use your specific patterns, you’re ingenuity gives me a crazy amount of ideas of my own and is a great resource itself! Just a wonderful reminder that you don’t need all the fancy stuff to make it work, but to use what ya got! Lol!
Love seeing these blog style videos btw! I can’t tell you how inspirational you’re videos have been, I can just tell you how wonderful they are to watch. Thank you!
Yayy 🥰☺️🤗 this comment makes me so happy, that's exactly why I love making these videos ❤
Great looking still-suit. The fact that you knocked in out in 3 days? Impressive!
Thank you!!
Wow! Your cosplaying talent never ceases to amaze me. Kudos!!
WOWOWOWOW!!!! i love this so much!!!
Omg thank youuuu 🥰
This seems an ideal opportunity to reply requesting a RWBY Cinder cosplay next? 😜
As a fan of Dune, whose read the novels & enjoyed the films, I was looking forward to seeing you put this movie quality masterpiece together. It’s superior to the 1984 film, you could be a part of the production team. Btw if you’re getting hot you should wear your stillsuit to catch perspiration. ☺️
Nah! The 80's ones look like a somewhat believable environmental suit with a cool HR Giger twist. And when they added dirt and blood to them they just looked cooler and more real. These new ones look like someone just hot glued a bunch of craft foam onto a jumpsuit and somehow stay perfectly clean while running around in a desert the entire time.
@@annaadkins there's only like 4 books
@@ctiyboy1 22 actually
@@annaadkins Yes, many Books. The first was written in 1965 by Frank Herbert. He did the Original 6 books. His son, Brian and another wrote the others. Dune Part 1 (2021 is the first half of the first book of Dune. If you see the time period below, this takes place in the 3rd time period, Rise of the Atriedes. This is the original Dune book series. But I did provide all the books below so you can start whenever you like.
The Dune universe, set in the distant future of humanity, has a history that stretches thousands of years (some 15,000 years in total) and covers considerable changes in political, social, and religious structure as well as technology. Creative works set in the Dune universe can be said to fall into five general time periods:
The Butlerian Jihad: Legends of Dune prequel trilogy (2002-2004) by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson; Great Schools of Dune (2014-2016) by Brian Herbert and Anderson
The Corrino-led Imperium: Prelude to Dune prequel trilogy (1999-2001) by Brian Herbert and Anderson; Heroes of Dune series (2008-2009) by Brian Herbert and Anderson
The rise of the Atreides: Dune (1965), Dune Messiah (1969), and Children of Dune (1976) by Frank Herbert; Heroes of Dune series (2008-2009) by Brian Herbert and Anderson
The reign and fall of the God Emperor: God Emperor of Dune (1981) by Frank Herbert
The return from the Scattering: Heretics of Dune (1984) and Chapterhouse: Dune (1985) by Frank Herbert; Hunters of Dune (2006) and Sandworms of Dune (2007) by Brian Herbert and Anderson
There will also Dune: the Sisterhood which is a TV show coming to HBOmax and that will be a prequel. It will show the beginning of the Bene Geserit sisterhood.
@@_herb really? Bc I've read 10 and I thought that was it...how the hell did I miss 12 books?! Lmao. I kinda feel like your numbers are a bit off...but pls enlighten me if I'm wrong....
You never fail to make my jaw drop in awe... A silent scream each time . Giddy silent scream, really 🔥🔥🔥
Finally got around to watch everything. The way it’s all simple but so thought-out is amazing. It looks like leather in the end, which is kinda crazy. You’re too sweet at the end hyping us up to do it 😭 love your energy and the level of detail in this. Made me smile throughout the video 😊❣️ also you’re *stunning*!
WOW!!! You look amazing and that stillsuit is awesome! You nailed Lady Jessica’s look! Phenomenal!!!😃😃😃
This absolutely reminds me of building my Aliens Alien, similar process with piles of pieces (of latex) that all go somewhere and other bits to be made from scratch and everything painted (with latex) and stuck on a lycra suit. Great watching this build, it totally shows people it's possible and is the basis behind so many seemingly complicated costumes (Stormtroopers, Manga, Stargate etc) that when broken down into small chunks are all pretty handleable 😊
I love watching you make costumes, it's so motivating and inspires me to get started on all the cosplays I have planned. This came out so rad Alyson!
Great design, construction and weathering! One of your best!
you did an amazing job! thanks for laying it all out like this - i have way more confidence that i can make a costume now!
You are a literal gem for uploading this pattern! THANK YOU QUEEN
2022...still one of my favorite builds that I've seen anyone do. You and the suit really do look the part. Cheers!
Love the energy, love the costume and love the motivation to take on projects like these. Thanks!!
How is it possible that one person can make everything perfectly? I mean, everytime you do a cosplay, it's literally perfect. Thank you for sharing your wonderful tutorials! 😍
i have just finished my stilsuit, thank you for the pattern and the insperation you gave me to do such a project.
Thank you for making very accessible tutorials for us low level cosplayers to follow. They are very simple and at least it helps me who am more of a visual learner. Even for diferent cosplays that are not the one you make in the video. The process helps. Thank you. And the entire cosplay looks amazing!
I'm a visual learner too ( with a short attention span) so I like trying to make my tutorials visual clear but also straight to the point! It means a lot that a fellow visual learner enjoys my videos! Thank you for your comment!
@@AlysonTabbitha Me as well I also have a short attention span. XD Thank you for responding Alyson. =D
I Loved watching you geek out explaining the build ... you truly put your heart into your work... which is amazing btw. A truly spectacular build.
It's impossible not to smile watching you go through the whole process. Brilliant!
Yess Cant wait to make this
I really love the direction of your videos, Alyson! Your personality beautifully fits your vlogging style. More please.
Hey Alyson! About to embark on my stillsuit build, with help from your video and pattern. I can't wait to see the results and I'll post pics of the finished product. Just wanted to say thank you for your talent and hard work 💯
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I was really intimidated by this costume because I didn’t know where to start. Now I know I can make it, too! Will definitely use your pattern and tutorial! 👏👏👏
I really like these types of videos where you talk to us about your thought process in between! Voice overs are nice and all, but i also enjoy this more organic approach :)
Again, you blow we away! Me and my husband loved this movie! I really want to make it, and your enthusiasm is always so inspiring and I love it! Thank you for being so thoughtful, and providing patterns for us! ❤️
Excellent job as always 👍 Congratulations on the shoutout from the official Dune movie Twitter!
Also, I don't think I've ever heard you squeal in delight so much in your videos! Finishing this project must have been so satisfying for you!
Wow so adorable and thank you so much for making it easy with the patterns and the little pep talk
I'm going to get to work on this right away so excited ❤️
What I love about your stuff is you're able to take relatively cheap materials and turn them into these amazing movie-quality costumes! It's a testimony to your epic creativity.
my boyfirend is a huge Dune fans so i really want to make this for him as a christmas gift!
and the way you use rope to create like a tube for the costume is such an amazing and quick way!!
thank you so so much
WOW AMAZING!! You're an amazing Cosplayer and thanks for all the tips.
I have been wanting to make a Dune Cosplay, once I'm done I'll for sure tag
you. EXCELLENT JOB!!
Yay! I'm so excited to see it!!!

OH. MY. GOODNESS!!! This is freaking amazing... cannot wait to start making my own version of this...
You are so incredibly talented and creative! Absolutely beautiful work!!
This is amazing! Super cool video and incredible cosplay / craftmanship (as per usual)... I finally caved and just bought the templates and a bunch of materials in the hope to attempt this myself - if I can make one that looks even half as good I'd be thrilled.
Thank you so much for the patterns and the video, without which I'd probably never have attempted this or known where to start!
All those pieces, it's like a puzzle. Amazing work! 🥳
Awesome! Picking up the patterns today!
Looks brilliant, great job!

Wow just fantastic!
Love the new format
I am always blown away by how clever and resourceful you are when it comes to creating all these pieces! It's so inspiring to watch you work ^_^

I'm so excited to try to make this, thank you for the awesome pattern and tutorial!
Thanks for the pattern made one for supernova in Australia, people loved it
This looks amazing! Great job!
A very talented artist can do this. A very talented artist who can work in the industry can do this in 3 days. Bravo kiddo.
Awesome
Awesome!
What an amazing Jessica cosplay, wonderful!
This is amazing. You are so talented! Thank you for sharing.
The vlog style videos are my favorite🙌🏻🙌🏻
Amazing work!!!
You are so talented!
This is awesome!! I’ll have to try it!
My mind is blown by your custom tubing techniques 🤯 but also bless the Yaya Han foam line what a game changer 😭👏
This is might just be your finest work. The end result is pitch perfect. 👏👏👏👏
This is so rad
Once again you absolutely killed it! Watching it come together always amazes me, you are an ARTIST!!! Also yes to the vlog style and more pupper features :)
Wow, it looks like you stepped right out of the movie! Amazing work once again!
Lovely work as always & congrats on getting shared by the movie page, that's so exciting!!! I loved seeing more vlog-style clips in this one, your enthusiasm is really infectious and it makes a nice contrast with the voiceover bits where it sounds scripted since you have to explain everything really precisely. I just kept thinking 'oh she's so happy, that's really nice to see!'
You're incredibly talented. This is amazing
This is impressive! Congrats!
WoW!
First time seeing your stuff, love how this looks.
Great way to use scraps to.
Incredible work!
I loved it. Thank you for sharing it with us
Absolutely amazing. As a (much less skilled ) cosplay costume maker myself, this was a masterclass. Very well done
*amazing!*
This is so incredibly amazing
This is so unbelievably good!!! So glad I found this video ❤️

This is so good!!!!!
That’s amazing 🤩
Actually crazy, amazing.
Thank you so much for making this video!! This is happening- making one for next year - Dune is my favorite Fandom. Long live the fighters!
“He shall know your ways as though born to them.”
it's great what you do
Very good job. That turned out great.
Omg I'll definitely make this soon!! Can't believe I'm only seeing this now:0 thanks for the pattern & love your energy in this vid, very inspiring ✨
awesome job. I loved the stillsuits. I've been wanting to make one for years... maybe i'll give it a try one of these days. great video.
Wow!!!! As always, awesome
I am definitely going to make some suits for my partner and myself! Thank you so much for the guide!
this is amazing i'm following this tutorial for my own stillsuit. thank u!
Amazing that you can construct those shapes for the patterns just from studying the original costume. You really need to be working for a theatre company. I did for 10 years and although it didn't pay well, I enjoyed it, so at times it didn't even feel like work. That bumpy fabric is called "ribbed". You're awesome!!
AAAAAAAAA. That looks SO AWESOME!
that was amazing! didn't think Dune cosplays would be out so soon :D
