- A look at Apple's third and final digital camera, the QuickTake 200.
Shot with: Canon 60D: goo.gl/VLyVB and GF2: goo.gl/NdPCJ
Music from Soundtrack Pro
A near identical copy of the Fujifilm DS 7, the Quicktake 200 is another example of Apple's failed foray into consumer electronics in the mid 90's. - Наука та технологія
Not only this camera is ancient, but the video itself is ancient as well
Wow, the way you did videos back in 2012 was way ahead of its time. It looks more like a video from 2018+.
I used one back in 1998. It was horrible, but at the same thing amazing because of it being one of the first consumer friendly cameras.
i remember my exgf had one of these back in the day. at the time they were amazing.
Great job !! Really appreciate the effort you put in your videos ..
As always, great review!
I'm amazed how you manage to get hold of all these bits and bobs, especially the more rare stuff like this, and in such good condition too!
I have always been interested in what this product was like. Thank you for going over it! ^_^
Your videos are so well made that even if the title isn't about a product i'm interested in, I know the video will be great :)
Great work.
Nicely done.
Both. As well as the 20mm f1.7 on the GF2.
This is cracking production and quality for a 12 year old UA-cam video.
When you color corrected this video what exactly did you do? Crush the blacks and decrease the saturation? It looks very nice, much like all your videos.
Love these retro gadets.
As always, awesome. I LOVE MATT! :)
Depending on the condition and what accessories it has they usually go for $40-$100 on eBay.
very nice video, Matt (: !
Please upload at least 1 video per day :( they are insanely awesome.
wow, this is so much cool than the first quick take.. i want it!
At 2:42 , If only they knew back then what we know now...
@Frank Truth Say it with me "Pill Cosby"
You should do a vid on the vintage printers, like the StyleWriter, LaserWriter, etc.
I never knew how many Awsome Products made by Apple.
Thanks Matt. Never even knew Apple had a camera. Wondering though why you actually make video reviews of products that are no longer around??
Matt, What would be a good beginners camera for $200-300?
Yay! More weird and wonderful apple products!
what is the music from your video
He meant that the viewfinder makes the camera similar to a DSLR because most point and shoots don't have viewfinders. Also, the image in the viewfinder is not always the same image as what is captured. Many entry level dslrs don't have 100% coverage in the vewfinder. Then there's a whole talk about pentamirrors vs evfs but I'm not getting into that.
Could you point me in the right direction to get my hands on a serial to USB? Did you use an older Mac to retrieve your photos? Just serial to USB? Help!!!
Do you use a slider? If so which one?
‘stills from a tv’… mmm perfect
Although the resolution isn't that good, the image quality actually looks pretty nice! It might be the size of an old flip phone, but it looks a lot better!
The card it came with had a 2MB capacity, so 22 on the high quality setting.
What desk clock is that in the end pan? Thanks!
Helvetica and Typograph Pro
Would you ever sell this camera? Where did you find one to purchase?
Where did you get your Serial to USB converter? I need one.
What lens did you use for this video? the 50mm 1.4 or 24-70?
Cool
My friend thrifted one of these! I thought it was a cool relic from the past!
I bought one a few minutes ago. It was only 34 USD and it works and comes with some Apple 2MB flash card thingy. There where others with boxes and extras but then it would be like some 100 dollars and thats just too much for me lol!
She will be.
I still have mine, threw away the box though, I know, bad but had to size down. Still works but sadly the little transistor is busted so I can only run it off batteries, not the power adaptor.
What do you use as your main computer?
Should I get this or a 60D? I've heard that it has a few better specs then the 60D but I'm not sure.
Where did you get your sd card reader?
Still, a 5DMKIII or D800 user is most likely to be a photographer with experience.
Though there are great photographers out there who use lower end small cameras such as the Canon G series or Fujifilm's X series.
I'm sure you recall DigitalRev's good photographer bad camera series thing.
I'd be curious to know how much this cost when it first came out. :0
I couldn't find one of these woth the viewfinder.
Video editing skill levels ............................Ok,Good,Amazing,How did you do that, and Matt's Macintosh
I would say that is a good thing
Hehe, I had this model years ago... was great for its time
Where is this?
what is the best camera today which is under $350 and shoots 1080p
No way this video made 10 years ago
what was the price of this thing back in the day?
How much was this when it came out?
2:58 what kind of clock is that? me like lol
only slightly, but there is a difference between taking photos of the kids and Photography
Would you recommend it if it was 1997?
2:42... The statue blinked :O
besides, where the hell would you get one?
1:23 what kind of reader?
After effects and premiere pro. :)
Never knew Apple made and had cameras until now.
It's about the person and how they take the photo's, not the camera. While a good camera helps, a good photographer can take amazing pictures with a point and shoot or phone camera, a bad photographer will still take crappy pictures with a 5D MkIII or a D800 with the best glass you can buy for them.
Panasonic lumix is a very well Beginnes Camera
are these worth anything now?
I have 16GB of RAM in my Pro.
Yes I understand and fully agree with you. But is that really related to my comment?
You can get them on Ebay for like a dollar
Is that the new "first" ??
They did not suck back then- I have been using Apple since 1992. The Macintosh Performas of the 90s were great machines. The software suite of classic Mac OS was great- HyperCard, ClarisWorks, MacPaint... I've always been an Apple loyalist and their products have always been superior to anything else available.

Mac Pro
i love doing stuff like that, nostalgic on the outside new on the inside.
but don't do it to a already working one, use a broken one
Yeah i know,i was just trying to praise him.:)
@ImCardiology what's funny about 3 megapixel?
Why? 1997 was the year of the powerful Powerbook 3400, Jonathan Ive designed eMate, the 20th Anniversary Mac with huge Bose subwoofer and leather keyboard and best of all, the first developer release of Rhapsody aka, the birth of OSX. Just saying.
she is beautiful, anw, this camera is very new!!!
Absolutely not. This is a 15 year old interesting piece of tech/camera history, not a modern digital camera.
And the iPhone seven takes 12mega pixel photos........ ironic
How is that ironic?
no way
He said she will be.
someone should put a 12 megapixels sensor in that camera.
do you know how long editing and stuff like that takes and its hard to come up with ideas no hating on you just saying ;)
If you were a Mac user, yes, but I wouldn't have recommended a Mac to most people in 1997.
Apple must pay you for taking us to school..
$600
the iphone has an amazing camera on it probably one of the best ive ever used
Lol! The nintendo dsi and 3ds also have .3 megapixel cameras :p
yea okei :D
Same picture quality as my iPad 2. haha.
2:41 your model was violated?
Melchi Zedeq smh 😂
Quicktake 100 looks like the Soflam from BF3..
2 dollars, I will buy
2:42 Oh! Talking about things not aging well then a cut to a bust of Bill Cosby!
Is shannon your wife/fiancé/girlfriend?
"I wouldn't have recommended a Mac to most people in 1997." So you are not truly a diehard fan, then.
haha of course he would
