I just watched Thomas and he was in Claridges , I think every top hotel is after Thomas he is so good at his job if I win lotto I want to stay in one of these hotels I prefer the old world hotels ,
Interesting watching him do this show years ago for the claridges and now Corinthia. I used to love doing business with the events team here, they're lovely
I love his precision and skill. He's truly in the job he was meant for. Also, anyone else getting some Christopher Plummer (from the 60's) vibes from him? Such class and elegance!
I have stayed places where I had a hand-written welcome note in the room on arrival. It's a lovely touch. I ordered tequila on line recently, and got a hand-written thank you as well. I hope good manners never go out of style.
A few years ago. The company I work in had a award ceremony in a fancy Hill country hotel.. The award recipients had a suite with concierge service.. and extras. A hand write note on arival was indeed nice.. I get few times to brag about it. Im never going to a place like that with my own money. But I'm so happy I was given a glimpse ...
I have a feeling he out grew the last place. I could tell he seemed excited by trying new things and was advised by travel agents there's competition with places that are trying new things... Claridges works because it's service is consistent, but I could see that getting boring.
I have stayed at this hotel - the service is wonderful- especially breakfast - we had a very present waiter ; a true professional . That was 2017 . Can’t wait to return.
As an appraiser and someone who obsesses over bone china, I nearly jumped out of my skin over the broken teapot, and died a thousand deaths over the bespoke 15,000 piece banqueting service!
I used to make macrame pieces to order. I always added a hand written thank you card within the order. It’s a lovely touch and customers really seem to like it. ❤
literally any other normal person: oooh wow such wonderful service, what exquisite attention to detail! the furnishings, the china, all incredible me: what fountain pen is that and what ink is he using. i need brand names and nib sizes
What a shame to cut corners and have stainless steel cutlery instead of silver plate especially with authentic English bone china. Stainless steel belongs in a hospital not in a luxury hotel.
Attention to detail? Yet he opens the door to where the china is kept and a sign is hanging sideways because it now has only one pin holding it. Back of house I know, but how many have opened that door and not straightend that sign? That is where the attitude starts. It's is the little things
I am completely confused by this video. Is this the same guy I saw as the manager of Claridge's in London in a special produced by the BBC? Ithis Corinthia also part of the Maybourne Hotel Group?
Actually it does. First the casting. Liquid clay is poured into the hollow casts. Of lid, pot, handle, and spout. Then they have to dry slightly before being removed from the cast. The handle and spout are then "glued" on with liquid clay. Further drying is recuired. Until solid. Note that clay shrinks when drying ! When tested for no internal flaws, and if the lid actually fits, the pot is glazed. Then dried and fired. Preferably 2-3 times over. Lastly the pot gets decorated. Then fired again. There is always a chance of something going wrong during this process. One small air bubble can explode a full oven ! Plus a tiny spot of burnt in dust will make a tea pot second rate, at best....
Just think, you reach your final day on Earth, you look back at your life lived and see that you spent most of it running around after a bunch of over-privileged rich people, pandering to their every pathetic whim, making them feel important because they have money. You spent your valuable time being their servant and that was the sum total of your working component of life’s journey..
That is why I left London... After 15 years of working in hospitality in hotels like Rosewood, The Lanesborough, and finally Corinthia... It is way too much stress, rush and struggle... Even though have to admit Corinthia is one of the very few hotels in London that actually care about their staff and rewards them accordingly. Rosewood wasn't bad either, and is a pretty stunning hotel. After some time however, you get tired of all the maddnes involved in serving the rich and famous!!! So basically you are spot on...
Wait a minute … this ONE man is making executive cost decisions for a hotel for a 15,000 banqueting service & he just broke a tea pot that takes a a week to make. This is how you can go bankrupt overnight & look… there’s no one there to stop him & his inflated ego. Wow ! No wonder the UK is going under, it’s not just Johnson & Brexit .. .it’s decisions like this by ONE MAN. Ridiculous.
chill out dude. anyone can break a teapot (and it wasn't even complete yet and not at its full strength). nothing to do with his management abilities. and wtf does this have to do with Brexit. you need to get out more.

I watched this video then claridges and I thought he was just an actor for a second 😂
I also watched the videos where he was in the Claridges and I was asking myself if it was the same person 😄
Me too, I saw on his linkedin profile that he left Claridges in 2017
I just watched it too and was like wait I know him 😂
👍

I loved his style when he was at Claridge's. I saw the programme, sadly I've not been myself.

Good money good manners
Good manners? Well, it’s an expensive thing to do (wrote personal welcome cards) and it’s paid for as part of the room charge.
I have a feeling he out grew the last place. I could tell he seemed excited by trying new things and was advised by travel agents there's competition with places that are trying new things... Claridges works because it's service is consistent, but I could see that getting boring.
i heard he left bc claridges was bought by an investor from qatar
I have stayed at this hotel - the service is wonderful- especially breakfast - we had a very present waiter ; a true professional . That was 2017 . Can’t wait to return.
Tory
What kind of room did you stay in and what was the rate?
@@H1289-h8oby their name, they won't have a clue what you are talking about. It's a very morth American name.

I jumped when the tea pot shattered 😳 almost spilled hot tea all over me 😅
I thought he was going to say "And this is where we keep the hotel manager..." when opening up the door to the china. 😆
lol kati
🤣👍
Very funny when he broke the teapot...
My heart dropped 😂
Indeed
I think he's really attractive, lol. And the voice is definitely part of his charm, as is his personality.
I have the exact reaction with him when he broke the tea pot 😆😆
He’s so awesome, I love his style and voice!
I used to make macrame pieces to order. I always added a hand written thank you card within the order. It’s a lovely touch and customers really seem to like it. ❤
Wasn’t he in a doc about claridge’s?
Lol watched it yday
think it was filmed 2010-11? He's moved?
Yes, it was mentioned at the beginning that he worked at Claridge's. Also watched it yesterday. I found it very interesting.
I love Thomas, he is a great guy
Thomas is my spirit animal. I feel like he’s my older self!
Thomas has excellent serial killer vibes. He'll inspire some characters.
Yess I thought so too haha, it's his inauthentic way of trying to present himself as the most professional version and I also think he has botox done
literally any other normal person: oooh wow such wonderful service, what exquisite attention to detail! the furnishings, the china, all incredible

yes a really nice Montblanc fountainpen a classic pen for a classic Hotel.
He wants things done right. I like that. Pamela in Detroit Michigan USA
Please don't touch unglazed unfired ceramics still in production. The oils from your hands will reduce the adherence of the glaze.
Yes, many peope will come across unglazed unfired ceramics still in production. An overlooked issue of national importance.
Thomas!! You are absolutely amazing and a credit to your profession. Well done.
mir ist das handy beinahe aus der hand gefallen als der teekrug zerbrochen ist.
sehr sympathischer mensch.
The 'exploding' teapot .......oh, Thomas!.
What a shame to cut corners and have stainless steel cutlery instead of silver plate especially with authentic English bone china. Stainless steel belongs in a hospital not in a luxury hotel.
he used to be general manager of Claridges Hotel if im not mistaken
Wouldn’t it have been easier to put it together in the place it was going?
Indeed...
4:23 That'd be referred to as a 'Koch-up' by Dennis Norden! 😂😂
I agree with the writing - much more personal. Too much e-tablet nonsense these days.
Too many.
That guy is funny as hell…sense of humor
What happened to Claridges!!
Nice name and logo!!!🇬🇷💙
I hope I will visit that hotel one day!

I’m in love with the communications director.
So he left Claridges?
are those arm chairs in the beginning of vid made of Chrysler-Corinthian leather? 😆
What the hell is wrong with that journalist taking her 17 year old to have a vitamin drip put in her arm! What an unhealthy way to start
Enjoyed!

Yes, it is him. That document is approximately 10 years old. He switched from Claridge to Corinthia.
He left claridges in 2017
I❤❤❤THOMAS KOCHS🤗❣
'Thought this guy was running Claridge's or was it Brown's
Yeah he uses ro manage claridges but be moved over to the corinthia I'm not 100% sure why
@@bethanysangra3903 Thanks, so much for the reply.. What was your opinion on Browns'??
he was in the documentary series on Claridge's around 2012
@@bethanysangra3903 maybe Claridge's was not paying him enough money.
Yea, I thought the same.
I think people who are OCD about details can only be happy if they life alone. I would be impossible for them to share their home with someone else.
lol when they say it takes one week to make a teapot... like yes all teapots have to cure. omg hilarious
Not if it’s cast iron

I really detest this low-voice narration. This isn't a bedtime story!

Very nice.
LOVE
Is he German?
He is.
Yes i hear an accent.
Connor was right lmao!
Inside Claridges
Um… the chair pillow he flattened out in the beginning now doesn’t match the two flanking pillows with the purposely put dent on the top…
finer details, yet has worse hand writing that any gp dr

But why the absurd hushed narration? Very irritating.
So in the end he was cheap.
Pretentious

Bro, I'm a mover. Two guys with straps would have gotten that down the stairs easy peasy.
sad face gay boy Thomas cannot even wear a jacket that fits him.Its another example of how "pathetic camp management " ruined the business
