You are an amazing artist. Did you study art on college ? If not , what did you do to get such a high level of skills ?
Thank you very much 🙏😁!!! I was on a school of arts, but that really didn't help to learn how to raw manga and anything of that kind. All you see here on my UA-cam channel was learned at home when i had some freetime. Actually it's all about a LOT of practice (i'm drawing more than 22 years now😆)
@@redhawk4262 can you recommend some books , courses or anything that could help me get to your level ? (Specially your ability to draw environments !) I'm on my journey to create my Manga and my own fictional world
There are two things I can always recommend: For the start it's very helpful to draw only those things you really want and like to draw (not what others say you should draw). Because you automatically make the biggest steps forward when you are really interested in a certain topic (for example you like to draw cars -> seach for books, videos and look for cars in real life to understand how it works and what are the important things about this technical stuff).
And the second tipp is (which will also help you with the environment problem): You can compare learning how to draw detailed environments like learning a new language. And instad of the vocables, you have to save details from your real life environment in your memory. Not all at once of course, but every day a little bit. And you will see, when you go with open eyes, searching active for new references, you are getting closer to learn the language of a belivable worldbuilding✌️
@@redhawk4262 I get what you mean by drawing what I like , but I should get out of comfort zone right? I really feel intimidated when drawing environments and that takes away the joy of drawing it , but I love environments in art, games, etc. But when it comes to drawing it I feel uncomfortable. Im good at drawing faces and organic things like bodies, animals etc, but by doing it, I'm improving only on those specific subjects. I'm developing my story in a futuristic setting, and I need solid skills to make convincing cities, interiors, and all of that. drawing from life is what is gonna help me get there, in your opinion , but is it enough? I'm currently reading the book "perspective made easy" because how to draw from Scott Robertson ended up being too difficult for me :(
@@igoraraujo7451 Well yes, the problem about drawing a manga is that you nearly need to draw everything... that's the final stage of drawing. And i know, the journey is quite long and hard to get there. But the important fact is, that you will get there with beeing patient with yourself, stay motivated and constant practice (that means, not drawing every day... but drawing constant over years). When you struggle most with environment, set little reachable goals. Maybe it's enough when your sci-fi story takes palce in a little futuristic room, or a little spaceship, not in an epic world. I would also recommend to draw little shortstorys (~30 - 40 pages) before starting a project you'll never finish. And yes, you can nearly learn everything from real life. Only the fantasy and future stuff is a little bit problematic. Therefor i can recommend using videogames with the setting of your choice to learn the necesary details. For my manga Jovantore, i played a lot of hours in the world of Bloodborne.
Looking forward to seeing you do Cibo! I really like your art, big fan. I follow you on IG too. I try to learn to draw too. Curious, do you use references for these drawings? For the pose I mean. I have a hard time learning how to use refs, I guess it's all about practice to fit it into ones process. Do you have any advice for someone pretty new? I've been drawing seriously for maybe 3 years but I sometimes feel discouraged by the difference in skill and the quality of other's work.

Thank you very much for the nice compliment 🙏😎! Ah yes, in my early artist times, I was on the same point when drawing is a challenge in every way, because there are so many basics to learn. Things will definitely get easyer automatically with constant practice over years (i would also recommend to compare your old drawings with your new ones, because it has a motivating effect instad of compareing your work with other artists).
After 22 years, I'm able to draw poses, perspective and all the things without reference. But in my beginner times, it helped me a lot to use my own body as a reference for poses, by looking in the mirror. Also drawing people from real life will help you more than drawing from a foto-reference (if you have the chance to do that), because it will also improve your skill about 3deminsional understanding.
I know all of that is easy said, but drawing like i do is no magic, it's only result of a lot of practice and the inner passion for creating art.

Nope, the robot wasn't planned at all😄 , but i removed the first sketch, because so much of her face was hidden and it was too less dynamic for my taste😊
