Deer season was rough this year I didn’t see as many deer this year as I have in seasons past will also be the first year I didn’t harvest a deer seems like we are getting more and more crowded every year but all we can do is keep hunting and hope for the opportunity to present itself
Not nearly as bad as when I was a teenager, but still I get your point. Keep looking for new spots, they are out there waiting to be discovered. Good luck.
I hunt in Ocala two times the first time was on the Arches season the second time was the general g season and I was very disappointed because was dog every were I going and was a desastre because we can see anything because the dogs hunting from the entrance to hw 40 and we camped and spending 4 Looking for a place to hunt were is not dogs impossible please let me know were to single hunt from the tree stand like you did thank you
If you don't want to hunt where they run dogs, you would be better off going well north of Hwy 40 and east of forest road 88 (gun range road) - better yet, the Lake Delancey unit would be your best bet since it is the northern most section of the forest. But don't be surprised if a dog happens to meander thru...... I hunted the north section of the Hopkins Prairie area (Salt Springs) for years - no real issue with dogs. I don't mind the dog hunt area - they keep the deer moving.
I spent many hours in the Lake Delancy unit this season and I had seen maybe one or two dogs. Hunting Lake Delancy was nice but man was it hard. Really thick brush everywhere and lots of bears with cubs in that area.
I can't wait for next season, man! I just can't get enough of this outdoor adventure.........
I have already started scouting for 25/26 season. Thanks for sharing your hunt!
Good luck, maybe I'll see ya out there
Thanks for the tips.
you bet, good luck
Sure bet it’s night time activity!
I get that all the time.
Keep on keepin on brother!!!
You're right, but you never know....

I like forest road 33 going north, you can hunt the west side if the road, the east side is closed to hunting. Lots of room, no dog hunters.....
Thanks for the help

That was a highway about 7-8 minutes in!
Indeed it is, I love seeing it too.
