I can't wait to see this. it's going to be epic. I went to go see it tonight, but it turned out it was a lot farther away than I thought. It sucks, cause that was my only chance to see it in theaters.
I love most of Smashing Pumpkins' new songs... I think if he made a song as deep as his new acoustic songs, only put it on an electric, we'd have something. The Leaving Lament is so awesome, so is Peace and Love, 99 Floors, and The Rose March. And in my opinion, it's only gotten better and deeper since the Zeitgeist. Zeitgeist was kind of shallow, but it's only improved since.
It's tempting to say that it has all gone wrong for the pumpkins! their core fans were, say, 14 years old when they were most relevant, and that was 16 years ago. so now they're 30, but they go to the gig wanting to feel young and crazy again. but the new stuff and recent gigs doesn't deliver. i'm a massive fan, by the by,and i'll always look out for them, but they've got too flabby, complicated and excessive, just like us. Too bad, still one of my faves in CD rack.
I like the Pumpkins, but why can't Billy Corgan just be a little more sensitive to the rest of the world. trust me I am not the biggest stickler for that, but he has no humility it seems and it's unfortunate. not talking about anything in this trailer btw
