  • I got accepted into the Central Saint Martins Product Design course using this portfolio. The main takeaways from this Central Saint Martins accepted portfolio review is that the people reviewing your portfolio want to see your thinking. This is a second part video to the first Central Saint Martins video I made. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

    Dude that motorcycle is awesome. I have no words. We come from two opposite sectors. While you did your undergrad in design, I did mine in computer science and I always felt the need to learn to draw(I bought books and sketched) because one thing I learned is that with drawing sketching you really learn how to see and it helps so much when you look at a great User Experience whether that is mobile app or a physical product, and can understand the though process of the designer better.

    This brings back so many memories even though back then not many were using software programs for sketches and drawings. We did use Form Z slightly towards the end. A lot has changed since my time there. Have fun, competition is fierce!

    Arnau,
    Great video, great designs--I appreciate you! Quick question: the ID program I'm applying to requires 10-15 portfolio items. Did yours have a required number of items? If so, did each page count as an item or each project?
    Thanks very much!

    Hey, thanks for the guidance! I followed your tips, and I got into CSM foundation year course.
    Question: I have been accepted by Emily Carr and UAL, but i'm unsure of which college would give me a better career as an industrial designer, since the same companies recruit designers from both colleges. So, could you please suggest on whether I should go for UAL or not? Would it make a significant difference to my career?
    Thanks :)

    thanks for the great insight!! I wanted to ask, so I want to apply for the csm foundation for art & design and on the portfolio entry requirements it asks for 30 pages of work... would I need to create 30 individual pieces and cramp all the research and processes etc onto the page, or can I create a couple pieces and use up more pages for the each separate element like the final artwork, research etc. thanks once again :)

    • @ArnauRos
      @ArnauRos  3 роки тому +3

      Hey, definitely the latter. In this case it is going to be quality over quantity, only add in the best stuff you can produce. You can follow the format I used, I only had a couple projects in there and I had a few pages that were only research or process.

    I am currently preparing for CSM BA women's wear course🐥 Whiling I was having research about what to include in my portfolio, I found your vedio!! Lucky me🙈
    Quick question!
    1. How many project do you think I have to show in portfolio. Some say to show one strong project and some say include at least 3 project
    2. curious whether including face sketching or life drawing common in portfolio page. or would it be better if I put more about fashion project. I can only submit 15 pages so makes me think a lot what to include😩

Cause im a comic artist and i found a short course that they provide for comic artists but could i submit a portfolio that contains my thinking behind my creations, my storyboards, sketches etc and get in? Or does CSM revolve only around designing cars, motorcycles etc? I know very stupid question but could you please tell me? Thank you and great video🙏🙏
