Awesome charity event and appropriate as the blind are the only ones who can't see how bad these are.
I honestly love my moonswatch. I don't wear it often though because of plastic crystal. But I guess my opinion is trash since I like Luminox and just bought a Tag Heuer Formula 1. Lol
Picked up the mercury not long ago. Also love the look, but damn it is cheap in construction and I'm just as worried about that crap crystal (really, they could have at least used acrylic). But, it's going into my rotation and I'm going to wear it. If I break the crystal or the case, well, then I'll just order a stainless steel case from Ali and put the movement in there. Case with sapphire crystal is like $15. I understand a spacer needs to be used and I can just design and print a 3D one when the time comes.
Idk I think the moon swatch is stupid and was made for people with more dollars than sense
You mean Rolex buyers?
Exactly.
@@Omega34685 Omega has nothing on Rolex lmao
The moonswatch looks amazing but most review tell us a different story lol
I just wish theyd spent a few more dollars per unit and made something higher quality. Ive owned swatches and they last a decent amount of time. These are lower quality than those and its just strange...
Seeing one in person ended what little lingering interest I had.
@@mikej5959oh, please. They could have if they wanted to without increasing the price. If Orient can sell something good for less than $200 then Swatch could've done the same.
Beauty is only skin deep .
If the quality was 1/2 as good as the looks it would be a ok watch .
I bought a mission to the moon on Saturday in Sydney and saw the case in the window…didn’t even pick up how significant what I was looking at was, mind you I’d just walked out of Vacheron Constantin so my head was still spinning 😂
Fuck the moonswatch 😊
Thanks for sharing this...
Out of topic: why most of youtubers never let the Chrono second hand hit the 12 mark in their takes?😂 Chrono lovers like myself love to see the sub dial minute hand move. 😅 Not a complaint, just something I observed.
Great content! I'm new to horology. Now it seems I notice every watch seen on TV and movies. My question is how to identify the watches worn? Do you have any tips? Thanks
You were not wrong. It’s hot garbage. Cause is cool though.
Moonswatch is the greatest watch of all time. And I'm really the real superhero named Batman. Legit
How much would you pay for 11 MS on a suitcase? Would not be better to give a percentage of general income for some of the “limited edition MS? At the end is just a facewash
Jory, whose version of On Green Dolphin Street is playing when you're talking about the Wittnauer and Longines? Vaguely reminded me of Brad Mehldau, but not quite I don't think...
I think anyone commenting on moonswatch should familiarize themselves with the swatch lineup
I was thinking the same thing 🤣
Just snagged one at retail a few days and already kind of over it lol looks cool but def a cheap plastic toy at best
I managed to be my "piece of the Speedmaster history" by getting a used Speedmaster Date. Been happy to have it, and pretty sure I don't need to chase its big brother!
I put my missus' Mission to Mars on a white tropical strap, and it's FANTASTIC!
Anything for a charity is always a good thing.
MoonSwatch = SHIT. If people want history, go get the original Omega Speedmaster OR, Bulova's Lunar Pilot.
Absolutely good idea. But the Moonswatch is still khm not a good watch.
My parents recently gifted me one and i love it. Is it good value for money? No. Is it something id buy? Also no. Is it a great looking watch that i both enjoy and has sentimental value? 100%
How much each of ur watch WITTNUER?
I got one. A Mission to Uranus, and Uranus is exactly where Swatch can stick that POS. My experience all within a week, frayed strap, plastic crystal scratch seemingly by my linen shirt sleeve, a blue wrist from the humid Istanbul weather, and the piece de resistance, the top pusher lost forever on the street. Luckily, due to good customer service protection here, I got a full refund, but only based on the blue wrist. It's actually of lower quality than normal Swatches of which my wife has quite a few. I would have said that the Moonswatch was a children's watch, but seeing as the buttons might represent a choking hazard, I can't even say that. 😂
I'd like to thank Swatch/Omega for the absolute s-show surrounding the MoonSwatch. The unavailability of said MoonSwatch actually forced me to look at Pagani Design. My Pagani Design PD-1701 out performs the MoonSwatch in every conceivable way, at less than half the suggested retail cost of the MoonSwatch.
I'm very happy with my Pagani Design and it has completely negated my need to spend an hour driving to Miami to get an unbelievably expensive Happy Meal Toy.
I use my PD-1701 in instances where I wouldn't wear one of my Bulova Lunar Pilots.
@@williamthomas6106
Smart thinking!
Love all of mine, i just put a on a protector and i wear them at least 4 times a week, no scratches yet
Someone putting protectors on a Happy Meal toy tells me all I need to know.
@@veganbutcherhackepeter a happy meal you that cost about the same as 300 happy meal toys lol
@@JoseDiaz-pl5kk
Still a Happy meal toy.
@e28forever30 well no, by definition happy meal toys come from happy meals, good luck getting one of these from there
Scalping - terminology I believe, is the biggest downfall of the Swatch group! In essence you buy cheap plastic watch with quartz movement stating What Oh-Meggaaa on it,… I will not pay a mark up scalping price
I dont think I like this. I like the idea but not the product. For the money this collection will likely go for at auction, they could have released a single real Speedy that wouldn't suck and stain your wrist, auction that and help the charity. The only way the moonswatch is worth it is if sold at a discount for buying the collection to get the case. They are plastic toys with no real long term collector value because they are plastic toys that will deteriorate over time.
They hide behind a charity to stop criticism. Omega could just donate money quietly.
Yeah. An effective charity is a great and rare thing. Not passing judgement in this instance but every second millionaire has "a charity" - usually with their name on it, and established for tax reasons or token PR. I would have loved to have heard more details on the work and the charity personally. I'd love to be optimistic but there's nothing like a little bit more detail...
Now I would like to hear what Rolex does for charity, just curious
Aren't they technically owned by a charity? But... Well "charity". Sadly you'd almost have to audit one or work for them / receive benefit from them for a time these days too know if they're genuine and effective. Charitable trusts and NGOs purely for tax purposes and PR are sadly in abundance.
I remember the 1960s Longines Wittnauer watches were popular and a good price. At first I was interested in a moon Swatch, I am in Indiana and so the closest Swatch boutique is in Dallas Texas. At that point I lost interest all together.
I shan’t watch this video. I’m afraid I’m gona be disappointed
Whenever I see one in the wild it looks killer
Agree, I often will ask the wearer the back story why they picked that version etc - and they are always keen to discuss. You cant really do that with more premium watches - as people can take it the wrong way with a few notable exceptions eg the original Omega Moonwatch.
Hell with swatch and Omega. They don't exist as far as I'm concerned.
You were wrong, it is not hot garbage - at best lukewarm garbage...
Essentially, Swatch did a Robin Hood... Rob from the rich to give to the poor.
Nahhh, they Hyped the plastic quartz with name: Omega, and All the losers bought it
@@vitmat7779
@@vitmat7779indeed... while nobly milking the impressionable out of good money for substandard goods. I suppose we 'should' be impressed for what it was - a triumph of marketing
I think the moons watches are fun. Great that they are donating to a charity.
It's a publicity stunt
Oh really? 😂
Imagine if the Swatch Group would've invested just a little more in construction and quality. It would've been worth paying the extra bucks for the ability to service a mid-tier movement making it a long-term collectable to potentially pass on to future generations respecting the Omega Speed Masters legacy. In my humble opinion. The Blancpain is just a little better but still......
And why would they do that trying to compete with their actual prime brands? They have their luxury brands and their Swatch Happy Meal toy brand for the masses and no intention to change that.
Sure, it's for a "good cause" but it's still a TRASH watch 🤷🏽♂️🤮
Gotta keep generating that content eh? 😂
Literally my job. 🤡🫵

I wasn’t aware you’ve paid me. Keep commenting tho! 🤑
donating to charity does not a good watch make
Yup, the charity has nothing to do with the objective quality of the watch. It's good that it was used for that purpose, but it doesn't mean the watch itself is great. If that was a deciding factor to make it great, then one can use any cheap toy for this purpose and say it's "great".
I love my mission to the Sun! But will never wear it, too fragile … but hey, whoever said you need to wear a watch :-).
Biggest facepalm ever. Protecting that Happy Meal toy of yours, are you?
@@veganbutcherhackepeterexactly!!
The moonswatch look cheap, feel cheap, some say is a disposable plastic toy watch n the fact it is cheap. However it do outsale Rolex n it do cause a storm steal all the show in 2022 just before watch n wonder.
Yeah, because you need to be blind to own one of those watches 🤣🤣.
...or perhaps you weren't
Sorry, I got to go! 😒
Simply don’t bother.
When seen in person, the Moonswatch did not meet exoectations, regardless of the golden seconds hand. I much prefer my affordable Timex Expedition Field Chrograph for its robustness, and military aesthetics.
Just over the Speedmaster and the Moonswatch. I've gotten completely sick of both.Too much of something isn't good. I'm at the point if someone starts to talk about either ill walk away from them 😅
Saw a speedy on the arm of a Solicitor in the Dublin Criminal Courts 😂
@@OscarOSullivan😂😂😂
and happy meal toys are just as good as the hot toys action figures right ?
This watch is bad. I understand the fact about anyone that would like a piece of history then Bulova Lunar is a great choice.
The idea of selling it for a good cause is always cool and I hope some crazy person will purchase it for like 100K and knowing from history it will re-sell for like a 1mil if sold again.
Hopefully Omega will not be the one that will end up buying it. Well, maybe hopefully...
I'm getting the real thing... miss my old Speedy.. really detest the disposable swatch toys .... space junk
YES DONATE MONEY TO POOR BLIND PEOPLE . BUT OMEGA IS KNOW TO BID ON THEIR WATCHES TO BUMP UP THE PRICE ON THEIR OWN WATCHES
If that gets more money for the charity, who cares! Maybe they will win their own product! 😂
And 5G towers have made your brain all weird and got your caps key stuck.
So - Jory - since my classic CWC mechanical field watch is apparently a ‘sports watch?????’ I’m gonna go right ahead as a fellow watch aficionado and say you’d call the Moonswatch a…. dress watch?
Funny how that was two weeks ago and you’re still fuming about that. No, the Speedmaster is usually considered a sports watch.
Nah, it's not a sports watch. CWC says you can't even take it swimming.
@@veganbutcherhackepeter thank you - some common sense
