As a country boy myself and child of a pioneer family here in North Clark County WA, my grade school class sang this song often as a group. But I hope you read your comments, because I want to say this: I'm still proud of America and all our ancestors built out of this wild land. You have the character and genuine trust of people to do a lot of good, if you can write some positive music to go with your grievances. I agree with the grievance, but focusing on that is, I think, part of what's wrong with America today. Even if you don't feel great about your lot before becoming rich from your music, please sing about our ancestors and pioneers and help bring pride back to the working people of America.
Thanks for covering this song. It's a fav, and pairs well with your guitar and style.
Makes me miss a mountain I never lived on 🥲

@BasedifTrue this may be the best comment to an OA video I have read, and I have read many. In typical OA fasion, so few words, but says so much!!!
