7:10 🙈🙈🙈 that’s not a philodendron. That’s Cercestis mirabilis. Cercestis is the genus, also an aroid just like philodendron.

Learned that like the philodendrons they start terrestrial and then becomes climbing epiphytes. All the care is near identical to most similar type philodendrons. I’ll pin your comment to get the right info out there.

I love my Cercestis as well! It's a slow grower. Only gave me a few leaves in a span of 1 year. But now it has a stolon and baby plants are growing so I'm super happy about that!

What do you think of using the sphagnum Moss on top for extra humidity? Do you think that would help at all?
I think so! but seems like more of a temporary fix until it gets dry..

I've had a pretty bad night. Watching your videos make me relax a bit thinking of other things then BS that's happened to me.
I don't want togo into details but I was feeling pretty 💩😞, I havent even watched half your video yet but typing this out helps me with my emotional problems even if no one reads it.
TBH I'm how they say "half out the bag" and am very emotional after having an altercation with my "friends".
I will always be thankful for the plants and pets I have, they will never be a**holes, which even a friend could be.
(If a friend is using you it's clearly bad, but if a friend needs you, that's a different story, and I need some better friends I believe... doesn't mean lose the friends I already have but if they're leading me to bad choices then F*** them, am I right?)
(Edit: haven't yet fully watched the video and am feeling calmer and more relaxed then when I first clicked which has kinda stopped me from thinking about the negativity. THANK YOU SO MUCH JIMMY a.k.a Swhiskey 😊 still love the old name, just keep me away from the Whisk(e)y.😉 )

Hi Jimmy, so I'd like to put some plants in my new fish room and I was wondering if you could give me a few suggestions. Plant keeping experience level would be noob.... I planned on initially just doing some Pothos and Philodendrons cuttings, but would love to hear others you might recommend
Start with pothos and trailing/climbing philodendrons. Ones you can buy at lowes like Philodendron Brazil, Hederaceum, Cordatum. Once you get used to their watering pattern you can move onto like other big leaf ones. Draecenas are awesome too as they give you a desert palm look. Start with lowes / Home Depot plants and work your way up basically.

My favorite insect is the praying mantis but it is too bad that their lifespan is soooo short...less than a year, no matter how perfectly they are raised. Good thing you got it as a hatchling so you can keep it longer.
