Five years ago a friend and myself fitted a power assisted starting to my Massey Fergus 165mark one,it was relatively simple to fit and was a real treat to drive, indeed I could not have driven without as I have arthritis in the shoulders.
Thanks for the video. My brother has Parkinson's and because of it he is no longer able to drive his 35 Massey Ferguson because it has no power steering. He was talking about getting a different tractor with power steering. Maybe he will watch this video and just put power steering on his old.35 Massey Ferguson he has own it since 2004.
Is this a purchased kit? Or did you build it. With all the cutting and bending on the center link i was curious. Its awesome no the less. I have a massy 65 diesel id like to convert
could you have inverte the 2 brackets, right one to the left and the left one to the right so the transversal shaft be in font of the axel and closer to the radiator instead. and have the cylinder on the right side near the pump
Would you be able to tell me what size and type those Hydraulic adapters are on that high pressure hose? I have a 68 Massey and I need to replace a power steering hose. My power steering pump is just like the one you have.
Fitted a similar system to a 135 about 30 years ago, the geometry was totally wrong,Ispent hours trying to modify it but ended up binning the whole thing.
Where did you get this kit? After watching again I see this Ferguson is made near the same as the Fordson Dexta and I bet I could make this kit work on it.
FixinThatUp Thank you mate.I am thinking about using this pump but without gear,i would replace it with belt wheel and make mount for it so that main belt, the one that drives fan and water pump, would drive steering pump too.I have made one modification like that already on my IMT539,check video on my channel.Best of luck!
For the relatively small amount of work to install the kit it saves you so much work just steering the tractor for the rest of your life. It's a good trade off!
Is this a kit, or did you cobble parts and pieces together? How about part numbers? This is an excellent vid, and now I MUST convert my MF TO35. The wife won't be happy, lol.
Seen this video a few times and have enjoyed it. Thinking about it I would have got a new connecting arm made up by a blacksmith. After all it is only agricultural engineering.
I have a Diesel Ford 3000 with manual steering. Also a Fordson Dexta that is about the same as your MFer 35 I assume they both share the same Perkins diesel engine. Anyway the Dexta is bad enough that I wish it had a kit but the 3000 absolutely needs power steering. The 3000 my dad has , has factory power steering with 2 or one cylinder on each side and it uses the double pitman with out a front draglink. That is a LUVLEE setup from Ford factory. The MF's also had the same setup from factory. The only kit I can find has the add on one sided cylinder with a really Gawdy draglink that goes under the engine instead of how you fellers done it. From pictures the drag link is half way to the ground from the axle. Not that I abuse my equipment but I could see that stupid drag ling shaped like a horseshoe wrapped around a stump. I know I would because a short time back I drove around the barn and had forgotten I'd set a 4x4 transfer case down and wrapped my truck draglink around that thing. I'm glad you folks were able to run that one above the front axle support. I think this 3000 just has too much going on to run it through there. I do have an acetalyne torch handy tho. I have it all figured out now. The sky is the limit if I go over the hood. It'll look like an angles halo😁😂😄
FixinThatUp glad it worked out tho! We have a ford 6600 and a 2600. Both have power steering but the 2600 leaks the fluid when it runs out it makes the driving rougher.
I would have kept the right side the way it was and eliminate the crossbar tie rod going in front of the engine. It would have put a little more pressure on the steering box but would have kept the tractor the same as was intended.
Why not use the Jackson Power Steering system. Simply bolt the cylinder to the radius rod and clamp a bracket on the drag rod. Then you can use the original drag links, pitman arms and gear box to provide steering without install new spindle arms or tie rod. Simply remove the steering column and shaft and bolt a new steering control module with steering wheel on to the same flange as the steering column. This will allow the wheels to be adjusted in or out for various widths (row cropping) without modifiying the tie rod. It also does not change the tractor and allows the parts to be reinstalled for restoration if desired.
Well done gentlemen with your awesome video.
I JUST HEARD THE NEWS RIP BUDDY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU AND YOURS
Now that I have a MF 35 I will be referencing these videos for more information. Thanks

Noticed the spinouts on the back. Let's widen out all four wheels and do some bush hogging. How will that affect the toe out?
that was quite a project. Nothing just bolts on and works. Lucky you were able to get a welder out to your place! hehehehe
it was a job spread out several weeks - them good welders are hard to find - Jim's getting there - it wouldn't stop raining here
Did you ever try a loader like an Allied 300 on it with your new power assist added.
Fitted a similar system to a 135 about 30 years ago, the geometry was totally wrong,Ispent hours trying to modify it but ended up binning the whole thing.
Who makes this kit? Do they make a kit for a Massey Furgeson 65? Can you add power steering assist to a 65 the same way?
That power assist is going to make all the difference.
it sure will i need to get more spoiled
what was the name of this part which was under the altinator
very nice job.
if you turned the right side knuckle inward instead out ward you may not had to cut an lengthen the connecting rod
What kit did you use for the power steering
Verry Good brother
would it also fit on a Fordson Dexta?
Will that kit work on Ford 8n ??
Super bro
Where did you get the conversion kit? How much

Hello! Is it possible to mount this kit on MF 155? I think that all parts would fit or could be fitted, i am only concered about the steering pump.
Hi there, I have no idea? it works great on this 35 though! Sorry couldn't be of more help....

Good project! Now it won't tire a man out trying to turn it.
Dang Right been wanting to use it the Lazy Way cause I'm gettin so Lazy lol
Run that exhaust straight up, we caught our hay on fire once.
Nope, you will knock it off going through the trees. Got to use it like you need it.
You might start a fire in a tree then)))
Good job

I Hope it's easy as Pie and then somebody brings me some pie also

I reckon you should have oscillated the front axle before welding up

I'm so sry to hear about your family's loss. My prayers for all of you go to our Lord Christ Jesus. God bless you all 💗🙏💗
Really want to see an update on the tractor. Did it affect the turning radias?
It did, I'd say it minus'd 20 % on the left and about the same maybe a little more on the right but all in all it is well worth it!
FixinThatUp glad it worked out tho! We have a ford 6600 and a 2600. Both have power steering but the 2600 leaks the fluid when it runs out it makes the driving rougher.
Power steering ki Kitni price hai bhai

In India here is more easy n good looking power stering n easliy can install by our mechanics.

I'm putting hydraulic steering on my massey 85 gas job. Put a ford front end loader on it now can't steer it. Goin all hydrolic.
