These cars look pretty good, got the BNSF mismatched hood car as well plus a Central Of Tennessee Railroad version. Mine also had the issue of the etched metal walkway separating too, but that seems to be a problem with alot of cars of similar types no matter who makes them. Its kinda one reason I tend to not operate many steel coil cars because they seem so fragile!

Yea these are a lot more solid than the 42' versions they made a few years ago but still fragile and a lot of potential for details to break off.

Hello, thanks for the review and your opinion regarding the product. I received the HO scale CTRN, but the etched metal walkways are not separated like yours. However, my version does not roll freely, there is a lot of resistance/drag. I have not had a chance to look closely into the truck/wheel issue, but have heard others mention the drag. Thanks, Terry

One thing that sucks about these IRL is the bottom shelf couplers, if you have to make a air hose between one of these and a boxcar and the slack is out it’s a pain in the ass

How those walkways look like that and you still give it a score of 88 just shows how bias you are towards this brand. That looks like complete garbage and is unacceptable. You shouldn't have dismissed it as not a big issue.

just an example of all that knowledge which means nothing when the product is bad and the reviewer is biased.

What bothers me more about this is how (no surprise) the issues aren’t shown on the Scaletrains website and product images. Seems like another widespread QC issue from them.

It’s nothing a little glue can’t fix, you can’t complain about metal detail pieces and then be surprised when they warp from the temperature/humidity changes they see during transit.

I agree. This was hugely disappointed. This is a premium product. Totally unacceptable.
