Great review! I watched a few other reviews prior and agreed with your sentiments about the imperfections, particularly with the discoloration of molded parts. This along with the sprue marks seems pretty sloppy. Granted, this is their first release and I’m sure there are some teething issues with setting up manufacturing and such. But for how much this car costs, and based on their marketing about it being perfection and impeccably detailed, it’s a bit disappointing for me.
great review. I personally think they knocked these cars our of the park. First time manufacturer is expected to have some minor issues but the level of detail they put into these cars is remarkable. Having a smaller layout, I'd much rather fill that space with high end single models like this than a 5 pack of average detail Walther's but that's a personal preference. The slight color variation will disappear with weathering and I honestly never look at couplers, unless they uncouple.. I look forward to new announcements by this manufacturer.
Very well said, only person that can fill a full train with expensive cars like this one is millionaires. Walthers Mainline look just as good a few feet away and get 4 more cars for same price.
their prices are way too high... so many other manufacturers products are really nice( athearn/walthers/kato/etc) at very reasonable prices. entering today's market, with the economy as it is, while offering an over-priced model that really is not needed within the hobby, is pure stupidity !!! i am not saying that the cars are not nice, they are, but at 67 or so bucks per model it is idiotic to think a company could remain in business while the above companies (their competition) are doing nicely offering the same models that are nicely detailed. the owners of this company must be retarded.... kind of like what happened in the market with the venerable F3's and F7's....do we really need more ? lets get our kids into the hobby with reasonable prices, not scaring them or their parents away with highly detailed products that are over priced and not really needed.
I have been in this hobby since the early 1970s, and i agree with you,my criticism of this hobby has gotten very expensive even in 1970s standards you could had bought 2 blue box athearn rolling stock kits for $2.85.but at same time too dress up a old athearn to more detailed model most people today wouldn't spend the time, they rather have a model like this out of the box.
Nice honest review. Keep up the good work. #TeamSidetrackx all the way
Thank you for your review. This will help me on my decision on this car. I am looking forward to their deep center flat coming.
Glad I could help. Which one were you planning on getting? I'm looking at the UP & CEI variants.
@@SideTrackX CEI variants.

Glad it was helpful! I still have high hopes for the GSC Depressed flat car, I think they'll get it straighten out.

Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for Watching!
My only concern is the "card stock" containers. Figured at least plastic.
Your rating system is quite tough, but it brigs the best out of the models.
Yeap, try to be unbiased and fair but models only get high scores if they deserve it. Thanks for Watching!
The plastic and body coloring does not appear to match. For the price, this should of been addressed !!!!
Yeap, hopeful they get it figured out for the depressed flat or second well car runs. Thanks for Watching!
The little Ben that could. Chug along my sweet prince

Yes, hobby is turning into a rich man's game and leaving everyone else standing around with nothing. Thanks for watching!

Minor issues on models are to be expected. None of the manufacturers is perfect. They made a great looking model though.
Correct, still a great model and nothing that can't get fixed. Thanks for Watching!
