    Reviews for basic tools like these usually are years old videos. Then those older creators already changed style or don't feel the need to revisit the basics again.
    So it's really nice to see someone still doing updates, because we do get new stuff like the hobby mio.
    Also, you do the best tests, man!
    Despite the lengthy durations sometimes lol 😅 keep up the awesome work! Looking forward to the glass file test!

    I love my Tamiya cutters. Had them now for three years. They cut really smooth and the parts don't fly off into space. Haven't lost a part since I started using them. Looking forward to your review on the glass files. I only have one glass file right now and it's a game changer. Great video as always👍

    I absolutely love the Dspiae ST-A Single Blade Nippers (My favourite tool brand) and believe that they're better. I also have Godhands GH-SPN 120 (My 2nd Favourite tool brand) -And yes it's spelled properly the Canadian way LOL -and they're also excellent

    I really love my Tamiya sharp points, theyre always useful, while my MENG single blade pair is really only good for very flat parts where it can get right up against the part. The Tamiya is excellent for anything else.
    Id like to try another nicer pair of single sided cutters though, not sure I want to spring for godhands however, even though I can afford it I like to be different lmao

    I wonder why the say "for plastic only" if they are hardend? Understandable that we wouldn't want to cut hard metals but the soft ones should not harm a hardend blade. (I used to make custom knives with my brother so i was just wondering.)

    That’s why we paint the figures. The white means nothing when covered by paint. I owned the hobby mood. And they worked for one kit. Then they just went to crap. Not really built to last. At least that’s what my experience was with them. I just use my dspiea and god hands. I use the tamiya nippers for all my first cuts.

    I bought the Tamiya 123 for fine work and they broke after 2 days. No warranty. I think they are not tempered correctly. Never had a problem with any other nippers I've owned.

    I love your all vid reviews specially paint reviews, and you must have an extensive collection of paint jars/bottles. What is your system for storing your paints for longevity? Or any recommendations? Maybe a vid of paint longevity after 1-2 years?

  • @Bob0sModelFabWorx

    Actually, that "white" we see is from the blades of the nippers. There are two sharply angles blades and it's the result of the blades "moving" the plastic until a breaking point is reached. The white is where the breaking point is.
    There are nippers that are called "single blade" nippers that will not do that since they aren't "moving" any plastic but actually cutting into the plastic until all the way through.
    I'm surprised you didn't include these in your test.

    I am happy with my Dspiae nippers they work great for me. As for the glass files have some tape, clear sellotape preferably, to remove plastic from the siren. The tape needs a good adhesive to get it out, clear for the camera.

  • @ying3966

    Interesting take on the bandai nippers for the initial cut. I use the tamiya first then I go in for the kill with godhand. Tamiya actually looks and/or different so I wouldn't really compare them. I would place hobbymio in front of other "single blade nipper" just like dspiae, godhands or other similar attributes. Tamiya is a side cutter with twin blades just like the bandai. All IN All there is only one true winner everyone needs to understand, all you need is a good nipper whether single bladed or twin blades and to make sure you don't cut or gut into the plastic piece, after that you sand it regularly with sponge/sticks of starting 400 then going 600, 800, 1000 (or variants since they exist) and using hobby knife if possible or the new popular method from 2 years ago, glass filing with probably gunprimer leading the names but dspiae works wonders. The true winners of a straight build is sanding or glass files. If you're planning to customize, you can just get the smooth surface and move on since you'll be processing the primer then paint afterwards. If possible just use your own nail to test smoothness or to remove a little whitening.

    Nice review! The Hobby Mios look good, but I still like the Micro Marks. I wonder if Godhands having some supply chain issues like everyone else. I've noticed a lot of quality issues with many different products the last couple of years. We've run through a lot of backstock that was produced before the pandemic and the quality of what's being produced now seems to have dropped a little.

    • @mynock5012
      @mynock5012 2 роки тому +2

      Quality of everything has become junk since the pandemic. It's a convenient excuse for manufacturers to cut costs and labor and then be like "becuz pandemic, sowwy." It's infuriating, it's lazy of the companies, and because every company does it the consumer has no better option but to flip a coin and hope they get something decent... Everything I've purchased since mid-2020 has been junk, from a refrigerator (which I've had to have replaced twice in less than 2 years!!!) to hobby paint/tools, all from once staple brands in their respective industries for quality.

    Just buy a good pair of electrician side cutters or flush cutters. Brands like Klein will be superior in every aspect to the gimmicky "hobby-specific" tools.

    • @mdaniels292
      @mdaniels292 2 роки тому +3

      You have no clue what you are talking about. Klein is overpriced crap. German and Japanese tools are way superior. Klein doesn't even make a one bladed flush cutter.
