    I don't know how many times I played your video, but what is clear is that I fell in love watching your video reviewing the Boss Ve-500 pedal effects, so I couldn't sleep and wanted to have this effect. But I realized that I didn't have any money, hahah. My money is lost, can you donate this effect for me to work on??? 😀😀.

    What does the hybrid key-scale/chord-input do if you set it to C major key, but then play an Ab major chord in the guitar input? If you then sing a G and have the harmony voice set to a third above, does it harmonize with B, Bb or C? What I mean is, does hybrid mode mean "every harmony voice is one of the guitar input chord tones when there's guitar signal, otherwise it's according to the scale". Or does it try to mix the guitar chord into the key scale, for example so that playing an Ab major chord would make B flat as well as A, because a B natural would make no sense over an Ab major in practically any scenario where you'd use a harmonizer. I'm missing this kind of musical settings in harmonizers.

    I have zoom v6. It’s good it has dials and buttons you can interact anytime with them. I love it’s FX harmonies and voice processing. But it has no midi input. And I can’t adjust affect level etc they are fixed so I want to buy another pedal and I’m looking and searching for a while on Internet, UA-cam.. now I am between two brands Roland vt4 and boss ve500. I know I won’t use any vocal effects just use some unison/doubler, hormonies and sometimes pitch correction. Because on zoom V6, I never touch many effects. So somebody says Roland VT4 is more better in pitch correction and harmonies. I am ready to buy boss VE 500. But roland vt4 makes this decision Hard. I want to ask your opinion which one I should choose and why?

    Quick question… when switching between presets (or even when bypassing the unit), does the effect cut off? Or does it have trails?

    ahhh loving your videos! After checking various harmonizers and vocal effects... I think I'm sold on the VE500! Basically I'll mainly be using it just the for the reverbs, delays and harmonies (fixing the keys on the unit, without having to run my guitar through it) Only one question, does it have compression!? Thanks dude! :)

    • @thepedalpicassos

    I’ve asked the same question on one of your other videos but why did you choose the Boss VE-500 over the TC Helicon play effects pedal? Also you you know the difference between all the range of TC Helicon Play pedals such as the GTX, acoustic, electric etc or is it just marketing. Thanks

    • @thepedalpicassos
      @thepedalpicassos  2 роки тому +6

      The main reason it the switch! I turn the harmony on ad off 100s of times every gig… and the boss units have way better switches!! I’ve had acoustic play and the gtx… and the both only lasted 3 months! I do play a lot of gigs though… like 3 or 4 gigs a week… and they’re 4 hours long!!

    1- Is VE500 is also compatible (with built-in preamps) with e-guitars, unlike VE8 Acoustic Singer?
    2- I am planing to use VE500 with my Fender Strat and Boss GX100 effekt processor. Do you think there will be loss of sound quality if I connect them and use together?

    hello again. You helped me with the VE 500 a few weeks ago and i've since purchased the unit. I play both keyboard and bass and sometimes cant see exactly where the three switches at the bottom are. All I want to do is hit the 3rd button on the right to turn the harmony on and off. If I hit the middle button, it automatically starts recording my voice, then playing it back which i'm terrified of doing at gigs. I'm playing tonight and will likely not use the harmony feature much to prevent this from happening. Is there something in the setting section i can adjust so the middle button is inactive? I appreciate your input and enjoy your video's

    • @thepedalpicassos
      @thepedalpicassos  Рік тому +2

    Thanks for this..-- I own a VE 500. What has been your experience with the unit tracking fingerstyle or dropped tunings? Also, I often choke--capo--to get a song within an octave of my vocal range--DEEP voice. Has this complicated harmonies or, if you use it, pitch correction for you?

    • @thepedalpicassos

      Hi Bill! I’ve only found 1 problem with the unit… If I play a chord with an alternative base note, for example, a D major chord with an F# bass, the unit gets confused… other than that… it’s worked pretty flawlessly! Another thing to remember is to have it very first in your signal train! It seems to work it’s best when it’s the very first thing with the cleanest possible guitar signal

      I wonder if it’s just guitarists making these effects.. like phaser? Flanger? Come on…
      99% of vocal effects require reverbs, DUCKED delays (much diff than straight guitar delays to avoid lyrics getting muddy) and compression. Just like strymon makes a Big Sky with years of research into reverbs… I’d prefer these vocal pedals to just focus on the useable stuff.. and spare us the garbage trippy stuff

    with all due respect: It just baffles me that all these harmony pedal videos never play music that musicians actually play live. All they show is their terribly subpar music with lyrics telling us "how it sounds with..." come on guys, this does absolutely nothing for a working musician. How about doing a CSNY song? Huh? Its not only this guy, everybody does that crap and thus they never show what this pedal can do. This is the worst PR for any pedal you can do. Please, do some real songs that the vast majoroty of musicians play, or at home, or in public. I play 0ver 120 songs with my Digitec vocalist 5 , and, believe me, I need to know how the friggin' pedal sounds in a real song. Again: With all due respect!
