  • I am not Dr Sanjay Gupta from CNN who recently commented on President Trump's calcium score. I am a cardiologist in the UK but I thought I would use this opportunity to educate people on what coronary disease means and how to reduce your likelihood of reducing the chances of firstly developing it and secondly stopping it from progressing.

Thank you for creating educational videos. I watch quite a bit. I've experienced SVT and sinus pauses for about 9 months now. Your videos are very helpful in understanding the differences with heart diseases, etc.

I was wondering when you'd correct that misunderstanding. I did by a quick google search when I first found your channel. Thanks for another informative and helpful video. All the best to you.

I'm a new subscriber and have learned so much from your videos. I've not seen or read much on cryotherapy treatments and very concerned about the safety of these treatments. I'm not in the medical field but common sense tells me it can't be safe for the heart. Can you do a video on this? Thank you!

Can you do a video on what the calcium score test is and what it means and if it is a reliable test. How else would you know if you have a bit of crude? Do you use this test in the UK? How do you determine was the arteries look like inside? Love your channel!!! Thank you.

Hey dr. Sanjay I have a quick question for you, lately I've been waking up in the middle of the night with quivering in my breathing I have had pvac and pac heart rhythms as well as bradycardia. I'm 29 years old and did a complete stress test 5 years back only the show nothing was wrong except an occasional inverted T wave. What are my chances of having developed heart failure since then?

Hi Dr. Gupta, I have recently had the good fortune to stumble across your channel and sites and am now following. Thank you for an illuminating presentation, and I apologise in advance for this long post. I don't know if you have the bandwidth for questions but I've had CHD for 20 years. First heart attack in 1999 and another episode in 2009 both of which required an angiogram and stents. I was diagnosed as T2D and changed my lifestyle as you've described and have pretty much reversed all of my metabolic syndrome BUT the big question is, for those of us in my position (blockages) who are doing this how do we know we are doing any good other than being asymptomatic? If you've got "crud" you can have regular CAC scans and see if the plaque has stabilised, but if you have had invasive treatment this doesn't seem to be an option. Is other another way? My apologies for the long post but its so frustrating not being able to get answers or guidance for people in my position. I'm sure there are others out there.

Do you recommend vitamin k2? It is suppose to keep calcium from building up in the arteries - which would be great as long as it doesn't pull calcium from hardened plaques.

Hi Dr, Thank you for sharing the details. Hope MRNA can help to clear the calcification in arteries. Some Dr's recommending LCHF diet for Arteries calcification.
and some Dr's recommending no grain for 2 years and calcification issue will be resolved. Please update your thoughts on this.

Thank you - dr Gupta do you think CT angiogram is accurate for calcium scoring? I am a graduate statistics student, and I have looked at studies posted by ncbi and the studies show significant evidence that CT angiogram is a good indicator for young low risk patient. What do you think?
    Thanks again

Great video! My problem is twofold with the Mediterranean diet--1) the use of fish which has mercury and 2) oil which according to Dr Caldwell Esselstyn says, harms the endothelial cells instead I have gone on the plant based diet even though my problem does not necessary involve having a lot of calcium deposits in my arteries--I have AFib.

Wild caught fish once a month? Organic cold pressed minimal oil? With The dietitian should tell you better. Vegetables should bring the endothelium damage. Turmeric is arteroprotective

You don't find wild Salmon in the mediterranean see. Salmon is a cold water fish. Get the wild Atlantic or Sockeye Salmon or Scottish Salmon. No Mercury is Wild Salmon. However take Selenium daily to counteract heavy metals.

Dr. Gupta, if I am asymptomatic, might a 99th+ percentile bone density (as determined by the standard tests for that), might it give me a high CT Coronary Angiogram score? And, if so, how may I get a more accurate assessment of my cardiac plaque risk?
    Thank you,
    Rick

My CT angiogram came back as moderate plaque so I was immediately labeled with coronary artery disease and put into cardiac rehab which is scaring the burger and fries out of me. Actually I was in the ER last May for stomach spasms and my troponin level was slightly elevated 0.04 (?) After vigorously working in my garden for a couple of hours I just turned 60 years old.
