Bannerlord Tactics: "300" Challenge, Volume XIV: Desert Waste 300 Vs. 2500 Aserai??

- Heya friends, we're continuing with this series due to the constant requests and we take our war-hardened band of high level companions and family members(40+ strong!), and challenge foes in a narrow valley, somewhat similar perhaps to what the Spartans faced 2500 years ago against the Persians... How far can we push these 'Spartans' in Bannerlord? Soon we'll see!
What prompted this series?
I get asked a lot in my campaign just how strong a small army can be in Bannerlord. So in this episode we take a fantasy trip into another world and time, taking a small breather from my death-match campaign to explore the potential of how strong a hand-picked army of 300 men in Bannerlord can be. This series will show ever-increasingly difficult challenges as I wander the map with my own "Spartans", deploying elite troops into advanced tactics in search of Glory. With some 45 companions and family members, many who are over level 40, we shake our shields and howl our war cries as the enemy closes in.... Enjoy!

My campaign is an extremely late-game campaign where I am resolved to give no peace to these scum Kingdoms attacking me - seven of the eight have been at war for years, with only Sturgia at a neutral stance. My family of warriors is now large though and with what remaining strength and valor we can must, we stand against the map of Calradia.

I use four mods:
Lord Retinue Uptier(Makes the enemy forces stronger, much less peasants and lower ranked troops)

Improved AI Troops(Also makes enemy lords and their armies tougher by giving them a higher daily xp rate. This means you'll routinely face armies with HUGE numbers of the highest tier units, sometimes four or five times the normal amount in vanilla Bannerlord): www.nexusmods....
Death for all: This mod allows you to set the rate at which nobles die more often. I want both a harder challenging late-game but also a more realistic game. If you're cut down with a massive aserai two-handed axe, you shouldn't just be injured 99.9% of the time. It's a very customizable mod so you can just a little more death or set the death rate so high you get several deaths every battle. The number I often like is '10', some deaths but not a massacre of nobles...

I also use the Dismemberment Plus Mod: It's highly customizable and works seamlessly with the new beta(and versions back to 1.28). I thoroughly recommend it if you enjoy carnage!:

I've also used Realistic Battle Mod in the past and highly recommend it for Ai and battle realism BUT I find the pace too slow for my taste and the AI is actually rather predictable after a half dozen battles. Still I wanted to put a plug in for it here, it's a GREAT mod and highly configurable. www.nexusmods....
Much of the music and inspiration for this and other videos in the channel are inspired by Epic History TV - probably THE best channel on youtube(and the internet for that matter) covering the Napoleonic wars. With amazing work Epic History TV takes you through the dramatic and incredibly story of Napoleon covering all of his most famous battles. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Thank you! Most of the time the music is fairly random from a large playlist, but sometimes I do pre-plan a battle with themed music. I #$(#*$ LOVE the Dune music and Hans Zimmer...

@HeadlessHorsemanProductions I told the wife if I ever did get a new woman, she'd be number one wife and the new and any subsequent wives would be to do all the chores while we went out... she had a fairly long think about it before I got punched. But you could tell her heart wasn't in it by the few teeth that flew out. Bless... :D

13:20 When you shift your infantry left of the hill, you are still exposing the shield side of the troops and not the sword side. I understand ceding the high ground is suicide and this is most certainly the best play, however you say you are exposing the enemies weak flank and that is incorrect. In a flat situation go left with the ranged! Well done on the kill box on the second try, felt very Cannae. Excellent battles, funny as usual, and good fucking job!
Yep, there's going to be quite an adjustment period before I can add your tactics to my strategy - I have a cache now of a few dozen videos loaded into youtube so the addition of your left sided flank is a little ways off(like a month). Thanks again for that!

Hard terrain. Narrow but not narrow enough. And too featureless to aford many options. They paid dearly on that first playthrough. To the last axe swing.
It's about the most difficult "300" battle I've had so far, or... ahem... that I have PUBLISHED. Harder ones coming...
