i have a dairy, sugar mill and a bakery and experiencing some good profits. The fact that i can top the beets and harvest as needed it a BIG plus to ensure sugar production during unharvestable times. 💃
The trailer you're using for dumping the sugar beets has a moving floor. I position the bucket for cut beets right underneath the back of the trailer and unload directly into the sugar mill. It takes a while, but it saves on buying conveyer belts.
That's a really good idea. I use a cutting trailer from the modhub, but it only holds 20k. I'm assuming the cutting bucket, will be continuous as long as the trailer has a large capacity?
I have a multi-fruit silo on my farm where I can load directly into the chopper bucket and then move over a few feet and unload. After watching your video it looks like it would be even easier to use that train silo since the output spout is directly over the dump trigger. You should be able to load a truckload into the silo, then position the chopper bucket under the spout and pretty much do the same thing you did with the belt system, without the expense of the belts. You should end up with a silo full of cut sugarbeets ready to load back into your truck. I had a sugar beet contract where I ended up with 43,698 liters of beets that sold for $429, instead I cut them up and sold for $581.
Nice video again, and beets look like they could be a lot of fun and although time consuming I think quite rewarding from the normal hum drum grain crops. Thanks for you help, really don't know where I would be without these marvellous How Too series.
@@FarmerKlein Well I can't say I'm exactly new to the game (since 2009) but I still learn a lot fom your vids and pick up some good tips and indeed better ideas. You can teach an old dog new tricks :)
Your videos are so helpful. I'd never done Sugar beet harvesting before, bought a Maus and wondered why I couldn't hire an AI to work the field. How wrong was I. :D. Thanks so much, now I know whats going on!
Hey, for storing the sugar beets you can also use the in-game bulk hall and use conveyors to load and unload. This also applies to potatoes and I think it's meant for these crops
I generally top and use the pull behind in two passes. Put a helper on topping on a small tractor and use your main tractor to pull the harvestor. I also ground dump in piles and then after the harvest is complete I lease a loader to cart to elevators.
If you use the harvester yourself it's easier to see where you need to go if the greens are still on, so it might be good to attach the topper to the front
Do the train silos accept cut sugar beets? If so, you should be able to park the cut bucket under the output pipe and just let the cut beets flow straight back into the silo. No additional belt needed.
Or you could use a planter that cultivates at the same time as seeding. And if you have the proper one, you can even do the first round of fertilizing at the same time
Main thing I am curious of is if the RRXL 9 row header is compatible with the panther 2 harvester. I understand that the 6 row is intended for the panther 2 and the 9 row is intended for the tiger 6 but I have not found clarity on if they are cross compatible between machines.
@@FarmerKlein just for reference I tried out the RRXL 9x45 on the Ropa Panther 2 on last harvest and it did work well. Only thing is ai won’t use full swath for each pass. Thanks again.
looks much more cost effective (atleast to start) to use a ground pickup conveyor to an auger lift setup, to pick up sugarbeats as opposed to using that big maus to do so. like you have setup for the cutting.
Isnt that KRAMPE 3 in 1 trailer a walking floor, tipper, and ejector to ? I know the walking floor can be switched on or off and also forward and backwards, and idea how to change the tip mode is It key U Or I or G .... lol also the new Krone trailer has a belt that can go forwards or backwards and the ejector plate moves with it, great video by the way. Cheers.
This is very cool! I was wondering if you would drive the semi along side the lifter and then go to a piling station or the factory. I loved your make shift auto chopping of the beets from the trailer dump.
Did they change how productions buildings work in the newer update? I thought it you activated more processes such as making sugar from beets and cut beets then the production is cut in half for each. For example, if you have both activated then you would be making 6000L of sugar from straight beets and 7200L from cut sugar beets for a total of 13,200L. 47:00
@@FarmerKlein Oh really? I am doing sugar beets right now so I will check that out. I've tried it with greenhouses and its halves and thirds the production when you activate more than one.
Ask me how many buttons I've pressed on the grimme belts, and curse words I've slung trying to cut and load these things from mass pile to cutter over the trailer, and the cuttings go through the trailer on he ground. I think ps5 has some weird issues that I'm not seeing anyone talking about.
For cutting, wouldn't it be more efficient to, when you dump on the ground, instead dump into the cutting bucket and have that put the cut beets onto the ground? Then you can avoid worrying about an extra stage of cutting them.
Thats one way to do it in game. For realisum sake I would think you would want to cut them at the very end as cut beets will not stick around near as long as non cut beets.
Do you know how to have the AI's drive vehicles to set points on the map on PS4? I've managed to do it accidentally , but only a couple of times. I'm having to do most off the cfross-country driving, myself.
I have a question. When it says that a new savegame is required to update a map, does that mean that the farm you've built and the fields you've created are gone,or does the savegame just add the updated data to the map?
Updating the map with out starting a new save will usually result in particular visual elements not updating from the change like field definitions that might have been fixed. Terrain changes and foliage changes. Any new things added to the map may not show up properly. A new save would imply starting over using a different save slot. On PC there are some things you could copy over from the old save to the new to keep some things but overall depending on what was updated doing so could result in you not seeing those changes because of what was brought forward from the old save.
@@FarmerKlein I’m brand new and I’m lost I feel like beginner players really need other people too help them because I have no idea what to do or how to start or where to begin

The time will depend on the size of field you have in beeds, the size harvester your using as well as size of trailer and how far your carting the beets. Short answer is it will take a bit of time.
Sugar Beets seem to offer a lot more fun, than sugar cane if you want to use sugar for production, but you would need to really focus on the one crop to make it worth the equipment.
I harvested my sugar beets and placed them on the ground on my field. When I placed them they turned white and look like wood chips. The Maus will not pick them up now.I don't understand what happened to my crop.It took a real day to harvest. What did I do wrong?
I am sorry to hear this. That behavior is very strange and it may be a byproduct of the map your on not being setup correctly or a mod your using somehow messing with the tip to ground fill types. The Maus only picks up beets so I would suggest getting a bucket and trying to pickup a little of it and see what the game tells you is in the bucket as far as filltype. From there you can work out how to get rid of the pile based on what fill type the came has converted the beets to.
I figured out what hapoened.Try this...In your video, you mentioned that you need a certain kind of bucket to make sliced sugar beets.I went and got a skid steer and it scooped up...guess what...SLICED SUGAR BEETS. Try this...Take that red sugar beet trailer, fill it with harvested sugar beets and dump them on the ground. When I did that all my harvest...ALL OF IT...turned into sliced sugar beets.I'll make a fortune off all this and it bypassed all the conveyors and the bucket!
Im wondering if you have a mod installed. I think there is one that adds beet cutting to all the auger wagongs. beets in but when you unload its cut beets. This is not the default behavior of an auger wagon but if you buy the mod enabled version it works this way.
I'm playing on XBOX ONE on Fox Farms.I think it might be that.I was attempting to use the Maus to load into trailers when I noticed that they were all cut.I'm rather new to FS22 so I was really concerned when I couldn't load them.
Princple is the same as a grain header trailer I think the ROPA header needs to be folded and then you drive the header on the trailer when its attached to the harvester and disconnect it should 'snap' into the storage position.
