It's taken UA-cam 3 years to put your videos my way - just as Comet Leonard is here and the Geminids are warming up.
Seen the comet as a fuzzy blur - and plenty of meteors over the past few nights, some impressively deep red ones among them.
I had a very startling introduction to the starry night over 40 years ago (when I was about 11-12), coming back from taking the dog from his nightly walk in Southern England - when this huge, brilliant green gleam lit up the sky right over my head. My heart was won that moment and just love everything space-related ever since.
Subscribed. Love the channel and your evident enthusiasm every time a meteor flared into view.
I hope everyone who reads this has a great 'Geminid' this year!
    Happy skywatching!!

Incredible video as always, I'm definitely putting La Palma on the bucket list!... I was hoping you could give me some lens advice, I'm torn between the Samyang 14mm 2.8 and the Lawoa 15mm 2.0... The Laowa is more than twice the price but a stop faster. Do you think it's worth the extra £?

When I was about 7 years old we were at the seaside and I was outside on a lounger about 8 pm pitch black... I saw a meteor skip across the sky... 4 skips, each time leaving flames... From that moment I was hooked.. Now I'm 51 and go out most nights to try and spot one

I have a question for you has anyone seen a very large thirty to forty foot deep flat round orange glowing disc I say this because that's what I saw flying slowly over my head after 1:00am I watched it for around four minutes. I know this to be a flat disc because it did not look three dimensional like a ball fly West over Gorleston Norfolk UK. Let me know if you ever see one l would like to know, because I don't ever recall ever hearing of another orange glowing disc any where else. NASA what are you hiding from us.

I had a really bad experience in La Palma a few years back, but it was pretty funny
I was supposed to go up to get a tour of the telescopes but missed by bus there. So, after my taxi ride half way up the volcano, I decided to hike up to the top.. but me being me, I took the long and hard way up. (giggity) and well, I didnt know I was above the clouds, and the trail nearly impossible to see. Nearly drying from dehydration while hiking up. A 1.5hr hike took me 6hrs. Luckily saw a pipe on the side of the road on the way down and just drank from it. LOL
On the plus side, I had my tent and camped out under the starts and int the couds. Such a great experience

This is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen
I was up on the 14th of December 2021 on the peak of the Geminids meteor shower and that was my first time ever seeing one I was just amazed at what I was seeing

Hey Alyn, just a question re your A7s. You said you astro modified it but do you still use it for filming the night footage ... ?? If so did the mod make any difference to that side of things. Great work my friend.

In order to film with normal colours I created custom white balances with a grey card. That's it :)

@@nightscapeimages.richard ps. I just had a colour correction filter removed so I get more sensitivity in hydrogen alpha emission nebula. It's not a full spectrum mod

Not bad, But i could trump that 10 fold when one night going ice climbing with my sister in scotland at 1am a meteor came in at a low angle that at first i thought it was a plane engine on fire and the noise got really loud like a jet aircraft on full thrust and then when it flew buy there was a smaller one then another one. The first one was the size of a transit van, the next was the size of a big car and the smaller one was like one of them small E,car size screaming through the air 140db 2.5km where the car was, Just mist a mountain top by 300 ft then screamed across the valley and went behind some hills. The whole thing was about 3 min long from start to finnish and never have i seen such big rocks that size in the night sky, One day before i get old i might go up there and see if i can find them pesky rocks, It came from the north at about a 30 deg low angle? Nice shots by the way, Keep up the good work

I live in Falkirk Scotland and we have a huge oil and gas industrial plant nearby and unfortunately the sky glows up orange every night pretty much and creates clouds as well so I couldn’t see many of these :( I’m moving to Australia though so hopefully there are cool showers there to see in the clear skies!
