I would like to say that I am surprised that such a wonderfully full sound from such small speakers is possible, but I have had B&W Nautilus 805’s for almost 20 years in a 5.1 system and my wife and I still love the sound. Small speakers, when combined with a dedicated sub or two, don’t have to work as hard and can produce just great mid to high end output. Thank you for sharing this.

I found your channel by accident a few days ago and am very happy I did. Great job, and I like you moving around while filming! I think it helps add perspective to the video. With that out of the way I think I might be in love with these speakers! They seem to be very lively with great spacial dynamics! The kind of sound that grabs you and sucks you in!
I have been listening to a pair of Diapason Adamante V's for about month
now. The US dealer at the time had no Karis III's but had a pair of Adamante
V's so I went out on a limb and figured they might share similar sound
characteristics. Anyway, I have been really pleased with them, they sound
great, very musical to my ears!
If it had not been for your channel I would not currently own them, and
would not have been exposed to Diapason at all!

Very good sounding italian speakers.Instead of the usual six surfaces which make up a bog-standard rectangular box, the Karis has 18 surfaces. This faceted enclosure is built from 20-year aged solid Walnut. The surfaces are finely sanded and oiled to not only seduce eyes but hands. Of course this construction isn’t primarily a design statement. It's the result of solid acoustic engineering. About which more anon. That the Karis is a mature product isn’t merely due to the decades its wood was left to dry. This model’s first iteration dates back to 1991 when it launched as a smaller alternative to the company’s Adamante.Direct drive technology,no electrical crossover between the mid/bass driver and speaker terminals.Strange,i still have pair of Bowers from 1990 with the same technology.

I have Karis as shelf, mostly for the cinema, sometimes for SACD music listen, ( together with a Diapason central channel Eos ) - they are just magnificent!.

For voices, louspeakers in the size of a human head my ears find sound the best. This one combined with a subwoofer as a stand and you won't miss anything. Very well designed speaker

Back in the day when I was DJen I had some equipment that wasn't high class but out a helluva good sound 2 bullfrogs each weighed about 150pouds.

Cabinett dispersion seems to have a bigger impact as one think - This cabinett is known to produce less cabinett dispersion and this produces the spacial sound. I am not sure whether this speaker has also a loudness build in but it sounds musical.

The Italians kick ass at building speakers ! I heard these one time and i was speechless i can't afford them at the momment but i finished my degree and finally getting paid good i can see me buying a set one day their amazing ! I would love to review these on me channel ! ! I can here the salvia on the singers lips dam these are one of my favorite but the Polk Audio Lsim 703s are said to be 80 percent of these and i actually bought them and their very good but not like the Italians !
Hi Tee- Jay, I'm surprised you said people say they're 80% of the polk. Or should I say the polk are 80% of these? Never heard these speakers but I would think they're much, much better for what ever that means just based on their price. Heck there are $100,000 stand mounts available now a days and people here are saying that these sound terrific. The polk sound OK/good but I would hope that these $$$$ speakers are night and day compared to the polk? And yes, the JBL studio 5 series aren't even in the ball park when talking about speakers at the MBL level of speaker development. Just surprised people mentioning the 80% because even polk would agree that they're still polk and not a Magico in any sort of way. Nor are they priced that silly either. Do believe the speakers must sound crazy if you say so though!😉🤗😇

Nice, warm tunning - also makes for deep stage. I wish the drums had a bit more bite, just a bit too polite - but then the camera mic does colour the sound on it's own, and maybe the recording is on the sweet side and 'warmish'
How stable are these standmount speakers?
Im thinking about changing my floorstanding speakers for these type of speakers but i have children and im unsure how safe they will be?

Lordy, that is a sexy a$$ room !! Lol. I couldn't imagine spending THAT much on a small but beautiful set of speakers. For that amount of money I'd love to see what full surround sound setup I could put together and still be tickled pink. I'd love to hear at sound room in person! Very impressive stuff.

Hello there! I am wondering... what video camera are you using? Are you using one microphone or two? What brand and model? I ask because I am considering doing the same thing as you are doing. The difference is I want to play rock and roll music and blues music. Right now I am trying to figure out what it takes to be able to play those types of music on UA-cam.

How is this compared to Harbeth speakers ?
These are impressive would have been nice same song side by side against the B&W 805 D4's and the $100,000 Sonus Faber Extrema. But with the Leben amp at $13,000 I'm sure it helps a lot with sound quality.

I wonder, whether the fact that they are carved from one piece of wood has effect on the acoustics. Quite impressive in mids and lows..
20 years ago nobody would build speaker put of wood. Because of the resonance of the Material. Time changes.
