Manzarek had the rare ability to make his left and right hands seem as if they were operated by two independent people. He also was a great story teller who could play these parts flawlessly while simultaneously carrying on a perfectly conversational discussion with an interviewer. It's harder than it looks.
Ray Manzarek's keyboard work is incredible and carries the listener away with a kind of magical Circus music. Thanks for providing an excellent visual to a genius.
@@CelcaGaming brother ill follow you aha. Sometimes I cant tell sometimes if someone is trolling or not. Fair play for your legitimacy. This is the first organ/bass song I've learned also. I'm learning a few other doors songs aswell so I thought I'd pile this on. I was gonna buy their hits songbook so I could properly analyse the songs but it didnt have soul kitchen on it unfortunately. It's probably my favourite song by them. Barring the blues and some classical music I havnt found many songs where the bass is as busy as the right hand. Most songs I learn I find the bass is kept simple and limited to a few notes just to lead up the right hand chords or melody but ray here plays the bass like it's a a separate instrument . Definitely a field I need to practice in (bass/organ) lol that's why I'm here. Any recommendations for other bass organ songs?
@@KristNovoselicFan your dope man. I'm defo subbing. Good channel you've got. Listening to your doors stream. Makes me wanna learn more doors. What keyboard is that also? Like the red lol.
Love it but the plays a second, RH, higher inversion pattern in the second and third verses I swear. This is amazing I ALWAYS. wanted to learn this, thank you. Let me know if you know what I'm talking about
Which sound do you use on the M50? As I don't have a real rhodes piano I use a small midi master keyboad for the bass, connect to the M50. What sound on the M50 would you suggest for the bass part?
a MILE off on the chorus :P I suggest you get your "ears" tested I will be the first to vote you down because I am fully qualified and have the necessary authority on the subject matter to do so

WESSERPARAQUAT just because someone didn’t play something perfect doesn’t mean they’re not talented. That’s very rude of you to say. From what I heard he played it right. That comment was just unnecessary bro
This is insane. He made the keyboard the bass line and the riff at once.

And this is no knock against Max here, he's great too.

stay awesome ... cool
This is great! Only thing is I wish the music volume had been a bit lower to be able to fully appreciate the organ part
Awesome! I want to upload The Doors covers but the licensing is confusing to me...
very nice
I always thought the bassline contained an F# instead of a G. I wonder which one of us does it the correct way. Awesome cover man!!
Excellent job! Are you still playing these? I was in a Doors Tribute band for about 2 years in Nashville.

440 hz??

what the sound effect from your organ?
Bass part is wrong. "F#" should be played instead of "G"
You are on right! F# on chord of D Major.
But the performance is very good
Muy buen vídeos... Pero falto volumen al bajo
