This tour helped a lot, thank you so much! I'm going to be applying soon but honestly i don't know what are chances of getting in and I'm just really nervous.
I just got assigned to the Sustainability LLC in Building A. This video was really informative and calmed my nerves about moving into a dorm (I'm a freshman). Thank you for posting this!!!
thank you so much for this very helpful room tour! one question: does the wooden shelf on top of the desk come with it? or did you purchase that yourself and add to the desk? again, thanks for the video!
The shelf comes with the room. It is normally next to the three drawers where I have the red cover under my bed but I moved it on top! Thanks for watching! :)
Hi I'm currently a junior in high school and I really want to go to UT Austin I'm from the RGV and I just wanted to know if you could make a video like explaining how you got in and what your high school gpa and rank was and your SAT and ACT scores thank you and I love your videoss
I'm a senior in high school and I'm highly considering UT as an option. But I was curious and a bit confused, what type of dorm do you live in? I seen a video where it was a jester dorm and it was only 2 people, so what kind of dorm do you live in that there are 32 people you share with? And you said it's unisex? I'm sorry for all the questions, but I just really want to be prepared
Marissa Calderon jester is another form where the rooms are much smaller and you can live with another person but everyone in that floor will be either girl or boy. This one is the same except the rooms are bigger and half of the floor is girls and the other is boys. Girls have their own bathroom and so will the boys. Let me know if you have any other questions!
hi girly! im an incoming freshman and i will be literally staying at the same building on the same floor this fall. i'd love to get to know you more and hear some advice about whitis court and on what to bring/what not to bring. thank you so much!
Can I ask how amazing you were to get into UT? I'm a high school senior and have been working my butt off into actually getting in and yea just lots of stress and worries and stuff. If you could give me any like knowledge about how you did in school it'll give me a good feel about how my chances will be. Thank you so much.
Hi Tommy, I tried to keep my grades up really high during high school. It is important to be among the top of your class so aim for A's. Your SAT/ACT scores really matter so try to score high on those. I did not do well on my ACT but they will take the highest of the two. Have a killer essay and application too. I know it is stressful but try your best. It also depends what major you want to get into, the higher the grades/scores the better the chance you have of getting in. Good luck, I will be rooting for you!
Thanks that sorta helps. I scored well on my SAT's and I'm in the first quarter but due to the amount of high fluctuations of students dropping out or moving away, class rank has become much more difficult to pinpoint but I should roughly be in the first quarter. Thank you so much and my application has already been sent in and all that's left to do is wait. When did you get your acceptance thing? Like do they email you or send a letter?
I live in Houston, so yea I live in Texas and thats why I'm so anxious because I'm not in the top 8% of my class rank and so I didn't get automatic Admission which is scaring me a bit.
Tommy Lamb ahhh I see that's why I asked, so it just depends on the school you applied to. For instance, I got mine in December to the college of Ed. But my friend got hers in late January to McCombs. I hope it all works out, what are you looking into for your major?
it's one of the older buildings, from what I have seen, (the common area, ballroom, courtyard) it looks old but the nice kind of old, you know what I mean? The location is perfect if you're comm,RTF, or engineering major since those buildings are close by!
I'm really hoping to get into University of Utah when I finish high school and I'm going to try and get a job at lagoon when I turn 14 to save up for tuition and dorms early.
So you should probably be around 16 now, right? (Or somewhere around there) How has that plan been going? Did you change your mind on what school you want to go to or do you still want to go to the University of Utah? Sorry, I'm just curious on how it's going for you since you posted this comment 3 years ago.
Naturally Nats definitely, I applied my freshman year the day before the last day and since I picked whitis court, I got an assignment before other people who had registered waaayyy earlier.
Michelle Gonzalez thank you! One more question are they really expensive? I've received really different opinions from people and some tell me to go look for apartments so I don't really know what to do. What would you recommend?
Naturally Nats living in apartments closer to campus are about the same as your standard dorm. As a freshman, I would recommend you stay on campus or close to campus. The further you go from campus, apartment wise, the cheaper but you'd have to take really long bus rides 15-45 min depending on traffic. Or drive. It really depends on your budget, if you can afford to live close to campus or on campus do it. Living on campus is also where you meet a lot of new people which is great for incoming freshmen!
I heard that there are two different floor plans, but does this mean that all the rooms in LLA have the same floor plan? (sorry for all the questions. I'm just really curious and a bit anxious about moving in)
+ellenphant7 don't be anxious! Everything will be ok! I'm assuming that one of them is this one (my room) which is the vertical style and the other are the corner rooms, which are basically this but turned horizontally if that makes sense?
YUP! a lot of people are kind of iffy about it at first but you kinda just trust the people there, you don't touch my stuff I don't touch yours. Eventually you just leave your stuff there, it's easier!
I am actually part of a branch of UTeach called Primary so I am basically like an undergrad TA for the science classes education majors have to take. I do know a few people who have been in UTEACH and they love it. If you like helping kids with STEM subjects you'll for sure love the program!
This tour helped a lot, thank you so much! I'm going to be applying soon but honestly i don't know what are chances of getting in and I'm just really nervous.

Just wondering, what activities do you have in the summer for incoming freshmen besides orientation and camp texas?

Anna Gonzalez thank you Anna, I will soon make a video, kind of like a Q & A about college and I will definitely answer those questions!

Tommy Lamb I got mine around late December, do you live in Texas?
I live in Houston, so yea I live in Texas and thats why I'm so anxious because I'm not in the top 8% of my class rank and so I didn't get automatic Admission which is scaring me a bit.

Hi Michelle! Loved this video! Is there a way we can get in touch with you?
What are the measurements on that mirror? I'm getting ready for Moov-In :)
2unique4u not really sure but it’s one of those hang on your door mirrors you get at Walmart!
Do you go to ut Austin? That's really where I want to go
Ruby yes! It's the best school!
Jessica are you top 6%?
I got in at top 6% SAT of 1220. Fine Arts major!
I'll be in Littlefield, do you know how nice/not nice that dorm is?? This vid was super helpful!
it's one of the older buildings, from what I have seen, (the common area, ballroom, courtyard) it looks old but the nice kind of old, you know what I mean? The location is perfect if you're comm,RTF, or engineering major since those buildings are close by!

Fantastic! Thank you sooo much!
GO BERNIE !!! 😭😭😂
Are all dorms this big? Or do you got a larger than average dorm?
Arjun Naganathan this one is on the larger side, jester rooms are pretty small, San jac rooms are the biggest
Do you know if LLA has the community or private bathrooms? Because I'm in LLA but I don't wanna pay extra for a private bath
Elizabeth Saji LLA has community baths, in fact, every whitis dorm building is community bath!
What year do you have to be to live in that hall? Freshman, sophomore, etc
Tye C whatever year! So you can be a freshman, sophomore, jr or senior
What type of dorm like jester west or like what one do u have cause there are 3 types
Seeing the Bernie sticker made me feel like her emoji pillow.
Amarandum Valdamaris negativity from people with no actual photo on their profile will not be tolerated in this channel. Good day.
I'm barely gonna apply today for the residence halls do you think it still worth it?
Naturally Nats definitely, I applied my freshman year the day before the last day and since I picked whitis court, I got an assignment before other people who had registered waaayyy earlier.

I'm going to be in LLA. Do you know if the rooms are about the same?
They're the same, the only difference is that LLA has rooms in the bottom and top floor as opposed to LLB where the rooms are only upstairs.
I heard that there are two different floor plans, but does this mean that all the rooms in LLA have the same floor plan? (sorry for all the questions. I'm just really curious and a bit anxious about moving in)

I'll be in Whitis this upcoming school year 😅😅
SliceofMaria you’ll love it!
do people keep their stuff in the community bathroom ??
YUP! a lot of people are kind of iffy about it at first but you kinda just trust the people there, you don't touch my stuff I don't touch yours. Eventually you just leave your stuff there, it's easier!
What is your major? BTW beautiful dorm.
Nivedita Kundu Bilingual Education!
Does it look similar to the Man dorms, just asking
Random Matt yes! Each building differs but the rooms will be the same for males and females.
You're in UTeach?!? How is it?!?
I am actually part of a branch of UTeach called Primary so I am basically like an undergrad TA for the science classes education majors have to take. I do know a few people who have been in UTEACH and they love it. If you like helping kids with STEM subjects you'll for sure love the program!
+Michelle Gonzalez Cool! I'm at Orientation right now, and I was put in the UTeach Math and Science FIG, so I'm pretty nervous!
+filipgurl don't be! You're gonna like it I'm sure! Good luck at orientation! Will you be living in whitis?
How and when do you apply for UTeach?
+obdiane I know they have a certain track for you depending when you join. The first course is UTS 101 if you look up on registrar.
Wonderfull
You like Bernie and the Spurs OMG I love u lol
People at UT walk around like theyr'e dead.
