- We found ourselves back in Australia for more crazy skids! This time we went to Red Centre Nats where they have plenty of skids, drag racing, grass driving, street cruising, and more. We hopped in a couple cars for a skid and it was WILD to say the least.

There were many that were Australian model only (vl commodore, maloo, the Mazda r100)......yes there were several American cars, but mostly Australian steel.

In the middle of 1969, one of the most significant cars of the 20th century slipped onto the Australian market with little fanfare - the Mazda R100 coupe, also known as the Familia Presto Rotary coupe. It was Australia’s first affordable and practical mainstream car to feature an all-new powerplant since the piston engine replaced the steam engine decades earlier.
At $2790, the R100 was launched eight dollars under the VF Valiant Pacer, several hundred above the Toyota Corolla Sprinter and 25 percent under the sports car benchmark set by the MGB. On a good day, it could nudge ahead of the Pacer and outrun the rest.

It comes down to our population, we only have 25 million here today so it wasn't viable for our local car companies to make custom 2 doors like they could in the US (Charger, Camaro etc), our 2 door muscle cars from the 60's & 70's were bases on the 4 door family variates. This stopped in the late 70's as it cost too much to develop a 2 door variate that would only sell in small numbers. Today those cars are rare and expensive, to buy just a crap version of any of them you need $100,000+ before the work starts, then you worry about damaging your expensive car on the burnout pad! the 4 doors are plentiful and ALOT cheaper so your budget can start at a much lower base.

Built LS1, been in there for 4 years. Only had a 750dp on at that stage.
Once I seen a vl do a massive burnout and he was going from drive to reverse to drive instantly with ease never seen nothing like it ever again.
The Duramax swap GU Patrol at 16:52 I suspect might be the one Alan Butler built before he started The Skid Factory. They're supposedly a bloody nightmare to convert, but they're an absolute beast once running

It's very easy to lazy convert kw to hp. You take 1/3rd and add it on top. So 450kw, 1/3rd of 450 is 150, 450+150=600. The true value is 603.46, super close and more than close enough for something like this.

Sorry I'm not putting 15g in a motor 5 in a trans and putting it in a car to just do burnouts. I'm not that hillbilly. Id rather have a 5g burnout car and a 20g drag car/truck (had to put truck since my drag car is a Chevy stepside lol)
An d if I had money to build a 20g burnout or "skid" car....I'd just put another 15 in my drag car. Like I said I'm not that hillbilly nor fake hillbilly like the Nebraskan "Florida Man" is.
