This game having a more cartoon aesthetic definitely helps mitigate some visual downgrades. Overall, there isn't a ton of immediate noticeable differences, until you start getting into lighting.
I'm loving it on the Switch. This game is a masterpiece. It will definitely keep me occupied for a while. When you consider that this game was designed with the PS5 and Xbox Series X in mind, it's amazing how well it runs on the Switch.
Switch does quite well. People need to remember that most Switch owners play in handheld mode, so sacrificing graphics for portability is fine. Also for crossplats, if I want amazing graphics and performance, I'd buy the PC version anyway.

It is interesting to see how the Nintendo Switch performs in comparison to current consoles, I like to see and try to understand what companies need to do or cut to make the game run properly on a portable console. The Switch is still in its prime and is still a current console that sells very well, I wonder if despite the hardware limitations if we will see games coming out for the Switch/PS5/Series X ~ S but not for the Old Gen consoles PS4/XONE. (as some indies are doing like Temtem for example that abandoned the old-gen versions but not Switch and next-gen consoles) We probably won't see a successor to the Nintendo Switch until 2023 so I'm really curious to know what the future of the Switch will be next to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
There are rumors of a Pro version that could release sometime mext year. My guess is that we won't see an increase in current gen games coming over to the switch simply because the power gap between ps5 and series x and the switch is now bigger than ever. And in terms of power, the Switch is almost 2 generations behind. But at the same time, that's what makes it so fascinating to me. And I like when developers push their skills to the limits and manage to bring over a solid versions of demanding games.
Why would you not do this comparison during the day when you can see all the vibrant colors and better lighting? Doing a comparison video when it's night time is a very bizarre choice. Makes it harder to see the differences.

We bought a preowned version for switch on the cheap in addition to our ps4 copy. Nice to have it on the go and we can continue where we left off with Ubi soft’s cross save.

Been playing the switch version, it's visuals are good on actual at first i hesitated to buy it because of how it look on reviews plus the game runs smooth for a portable console.

Que tanto lo vale? Sinceramente estoy en un dilema si irme a la version de switch por lo portatil o si quedarme con la version de pc. Me preocupa un poco que se vea muy pequeño en un mundo tan repleto de cosas (la resolucion) y el campo de vista y las texturas en cierta medida que si se ven un poco feas a veces (aunque es lo de menos)

Damn. This game is $29 on Switch right now for standard edition and $49 on PS4 for gold edition. Methinks it's worth the extra 20 for PS4 version. Superior graphics than the Switch and extra content.
La versión de Switch pues no luce mal para ser una consola con solo el 21% de rendimiento teórico de una PS4. Ha reduciendo la resolución un 55%, pero en el resto de los efectos se ve similar. las texturas son algo bajas, pero tampoco es dramático. Si solo tienes Switch o lo quieres jugar portátil, o cualquier razón para escoger la de Switch, no creo que sea una mala elección. PD: se que los flops son el número de operaciones con décimal teorías que puede los núcleos de una GPU según su frecuencia de procesamiento. La arquitectura, el IPC, ancho de banda, unidades de cómputo, etc son cosas igual o más relevantes para el cálculo real.

In my opinion switch wins, just from the fact that the difference is pretty much non-existent unless you're doing a side by side comparison like this. The only real difference is less grass. It's just impressive.
@Eren Altunsoy portability my man. It's the only console that gives you both portable experience on a good screen and a big tv experience. It wins by simply being a hybrid and having a somewhat dissent performance. Ironically sony basically did the same with the psp go but the idea was still too undeveloped to bring success. If you prefer power over flexibility than having a ps4 , Xbox or even a pc are the options for you. I have a switch and a ps4 and i still don't know which one is better.

Do you think botw and this game with their cartoonish style, shading effects and realistic physics would've existed if not for Nintendo's infirior hardware. No. They have little power so they are forced to be creative and come up with games that are superior in completely different ways. An ongoing trend in video games for the last 10 years was to look as realistic as possible. Gta5, tlos1,2 and of course the one who reached the limit of this trend rdr2. This is not a bad thing by all means but i don't think it should be the main focus. Everyone was obsessed with the realism but botw mario, oddesy and basically the switch itself showed that you can make the game fun, pretty and even timeless without sacrificing so much power. They managed to somewhat end or at least tame that realism obsession. In a year or two they'll release an improved switch with better specs and design but it'll still be far less powerful than ps5 or series x. The switch will not fall behind as long as Nintendo doesn't forget what they are going for. If you think about it Minecraft, a game which bears the same ideals is considered one of the greatest of all time. Personally i absolutely adore every game i mentioned except Minecraft but i agree that it's amazing.

Because the Switch version was done by a different team. The PC version is just badly optimized. Even the original runs and looks better than the Remastered.

They literally deleted shadows and particle effects as well as AA for the Switch :( FPS Drops to 25 FPS and more during effect-combat and multiple enemies. Yet im still impressed they pulled it off!

You're probably better off playing this game on PC to be honest. Maybe aiming for a native fixed 720p is a bit too much for Switch, they should put a dynamic res that go down to around 600p for it to be a good 30 fps experience. Otherwise it's pretty good for what it is.
Just due to optimization most likely. This game is on a lot of different systems they had to optimize and build for. If this game had been made specifically with the ps5 in mind then it would be 4k60

Change the video away from 480p and the differences are extremely stark, the switch version looks like trying to look through a steamed mirror. The switch is catching up the so called next-gen consoles. With the latest game engine optimizations those graphic effects can be done in less powerful Gpus without heavy tasking. Take the motion blur effects, this can be done on Switch with the reduction instruction algorithm and super sample resolution which is better than antialiasing.
We watching the same video? Looks pretty much the same as the PS4 with higher resolution. Switch looks and performs the worst but that's really to be expected so you can't really knock it for that.

SAME. But the quality mode looks overall nice. Since this is not a fast pace game it's better on quality mode

Personally i absolutely adore every game i mentioned except Minecraft but i agree that it's amazing.
@Eren Altunsoy some of them will not be that demanding due to the reasons i just mentioned, but for the majority yes you're right. I'm afraid that this version of the switch will relay mostly on 1st party support.

Because the Switch version was done by a different team. The PC version is just badly optimized. Even the original runs and looks better than the Remastered.

They literally deleted shadows and particle effects as well as AA for the Switch :( FPS Drops to 25 FPS and more during effect-combat and multiple enemies.
Yet im still impressed they pulled it off!

Though im somewhat surprised the switch version doesnt suck totally balls, ofcourse purely from a visual perspective, it cant hold a candle to a ps4(pro) or ps5.

lol the ps5 isn't better than the switch. Yes, it is more powerful but graphics and framerate isn't everything for some people. I'm more of a ps guy myself but its purely subjective and neither is better than the other.

There’s a larger discrepancy between the switch versions when compared to the others so it makes sense to showcase that in my opinion.
Maybe aiming for a native fixed 720p is a bit too much for Switch, they should put a dynamic res that go down to around 600p for it to be a good 30 fps experience. Otherwise it's pretty good for what it is.

Change the video away from 480p and the differences are extremely stark, the switch version looks like trying to look through a steamed mirror. I will say with up close textures actually look better than the base PS4 in some instances, so there's that

The switch is catching up the so called next-gen consoles. With the latest game engine optimizations those graphic effects can be done in less powerful Gpus without heavy tasking. Take the motion blur effects, this can be done on Switch with the reduction instruction algorithm and super sample resolution which is better than antialiasing.
